My trip to Club Med Bali – Body and Soul: Four Colors in Four Days

club med bali

I just came back from Club Med Bali a couple of days ago. There was a really interesting event going on called Body and Soul: Four Colors in Four Days. I was there for 5 days for the Club Med experience and thought this was a great concept.

garden yoga

It was a lot like my Club Med Phuket trip in that everything is all inclusive and there are friendly GO’s who answers any questions you might have and even eats with you. The best thing about Club Med is that everything is all-inclusive and you can choose to do whatever you want…or nothing at all.

Anyway, since the 4-day Body and Soul event was running, I went for each of the themed events. There’s a new color every day and that color denotes the β€œtheme of the day” which encompasses everything from activities to food!

  • Energy in Red
  • Balance in Green
  • Revitalization in Purple

Body and Soul: Four Colors in Four Days is meant for people who want to immerse themselves in a health and wellness program. It’s a way to get away from the hectic city life and check into Club Med to awaken your spirit, heal your hearts and bodies and even your sense of well-being.

I must say I was rejuvenated by the end of the program. πŸ™‚

kayaking

It’s really quite interesting – for example, on Green Day: Balance – there’s kayaking to start the day…

…followed by a session of yoga with Yin Yang Chi Balls by experts from the award winning Australian fitness company Physical BestLisa Westlake, the fitness instructor/owner/physiotherapist/presenter/author (there’s little she doesn’t do) and Lynley Gladdis (an international presenter in the area of mind and body fitness with degrees in Arts Dance and Remedial Massage)

aqua aerobics

There was a really upbeat class of aqua aerobics which I totally enjoyed – had a blast doing this, it’s a lot of fun! πŸ™‚

I even had a video of me doing aqua aerobics – thanks Becky!

green day food

There’s also green themed food and special platters that highlights nutrition based on this color.

It’s pretty amazing, eh? They even had pistachio ice cream on green day!

There are also kids programs with the similar theme and night entertainment (green party during green day). Thus, each day is broken down into several activities e.g. for Red Day: Energy:

Expert Program

Kids Program

If you think Club Med is fun, wait till you experience the Four Colors in Four Days event! I did things with my body that my girlfriend didn’t believe until I showed her the photos from yoga (that’s Cindy from Malaysia, who’s a yoga instructor on vacation at Club Med Bali).

Body and Soul: Four Colors in Four Days was held on Club Med Bali in March and will kick off in Club Med Cherating Beach from 7th – 14th April 2013! Yup, it’s coming to Malaysia right after Bali. It’s a health and wellness retreat to boost well-being through a series of 4 consecutive color themed days with the color included in everything from diet to parties!

yoga

You can also safely leave your kids in Club Med, that’s why I love the place so much. They’ll have stuff to do and be entertained while you go do your own stuff. Check out Club Med Cherating Beach if you’re interested to know more about the upcoming Body and Soul event in Malaysia! They have special packages for a 4D/3N stay!

I asked Ling if she wanted to go but she couldn’t make it for the dates. Club Med trips are always good coz you can decide if you want to join in the plethora of activities or just chill…and the food is awesome!

Indeed, too bad about that, she would have enjoyed the yoga and Club Med in general. Unfortunately, she can’t take leave coz our birthdays are just 1 week apart.

It’s really a lot of fun – the GOs are friendly, the place just has a positive vibe about it.

Best thing is you can leave your kids in peace with the GOs and they’ll be occupied with kids activities and social interaction with their peers!

  3. I always heard very fantastic reviews from everyone who visited Club Meds worldwide! You sure had a blast looking at the photos. How come you don’t need to work one and always on holiday? Or are you being paid to have holidays!?!?! I want this job!

I’ve always loved my vacations at Club Med! You can choose to do whatever you want – chill and eat the delicious food, maybe swim a bit, or go full on and participate in all the activities and watersports. I did some windsurfing in Club Med Bali too.

Haha! I wish! I have a day job, I took a week off for Melbourne and Bali.

Green day (not the band) was all about green food, veggies and all that. Even the breakfast juice has the same theme as the color of the day!

I totally loved the concept – it’ll be nice to see them do it in Malaysia at Club Med Cherating Beach!

I highly recommend it for vacations – it’s all inclusive so you don’t have to worry about money, the GOs are friendly, and the food is awesome!

There’s a lot of fun activities too, everything from kayaking to windsurfing, tennis to golf lessons, all included in the price (which also covers alcohol).

The first photo is the view right from Club Med Bali out to the beach!

  4. I’ve heard about Club Med Cherating and the sumptuous buffet (the menu changes daily, was what I remembered).

I kinda wish that I was there too. =)

    • The food is one of the best things about Club Med! πŸ™‚

It changes daily, so you won’t get sick of it even if you stay for a prolonged period of time. There’s chefs to cook specialty dishes and plate them nicely for you too.

There’s something that (I think) is available in all Club Med resorts – white chocolate bread.

It’s a *must eat* if you’re in Club Med. Awesome in-house baked bread.

Club Med Cherating will be having this Body and Soul event soon – it’s the second village to do it after Bali!

    • Yup, that’s part of the appeal with Club Med! πŸ™‚

Their activities are awesome and included in the price you pay. The GOs are friendly too, very positive vibe going on there.

I like how they have lessons in everything from windsurfing to golf if you want them too!

Awesome! If you’re going in early April, Club Med Cherating Beach will be the next one to have the Four Colors in Four Days event. It’s really something if you’re into wellness, health…and yoga!

  5. Hey, Club Med is awesome, and the thing that got me perked up is that you can leave ur kids there with ease as u relax? WOW! That’s certainly something for people like me. Can’t leave the kid at home, can’t possibly enjoy with the kid around during hols too. So nice. I got to start saving soon!

    • Yeah, that’s one of the best things about Club Med! πŸ™‚

You can leave your children and they’ll be entertained (and kept safe) by the GOs. There are nights when the kids present a talent show that they have rehearsed during the day and there are a lot of kids-only activities.

I think you’ll love it Eli!

    • Yup, and it’s coming to Malaysia! πŸ™‚

Club Med Cherating Beach is having the Four Colors in Four Days event from 7th April 2013 onwards. I loved it – everything from the activities to the food follows the theme.

Even the morning juice and ice cream changes to reflect it! I particularly like the wellness and yoga activities!
