Hitting the beach in Miri, Sarawak

sand

I went to the beach in Miri on the very last day of my trip there. I was due to fly back to Sibu later in the evening and wanted to hit the beach before heading back so I woke Faye up to drive to the Marina Bay beach.

miri beach family

There were a lot of families and other couples frolicking in the sand and sea over there.

miri beach pier

The view at the Marina Bay beach was great – there’s the sun, the surf, the people taking a dip in the sea.

the artist

Guerrilla advertising at it’s best. πŸ˜‰

miri beach draw

I did this at the Mt. Buller Ski Resort in Melbourne, Australia when I was there as well – there was a snow cam on the net which shows live feeds of the area and I carved sixthseal.com into the snow and asked my friend to log in and grab a screenshot.

enjoying surf

It was fun to submerge myself in the salt water. I find beaches very relaxing and therapeutic. There’s the horizon in the distance, the warm sun on your back, the sounds of waves lapping at the beach. I think I would be less neurotic if I lived in a beach front property. πŸ˜‰

nicotine fix

Faye got my newly purchased digicam wet after a couple of photos coz she splashed water at me. The salt water got into the lens and fogged it up and just wouldn’t dry up.

beached whale

Beached whale (Hancock, little help here?)

I figured I would run back to the nearest shopping mall and get another digicam but I don’t think we’ll have time.

drowning

Help! I’m drowning!

Thus, it was decided that the digicam be left in the car with the heater on and temporarily use the inferior camera function on Faye’s Pocket PC (2 MP) to take photos with.

king of the world

I am the King of the World!

However, much to my delight, the salt water condensation inside my digicam lens evaporated when we got back to the car. Thus, we rushed back and did the same poses for capturing with a proper digicam and I jumped into the sea again for some shots.

miri beach rain

There was about 10 minutes of shenanigans before the ominous dark clouds passed over us and it started to rain heavily. Oh well, at least I got to swim in the sea and bask a little in the sand.

washing sandles

Thus, we packed up and ran back to the car. I didn’t even have time to towel off and take off my Speedo the second time so I was shivering by the time I got back home.

naked

I don’t have any photos of topless chicks sunbathing, unfortunately. However, I do have one of myself stripping naked at the family beach. Hope that compensates somewhat for the lack of T&A. πŸ˜‰

I had fun in Miri. It was great, managing to hit the beach during my last day there.

  4. It’s very comforting to see you so relaxed and at ease. I hope your health is improving more than mine from the illness; I’ve lost my voice. I think that’ll be my excuse tomorrow in French class πŸ˜‰
Do you still have that razorblade necklace you got in…Thailand? I ended up getting one of those and mini steel brass-knuckles on a separate chain, but it’s kind of a long story for some other time πŸ™‚

  5. Yeah, that’s Tanjung Beach. I’m sorry but I cannot help but laugh at your nekkid picture. It reminds me too much of a little boy’s bum. Adorable.
What??? Did I just say that? I meant, obscene! Ahem.

  7. Roland: Ouch! I don’t swing that way. πŸ˜‰
essentric: Haha! I think we’re both just built that way. πŸ˜‰
    Attention seeking, hedonistic, risk taker.
bubble7866: Morning! I’m feeling much better already, thanks!
Haha! I’m glad you liked it. Feel free to ask me anytime for an up close and personal view. πŸ˜‰
philip: The adipos tissue on the ass makes it a really bad place for tattoos. It doesn’t really work well. πŸ™‚
    al’sera: Mmm…that feels so good. πŸ˜‰
jessy: Thanks jessy! πŸ™‚ I wear Speedos coz I swim (occasionally) so that’s my de facto beach wear. Writing messages in the sand is fun.
Wuching: Haha! That made me laugh out loud. It’s true actually (the family part). The children were pointing and the parents were dragging them away from the beach, avoiding eye contact with me. πŸ™‚
JW: Heh! Well, you can’t exactly swim in the nude with all the dangly bits in the way and all that. Speedos…compacts the package into a more aerodynamic design. πŸ˜‰
fish fish: XY Category ah…will consider doing it. πŸ˜‰
It’s fun to soak in the water in the nude but you can’t really swim since the thing gets water drag and it kinda slows you down (besides feeling uncomfortable).
suituapui: Oh, I forgot to put a NSFW warning. Not Safe For Work. πŸ˜‰
Mine is smaller than 1901 sausage, I must admit. Oh wait, you mean the Regular or Giant sized ones? πŸ˜‰
liquidblackout: I’m sorry to hear that. Get well soon, k? Plenty of rest and all that.
Nope, I lost that razorblade necklace when I got in the psychiatric ward. They thought it was real and confisticated it and it went missing. I loved that necklace.
Do tell the story behind the brass knuckles necklace.
Tom: Not anytime soon, but I do want to go back someday. It’s gonna be fun, going back. Ah…memories.
cheche: Really? They have laws against that? I honestly didn’t know. But what about the Caucasians who sunbath topless? Are they exempt from the law?
c’-‘: I don’t block any nicknames (or any IPs) on my comments. Perhaps you didn’t put an email address in? The required fields are the name and email address. URL is optional.
(=’.’=): Thanks for the correction! I didn’t know what beach it was, but I saw the Marina Bay seahorse and assumed it was the same beach. πŸ™‚
Kim: I should have asked the resident guide before posting. πŸ™‚
Tanjung Beach, eh? We didn’t know which one to go to so we drove by the coast until we saw a beach with people and then just went in.
Hey, Kim, you know that I would give you a personal and up-close view anytime you ask. I won’t be offended or anything, in fact, I would be more than happy to do that. πŸ˜‰
    I hope Mark doesn’t read this. πŸ™‚
Choonie: My sausage is more like the mini cocktail sausages they serve as hor d ouvers. πŸ˜‰
    Kidding, kidding.
Darren: Aha! I should have asked the Mirians before posting. Thanks for the information. πŸ™‚
    kimberlycun: Thanks! πŸ™‚
I can always do that again in KL, if you bring me to Port Dickson. I won’t go into the water in PD though, it’s dirty.
iono: Without mosiac? Will consider it. Seriously. πŸ™‚

    uh… anyway… it’s a relief to see that they’re smooth and unblemished and not nightmare-inducing. =P
