RM 10,000 from Genting

genting 10000

A clean 10k in chips. =D

I went up to the Highlands of Sin on Saturday since I was bored and I wanted to see if the winning streak still applies. *pretends* I put RM 3,000 on Player for 3 rounds. Motherfucker, it tied two times but I stuck with it and didn’t withdraw and won in the 3rd round with a natural 9. Sweet.

(for the uninitiated, you don’t lose money if it’s a tie on Baccarat)

I lost RM 100 on Player double though. RM 3,000 on a single bet is a grey area, sometimes they allow it, sometimes they don’t (since technically one person is supposed to bet max RM 2,000 per round).

I left the table and put RM 100 on the number 4 in Roulette and it came out as…3. >.<

I decided to call it a day and went to the cashier. Unfortunately, there’s this Baccarat table just blocking my way to the cashier and I put down my spare RM 200 on Player. I lost that bet and wanted to go but something just told me to go again.

Thus, I put a RM 1,000 bet on Player and guess what? Natural fucking 9. =D

I won RM 3,600 in total and in combination with my RM 6,400 buy in that comes out to a neat and even RM 10,000 cheque.

I’m glad I didn’t move tables when I went in. I went to a cold table (as in there’s no one there) and started exchanging my cash for chips before people started thronging in. I wanted to leave since it takes a long time for everyone to start up but I was adviced not to – and a good thing too. I had RM 3,100 riding on that – I always take up the spot 6 and 7 and after the gnarly two times in a row draw, I finally won RM 3,000. Heh!

One last thing, I finally managed to clear up the winning vs non-winning cheque issue – if you get a winning cheque you will NOT get the full amount since Genting will tax you. However if you get a non-winning cheque it’s nice and easy, you get everything. I also bought two jeans and shirts and minus all expenses I think it comes up to about a RM 2,500 nett win. Mind you though, my calculations are terribly flawed and includes stuff like buying attire. πŸ˜‰

genting 10k cheque

Anyway, those of you who have been following me on Twitter would know about my mom’s battle with cancer. It’s not something I want to talk about now, but will post about it soon k? I’ll be flying to NZ to be with her before her operation. Thanks for all the mentions, DMs, SMS, emails and IM well wishes – much appreciated.

  1. WEEN: RM 10,000 is about USD 3,000 as of current exchange rates. RM 3,600 is about USD 1k but it’s hard to compare it like that since the living expenses in the two different countries are different. Just think of it as what you’ll get in the States. πŸ™‚

  2. debbie: It’s not a lot actually coz I spent a lot up there too. πŸ™‚
I usually calculate 1k for “trip costs” but this time it’s a bit more coz we drank, went to the amusement park etc coz I went up early. πŸ™‚

  3. Nice work mate..congraualtions. Had your red underwear on did you? πŸ˜‰
Also, I always thought BaccaRat was large fury rodent, but if you can win money on it who cares hehe.

  4. Best wishes with your mum’s operation…
Send my regards to your sis…we were classmates for many years…Blessings and prayers for you and your family…

  5. Jerine: That’s pretty standard across Malaysia, smelly toilets that don’t flush. Are we supposed to walk around with buckets of water or something?
HB: Good to see you are doing well, why does it cost 1k to go up the hill? Your liver needs some punishment? Bad liver, bad. ha ha ha. You’ve been there a few times already this year, surely that money can buy you a car liaw.
All the best with mum, hope all goes well.

  6. Jeff: Heh! No, actually I stopped wearing red underwear to Genting. I have this ALL NEW BULLETPROOF (or at least projectile resistant) ritual where I take a shower and hold my piss until I get up, pee at the casino and then go in. πŸ˜‰
Social Stranger: Thanks! I’ve checked my passport – still valid for one year (NZ does not allow less than 6 months to enter).
Will pass on your regards to my sis. Appreciate it. πŸ™‚
Jerine: It’s the only place you can take photos inside the casino in Genting. Plus, I think it’s a nice contrast. Heh! πŸ˜‰
rocket: It’s a casino, no photography allowed (in fact I don’t think digicams are even allowed but there’s too much human traffic through the metal detector to check) so I always just put it in my pocket.
    It doesn’t cost 1k per se. πŸ˜‰
It’s just – going up (RM 120), coming down (RM 130), drinks at Genting, rides at Genting, clothes etc all adds up to more than 1k so I calculate my nett winning like that – the take home amount. πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the well wishes bro! Appreciate that.

