Lost

ppc car keys

I just came back from an ordeal worthy of the series Lost. It happened in a car park instead of a sentient island that moves around, but lost is still sesat. It’s a tribulation worthy of publication in the Reader’s Digest Crisis and Catastrophe anthology.

PPC picked me up since my car was in the workshop and thus I didn’t take a photo of the parking spot when I alighted (which I usually do if I’m the one behind the wheels). Thus, we were thrown way off course when the time came to leave the mall.

I was assigned to pressing the car key alarm while PPC kept a lookout for her car and Kalai guided us to the path of enlightenment.

We were seriously considering going to the security post and asking for the guard buggy service to ferry us across the massive acreage of the car park when we took a last gamble at Parkson.

We spent a WHOLE HOUR searching for the car! WTF! This would have never happened if we had the foresight of taking a photo of the car park space when we parked.

Me thinks this is high time for PPC to preregister for the Xpax BB so we won’t have to hike for 60 minutes in the claustrophobic and humid car park.

To add insult to injury, we couldn’t find the car at Solaris, Mont Kiara at our next stop for dinner! OMFG! How can you lose a car in a small place like that?

  2. I love your stuff, HB. I guess because of the ” been there, done that” factor. Couple of years ago, we went to a large mall, at Christmas. While there, we ate, and well, had glass or two ( ok, five or six maybe seven) We walked out several hours later, from a different exit, packages and bags, and could not find our car. There were thousands of cars, in miles of parking, on three different levels. we got home after a 2 hour search. ( excuse me officer, I lost my car and I am drunk– uh huh). we drank both bottles of sherry when we got home. She was most unhappy with me. Oh yeah, well why did you not look on which level we were parking?… kind of killed the festivities for that day…

  3. This happen to me and mum too, all the time actually.
We always “think” that we remember where we park. Two minds are greater then one right? NO!
Once, we searched for the car for 1 bloody hour in the 1u car park. Damn! they do have a very confusing car park don’t they?
And they have this stupid rule that once you paid your ticket you have to get out in like 15 minutes? anyways.. the ticket expired and the exit bar wouldn’t open. We waited for 10 minutes for the operator to answer the intercom. The drivers at the back wasn’t impressed at all.

  4. fufu: There were elevators but none leads to the car park. It turns out that there’s a special car park lift. :S
headsteadi: Happy long weekend buddy! πŸ™‚
I usually don’t get lost, coz I take a photo of where I park. πŸ˜‰
cynthia: It’s complicated for me at first too, but I kinda figured it out now – the trick is to take a photo when you park your car. πŸ˜‰
annant: Yeah, at first I’m always lost in car parks over here too…but I learned to take photos when I exit the car so I don’t get lost anymore…when I’m driving that is. πŸ˜‰
I always take photos when I drive. πŸ™‚
kentzai: …well, if nothing it’s good exercist. πŸ˜‰
PinkPorkChop: No worries la…it’s no problem at all. You can have the HTC, the Blackberry is mine. =D
hitomi: Heh! This is the second time she’s lost her car when I’m out with her. πŸ™‚
tom r: Yeah, I can totally relate my friend! πŸ™‚
I used to always get lost in car parks too, but the good thing about car parks in malls over here is that they’re numbered coz it’s so sprawling.
    Take care buddy! πŸ™‚
Mizz Sharon: That sounds like quite an ordeal indeed…
Something like that happened to be in Cineleisure once but the cars at the back were understanding. It only took the security 5 minutes to get me out though. πŸ™‚

  7. Easiest thing to do is just take a mental snap of when you walk into the shopping mall what shop/store you are facing.
I do that and just head back to the same store and exit there, it’ll lead straight back to your car.
Easier than trying to remember B3 24D green or some shit.
Cos the problem is, even if you take a snap of where you parked, it doesn’t help when you need to exit the mall to the carpark. You still might come out on the opposite side.

  8. Not familiar with 1 Utama and Solaris?? Because usually I’ll park near my usual spot in both of the place, so I always can find my car. But if one day there’s no empty spot in the usual place, I might have a hard time finding my car too LOL.

  9. ShaolinTiger: Yeah, that is indeed a better way. However, I never bother to remember the way I came in…good thing I don’t mind walking (on the way back home anyway) so I usually exit somewhere, and walk towards the general direction of the car park lot indicated in photo I snapped. πŸ™‚
Simon Seow: Haha! That’s kinda risky though, I always take a photo if I’m driving. πŸ™‚
PinkPorkChop: I’m not using it anyway, it’s collecting dust. I find the interface a bit unwieldy for that model. :S

  13. @ Mark I know what your mean. In todays economy its tough to find a company to work for that pays well and is stable . I have discovered that if you just work hard and are consistent you can succeed. Look at the poster of this page , they are oviously hard working and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.

Make it more accessible to everyone else who may not agree with you? Youd get a lot more people behind this if you just stopped making general statements.

  33. One thing is the fact one of the most widespread incentives for making use of your credit card is a cash-back as well as rebate offer. Generally, you’ll have access to 1-5% back with various purchases. Depending on the credit card, you may get 1% back on most expenditures, and 5% back again on purchases made going to convenience stores, filling stations, grocery stores along with ‘member merchants’.
