Free Party, FTW!

ftw2

I have decided to go all out for the F&N Free Party contest that I mentioned in a previous post. I went to Jusco just now and purchased about RM 300 worth of F&N Fun Flavors to increase my chances of winning. Look at where the left hand (of God) is pointing – the contest is advertised in Jusco too! The contest ends on the 31st of December 2008 so there’s not much time left to pull this thing off.

wtf

I shouldn’t be going to Jusco @ 1 Utama on a public holiday…there is no parking and we spent 20 minutes waiting for our turn at the cashier.

I’m not a very patient person and despite learning to be Zen-like from one of my co-workers, it still takes time to implement it. Avoid 1U during public holidays at all costs!

Anyway, the cashier at Jusco seems intent on scanning it in one by one, which resulted in a loooooong receipt (and a long wait for the unfortunate people behind me).

list

The whole fiasco is quite funny in hindsight – I ended up with a three-meter receipt!!! Behold! The Great Scroll of Jusco!

It seems that there are 10 free parties to be given out and there’s a complicated system to choose the winning theme for each particular region so I’m going to play the numbers and divide them equally into the themes I really want.

jusco

What I’m planning to do is to send in the contest entries and all the pull-tabs wholesale e.g. in a single HUGE envelope to the good people at F&N with my written petition and a printout of my post. I’m going to print out a hard copy of the people who have linked me too in support of my endeavor so I hope this is going to show them how dedicated, nay, committed I am to winning this contest.

tower

However, this brings us to a serious logistical problem…how am I going to drink all those cans of F&N in such a short period of time without getting diabetes?

thinking

I’ve been cracking my brain for a way to get around this problem and I’ve finally found the solution. I’ve just started work and there are quite a lot of people in my office, a very cool bunch, all of them. Thus, I’ve decided to bring the F&N drinks to the office, and get all my co-workers to start drinking them.

pantry

I’ll post a handwritten note – FREE! Drink as much as you can BUT put the pull-tabs in this container.

office

I’m going to encourage them to binge on the drinks so I can collect all the pull-tabs in time for the contest. Problem solved! =D

innit

Thanks to the people at Nuffnang and all Nuffnangers for the support in making the previous post #1 on Innit.

I will need all your support again in linking this post for more leverage on my end to appeal to the people at F&N.

One more time? πŸ˜‰

  2. HB, Too bad I here in San Francisco for I love to cook and done catering for friends and co workers in sushis and cakes and many other things. I would have a punchbowl which is less costly on drinks. Go green and recycled those cans when done.

  3. HB, I do agreed on the punchbowl for it make more of a party thing going on. I frozen a round bundt cake pan and use it a ice ring for punchbowl and it kept punch cold for hours. Well in San Francisco sushi is real party things with cooked filling for sushis.
People love potstickers for some reason and springrolls and Vietnamese summer rolls. Nacho and chicken wings is always popular in every parties

  11. Took me a while consider. humm… “left hand of God”. In latin left is actually translated as sinister, a word that in english carries very bad mojoe. I bowl and golf left handed and when I play softball, I bat left handed, yet I when I write and shoot a bow and arrow or just shoot guns I am right handed. In some ancient mid western works of art, two guys (aristole and plato) walk side by side. One points up, and one points down. Like you in most of your posts and pictues, I always choose up. Doing the best you can and always helping others and facing adversity, when neccessary. Sometimes I think God himself likes a lefty, every now and again… Hell, he might even be one Himself. You never know. Hope you have a great party. Thumbs up HB for al the persons you help. I just felt a little philisopical this evening.

  13. You gonna have to educate me somewhat HB. Is jusco like Sams club, or costco is in the US? Over here you can buy cheap, but everthing is in huge lots and even then you pay about $39 US membership fee per year to be able to even get in the store. Sorry, but I don’t need 48 rolls of paper towels at one time. Hope you have a great time, though. Looks like a very nice party you are fixin to have. ( you look like an architect contemplating his next building in that photo, by the way).

    I love the new office.
pinky: I will never forget you one. πŸ™‚
cynthia: Okay, I will try pulling off the tabs without opening the drink (someone from work tells me this is possible) and open it with a screwdriver or something when you come back. πŸ™‚
    kheirul: Thanks…and congratulations! πŸ™‚
I wanted to go to that event too but my gf’s ex-colleagues were in town and I had to drive them around. Have fun in HK!
tom: I love your comments, mate. It’s always very deep and spiritual. I know someone in my office who’s like that as well. I think you two will have a lot in common if you ever meet. πŸ™‚
sylvia: Sent! Thanks! Check your mail. πŸ™‚
essentric: Yup, I don’t know any one who likes soda water or tonic water so I keep it at home as a mixer.
tom: Nope, it’s more of a hypermarket. The place for buying in bulk here is Tesco.
    Cheers for the kind comments!
winner: Iz ok. Ceiling Cat still loves you.
If he doesn’t, I’m sure Basement Cat would take you in.
Marlboro Guy: Heh! Very true, my friend. I look at it that way too. πŸ˜‰
I changed his comment, I usually delete comments from this troll, but since this version of MT allows replies to replies I usually change.
blackberrybloke: Haha! I love this line. There’s this movie that goes “Who do I have to pay to get out of here (jail)?” and the reply is “This is America, it can’t be done that way” to which the guy slams his fist on the table and goes “Then who do I have to KILL?!?!?”.
    Awesome line.

  16. Hi HB,
    I have some suggestion.
    1) Maybe you can just pull out the tab, without opening the can of F&N. And serve the F&N to your guest during CNY or any gathering. The F&N can be opened without the tab I guess.
    2) Buy a lots of F&N and re-sell it at pasar malam, or any pesta keramaian. Ice blended or ice cream float maybe! Make some profit too πŸ™‚
    3) Lastly, send all those F&N to orphanage and let them drink for you. Or maybe can go some primary school event and let the kids to help you to drink. They will love it =)
