caydence seremban

Caydence, the self-dubbed Princess of Seremban, brought me around her hometown for a food tour – the best of Seremban’s offerings. It is rather ironic considering that she doesn’t eat that much to begin with (understatement of the century). We went to three places, two of them with her folks who insisted on paying for everything and even bought me Seremban siew pau to bring back.

seremban siew pao

Seremban Siew Pau is a crispy BBQ bun filled with pork goodness.

I remember someone saying that you can get Seremban Siew Pau in KL now…

…but nothing beats the real thing sourced from Seremban.

seremban siew pau

I wholeheartedly agree!

  1. nth beat d original and fresh from oven as travel certain journey the taste oso diffrent… :)
ur arsenal fan quite pretty… ;)

  2. I find the Seremban siew pau on the dried side. In fact, the siew pau in kuching taste much better. Be it the filling or the texture of the pau…well, some may disagree on my 2 cents

  3. ah nel: Yup! The fact that it’s called SEREMBAN Siew Pau also suggests that the best ones are bound to be found in Seremban. ;)
Oh thanks, I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear that. :)
napzzz: I’ve had both – pros and cons for each one, I agree. The Sarawak version has more gravy in it. :)
    debbie: Oh, that’s Caydence.
    *vague answer*
    ;)

  4. OMG! SIEW PAO! havent had that for eons!!

  5. Dylan: Yeah me too! It’s good to have some fresh from Seremban. :)

  6. Who’s the arsenal chick, looking good in that kit!

  7. waaaa so lucky, jealous!

  8. Holy crap. My stomach isn’t happy, still recuperating from a bad acid reflux, courtesy of over-indulging earlier on.
    And hmm… XX-chromosome… ;)

  9. Sban siew pao is delish but Caydence a Arsenal fan . . . .me totally opposite!

  10. Mike Lai: Oh, that’s Caydence who hails from Seremban. :)
KY: Yup, the siew pau is good stuff. I like the minced pork one, there’s also a curry version. :)
Cheers: Haha! Yeah, I get that too if I stuff myself too much.
Yup, haven’t filed a post under that category for a long time. ;)
WEEN: Yeah mate, the Allah issue is going to be what people remember Malaysia as nowadays. ;)
foodcrazee: Yeah, love the stuff. What team do you support? :)

  11. cold, really cold. negitive 4 cold. and this just just after two feet of freaken snow. and I say freaken cause at age 50, I dont like the alternate. heard it to much. and of course, after advising every one else, I had forgot my own family and my self… a big wake up call to me, safety tom, who barelly had a few candles and an old bic lighter in the house, whilst he was busy instucting others how to light up their life…. still, you must recover and learn, ( not what I said, said to me…. also… quite being such a pussy… get up…

  12. tom: Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself my friend. Take care and be well! :)

  13. not much change… an thats a good thing, hb. sudden change is death. today I saw horses wearing blankets aginst the cold. never thought ida seen that. my mom and dad ( they had me late, in 60) said they ate the horses you could find and wore the blankets … and that was in england…. we are lucky… so very… well. we have much luck at our hands… lets try not to f it up, again, but I se it comming, next generation ( beyond mine and yours, or ours)
why did they not just talk to each other. was this really necesarry? Holey smokes, I hope the next generation is a little smarter than ours… but I still got a 30.06 a 12 gauge, a .38, and various knifes, and belive it or not, a bow and some arrows… guess we aint come so far, after all… its like the western tradition of shaking hands… jut checking the other guy dont have a knife up his sleve… and if you think turning this over to ladies is gonna make it better… well, think aagin…

  14. that last comment was pretty damn dumb, was it not? on my part? but if you see injustice, is it not your duty to step in and try to correcect it? even if your spelling aint right? It’s like… well.. you know when things aint right… God put that feeling there… lemme give you an example… sushi is ok, or lobster, crab, or well, it is killed quick. like a hog, or cow, or bird, or racoon, or rabbit for that matter. but i would not have it brrought to my plate, and filet it alive… makes me wanna puke… but… well I sure am not gonna be a vegitrian… shit, try to do no harm… I never ate jelly fish … no why.. ever been stung by one… like wasps…. we are at rhe top of the food chain, for a while… got jurassic park… what makes you think we gonna be here forever… now thats a scary thought… sweet dreams… thanks HB every thing we have is God’s gift. nothing forbiden. just use the time wisely. cause thats all we got, is time. dont be pissing it away. seems i forgot that. again. speaking of myself. time. it seems more prescious at the end than the begining, but it all has equal value. shit, I ws supossed to be dead in 98, so this is just gravy , anyways… BUT, my life is not my own anymore… and I dont encorage it , still is nice , hey common, hb, most are on borowed time snyway… now tomorrow same damn thing you did today.. but try to smile , otay… you have made me smile, lord knows, otay…

  15. pretty! Referring to Caydence of course. Not the siew pau. Hahahaha. I tried and I thought it was a lil try. Not really orgasmic. Hahahah

  16. tom: Hey, that’s pretty interesting! Cheers mate. I actually Wiki it, and yeah the handshake is to a gesture of goodwill to show there’s no weapons concealed. :)
Take care my friend, no it’s not dumb at all, life live without regrets, and yeah like you said, we’re all living on borrowed time, so enjoy it to the max.
chefmel: Caydence eh? The siew pau is pretty good too. It’s different from the Sarawak ones. :)

  17. hey its my bday that means yours happened already or your bday is coming up.

  18. WEEN: It’s coming up. 5th April bro.

  19. Not a fan of Seremban pao! I think the Kai Joo Lane (of India Street) ones in Kuching win hands down!

  20. suituapui: Yeah, the Sarawak version is pretty good too – it’s different coz it has more gravy. The Padungan one in Kuching is pretty nice as well. :)

  21. I agree with suituapui, kai joo lane is best. Some people say the first shop is better than the second, and vise versa. I personally like the 4D shop across the road, very “heng”.
I still can’t work out why you haven’t offered her a ring already. She is not getting any younger you know.

  22. rocket: Interesting! Okay, will try the others. Haha! She’s a friend of mine. :p

  23. Muz have a try in future time..
    Nikel Khor

  24. nikel: Hi Nikel! Yeah, this is what Seremban is famous for, you should drop by sometime. Cheers! :)
