Shots from a Steamboat Dinner

steamboat dinner

It’s a home steamboat dinner over at my better half’s parents!

kids steamboat

The kids are having a lot of fun…shoveling in all the fish balls, meatballs, and stuff meant for the steamboat. They really enjoyed dumping *everything* in at once! smirk

cheesy meatballs

She cooked a wonderful meatballs with cheese casserole that I’m still eating with a baguette.

kfc noodles

I didn’t cook anything, so I brought a bucket of fried chicken over from KFC.

bacon chinese

This is really awesome “bacon”. I’m going to call it Chinese bacon! Haha! It’s thickly sliced pork belly that my dear bought straight from the factory. It’s cheaper than bacon too!

chinese bacon

The stuff cooks well in a steamboat – it’s like shabu-shabu, just a couple of swishes in the hot water and it’s done.

steamboat

Quail eggs, noodles, family and fun!

steamboat us

This is a photo the little one took of us, which I really liked! My favorite photo of the day. <3

  1. I love to eat steamboat anytime. I could eat them every night for a week and that was craziest time.
I didn’t know that we could buy Chinese Bacons from factory! It looks like Sukiya’s sliced yummy pork meat.
The photo is nice and sweet. Wedding photo will look even better, I am sure….. I saw Angels and Cupids dancing above my PC!!!

    • I’m not a huge fan of steamboats but I like them from time to time! :)

Yeah, it’s from Elite Meat. You can buy it straight from their factory.

Haha! Thanks for the kind comments mate!

  2. I like using that ‘Chinese Bacon’ during steamboat too!
Nice photo… Little One is so cute… can accessorize herself with necklace la…bracelet la… ^_^

    • Yeah, it’s good stuff eh? :)

Haha! They look so cute concentrating on dumping everything into the pot! I remember that’s what I like to do as a little kid too!

    • I think the broth was made of chicken! :)

I’m not sure though since her mom did the broth. It tasted like chicken though. Haha!

    • Yeah, it’s fun to eat steamboat! :)

I hate eating it when it’s hot and muggy though, if it’s outdoors. However, on rainy days or inside a house, it’s perfect!

  3. *melts* I love the last picture too. Small E took the pic, right? It’s really lovely. I love steamboat lunch or dinner too. It’s probably the only kind of dining where everyone will actually put away their gadgets and communicate with each other. :D

    • Yup, the smallest one took that photo! :)

They like to use my camera, which is a good thing. Can get photos of us. Haha!

Indeed, that’s the best part about having steamboat – the bonding and conversation!
