600

I have gotten all my archives back into the database! The ETA is a bit later than scheduled but at least it’s before CNY. I figured it would take me a year to get all my posts from April 2002 integrated into the database so I decided to hire someone to do it for me. I outsourced the data entry to a friend of mine for RM 600 (including bonus for early completion).

I know I’m paying way above the market price since a lot of the categories and tags are messed up, but at least she’s very vigilant about the chronological aspects (year, date, and time) so it’s solid. This is the reason why I’m so broke this month, but I reckon it’s a good price to pay to get sixthseal.com fully up and functional once again. =D

I can’t expect her to think like I do so I would have to redo the categories and tags but in the meantime, I would appreciate it if you can assist in beta testing the archives. It’s entirely searchable now but there are two categories that shouldn’t be in there at all. Viewer discretion is advised while I sort that out.

Thank you for staying with me, Constant Reader, and it’s been a long journey since I started blogging but now I’m back on track.

Hail to the King, baby! ;)

  12. saw some old memories in your blog.. hehe..
how about the short lived blog after sixthseal.com was closed?

  13. Goodness gracious, look at the post counts next to each month. You’re an incredibly prolific blogger. I think your month with the least content is equal to my month with the most content. You must be really proud to see that huge bulk of writing laid out in front of you like that.
When I switched from Blogger to WordPress a few years ago I refused to bring up my new site until my archives were ready. It was a much smaller job than yours must have been but it still took many hours of cutting and pasting and tagging since the import tools were so poor back then.
Congrats on bringing SixthSeal back to it’s full glory! I hope all those Veritas posts can stay up for good this time!

  14. Thanks all! Will reply all the comments tomorrow.
There are some data entry errors – repeated posts in September 2006 and missing posts in October 2006.
I shall flay my outsourced data entry girl tomorrow. ;)
I’m paying way too much for mistakes like this.
Kidding, kidding. I’m not going to do that.
She’s going to correct it tonight or tomorrow. I’ll go through every single entry with a fine toothed comb tomorrow night to ensure every post is tagged and categorized correctly. There can’t be that few posts in FNORD D. ;)

  15. HB,
Is this what you plan out when moving to KL? What happen to you is like many other people living in big city.
Boy, did you have an adventure some good and some not so good.

  16. Huai Bin, despite your history, and the toll it has taken, your site is a treasure trove of information in terms of harm reduction. I’ve been a reader since 2004-2005 and your writing style and outlook on life has had me coming back ever since. Congratulations on restoring the site to its former glory, and hail to the king baby!

  17. Myhorng: Yeah mate, been waiting for this day for a long time. Next up: Banner from a designer friend of mine and cleaning up the About Me and general site.
purefaith: Heh! Well, think of it as me sacrificing my time (when I can lie down with a good book, have sex, or the million other things I can do) for your entertainment. ;)
    Payback time. :p
    pulltea: Thanks! Muchos gracias!
WEEN: Paypal? Nah, it’s alright. I’m okay, I’m just broke for this month due to a series of unfortunate events.
Oh, and the full sixthseal.com including drugs and pharmaceuticals is up. It’s just not categorized right, but a Search would do wonders. ;)

She did a pretty good job, at least she was FAST. :)
e: I am happy for the both of you bro, and it feels good that sixthseal.com is the catalyst for your initial meetup and matrimony. :)
May you have a blessed marriage. :)

Brian: Yeah, sixthseal.com is my baby and it’s good to see it being nursed back to health again, despite having to pay for a wet nurse. ;)

Michale (Mike): Yeah, story of my life. Adventures and misadventures. ;)
Trey: Hello there Constant Reader! Appreciate that you’ve stayed with me all this while, and thanks for everything!

  18. Eh, my company compulsory leave for the whole of next week. Who wants to go Genting?

  19. Oh man, you really made my day!:)
Back in 2003 I randomly searched for information on a certain topic (not to hard to guess…) which led me to your blog, from that day on the first one ever I continuously followed.
Thanks a lot for bringing back the good ol’ days, in remenberance of so many fucked up moments.;)
I always liked your eloquent style of writing, delivering insight into your world, living on the fast lane – that being the same road I followed for quite a while.
Finally, everything seems to turn out well, that’s what I always hoped for!
    Rock on dude ;)

  20. Raoul Duke: Cheers mate! Thanks for the kind comments. :)
It’s always nice to see the work and the effort I’ve put into the blog (risking arrest and all that, har har) appreciated. :)

    Surprises up ahead! ;)
YingYang: Ya, I’m serious. You want?

  21. This page appears to recieve a great deal of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice individual twist on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to say is the most important factor.

  22. Wow!, this was a real quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to achieve anything