  7. lady luck again following ur way… πŸ˜‰
i felt u about ur mom as i seen my both parents battle with cancer before…wishing her recover soon… πŸ™‚

  8. ah nel: Yup, luck is again on my side. Haha! I bet high (RM 3k) and was in and out in probably 10 minutes (not inclusive the time taken to get the cheque). πŸ™‚
Thanks for the well wishes my friend.
gypsy-on-the-move: Thanks for your kind wishes. It’s very much appreciated. Cheers for that. πŸ™‚
ciki: Yeah, it’s bordering on inprobable right? I win without having to battle – just in and out, high bets and fast round and I cashed out.
Haha! Erm…can but not garuntees (can never spell this word) on winning. πŸ™‚

  9. What’s this $260 business on transport? If you ask my future wife nicely, she might give you a lift. Pls take my future sister in law too, you know, after you stained her dress and curtains.
And yes, you are too old for rides liaw. Just spend the money on booze. A bottle of Johnny Walker Blue here and there, your liver would be most appreciative.
How about we go double or nothing, put all your winnings from each game back onto the table. In 20 bets, you should be able to bankrupt the casino. 1,000 x 1,000 x 1,000. Ok, 1 billion is not quiet enough. You need to win 10 more times, that should do the trick.

  10. rocket: I always go during the weekends so I am not exactly sober when I’m up in Genting. With them twisty and winding roads, driving under the influence is seriously not recommended.
Haha! She does go to Genting…for Starbucks.
No la, I don’t mind going for rides. NO ONE IS TOO OLD FOR AMUSEMENT PARKS! =D
I drink and then everything seems much more fun – the Motion Master, the arcades etc etc.
Nah, that betting strategy would not work. It’s a very, very long shot and you’ll hit even the big tables max if you do that. πŸ™‚
Simon Seow: Yup, managed to get lucky on Saturday again! πŸ™‚
eiling: Jerine? She went to Penang. I went up with some friends. I just felt like drinking and going up to Genting to take my mind off things. πŸ™‚
Anyway, in the casino, no photography is allowed, so you have to take photos in the toilet. T_T

  11. Hey bro, I think I read in the Mad Style last week that you were going to NZ but didn’t know why. Sorry to hear it. I’ve been through some similar shit, and I’m focusing all of my energy to send you some positive thoughts right now. Hope it all goes well.

  12. Jhnhth: Oh Jerine’s blog. Yeah, have to be there – entire clan will be for me mom’s operation. Thanks for the concern bro. It means a lot to me. πŸ™‚
ahlost: Thanks Rose! All the well wishes are much appreciated. T_T

  13. annna: Thank you, thank you.
However, gambling is all about luck. You will lose someday, which is why I bet amounts I can afford to lose. It’s a matter of time. πŸ™‚
Hey, thanks for the well wishes ya, appreciate it Anna!

  14. man lately you’re robbing genting casino hahaha! awesome win…i should learn to be less greedy like you and walk out the casino when im winning. rm3,000 a hand is madness, the most i did was rm4,000 on two tables. but i got a question for you…let say you lost the first bet of rm3,000, would you still have the mood to continue play? cos it would be a tough battle to get back your initial bankroll.

  15. Jason Chow: Hehe! A lucky streak which I don’t think will continue much longer – one final run this week and then I’ll be set! πŸ™‚
RM 3,000 per hand is actually pretty safe, coz my way of thinking goes – it’s 50:50. If you bet 1k, you’ll have to go 50:50 each single hand.
Yup, I’ll still have the mood to play. πŸ™‚
I’m prepared to lose the money I bring inside.
