RH Hotel is having a special Mother’s Day buffet dinner promotion at Oriental Bistro with a door gift and a free ticket for every five tickets purchased.
It is priced at RM 44 ++ per person and there’s a 50% discount for children below 12 and senior citizens above 55 years old.
I went there with Faye and KJ since my parents had a church function they had to go to.
The highlight of the Mother’s Day buffet dinner is a kebab/steak stand where the chefs cook the cuts of meat you want.
There are also various types of sausages…
…and they even slice it up nicely for you at your request.
There is also an ABC (a kind of shaved ice dessert) stand for something sweet to finish your dinner with.
You can customize the ingredients and toppings you want inside. I had mine with chocolate sprinkles, which is a decidedly unorthodox topping. π
This is what I ended up eating…and this is just for starters coz I was REALLY hungry last night.
My plate overfloweth. It contains:
Beef tripe and scallops
Deep fried prawn dumplings, beef rendang, calamari
Prime portions of chicken
Deep fried squid and braised duck
Chicken curry and shrimp with mayonnaise
Steamed fish
There’s even a side dish of various cuts of beef and veal!
I was still feeling a little hungry after all that excess so I attacked the pastries counter for dessert.
I noticed one of the chefs bringing out a new batch of cream tarts so I got some as well. =D
This is the dessert plate that I finished the meal with – I even got four (4) scoops of ice cream to go with it.
I am a rather fast eater, as Faye has been telling KJ. Faye took a video of me eating the entire plate. This is really the usual speed at which I eat, unless I’m with polite company. π
Speed eating!
RM44++…? I’m positive the poster says RM40…and I’m sure my eyesight isn’t failing me yet!…And I always have a bone to pick when they say, “Buy 5 tickets, Free 1 ticket!” That means you only pay for 4 tickets, as the other one is free!!!! They should state it more clearly like, “Buy 5 tickets, and you get another ticket free!!!”
The food looks good!!!! Now, should I go tonight??? And ooo…I get 50% discount!!! Humph!!! Should have got myself an older wife!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!
HB you should consider a career in speed eating. I haven’t seen someone eat that fast except maybe after a 3 day run. o.O
I thought you were going to choke yourself..
Haiz!!! Submitted comment and then server down!!! Anyway, I was saying that there was a grammatical error in the poster: “When was the last time you HOLD your mum’s hand?”…And maybe it was me, but at first glance, I thought the picture depicted something obscene! LOL!!!!! (I know! I know! I’m terrible!!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!)
HAHAA its not only you suituapui, at first glance i saw what you mean too hahahaa!
You should instead bring you mama to the dinner, not Faye.
MEGA MUNCHIES!
π
Dude, should pull a “How does the little Piggy eat?” stunt from the American classic ” A Christmas Story” on Youtube.
How many glasses of water you gulped down? π
that is a lot to eat for 40++!! delicious looking food!! now if kl can get that kind of food for 40++ π need to wait to go back sarawak/sibu then feast..
Dude, you are a vacuum cleaner! I posted a response to your Big Chomp Challenge already. Got a couple of friends to join in also. And I have found the ‘fastest mouth in china’. No one can say the chant faster than this fella.
suituapui: OMG! You’re right. My mistake. I kept thinking about RM 44 for some reason. I can’t remember why but something was priced at RM 44 that day and I confused the two. π Thanks for the correction.
I agree with the phrasing of the text, it could use more work. Perhaps they would consider hiring me. Haha! I would love to work in the marketing division of a hotel.
The food is quite good at RH. I like their usual Great Weekend Buffet. I haven’t tried your recommendation of Li Hua buffet though, will do that one day.
skittles: I can eat even faster than that. π
This is kinda like my usual speed. I know it’s kinda rude to be eating at that speed so I don’t do it unless I’m with friends. Definately no speed eating during business lunches or dinners. π
Nicole: I have never choked on food before (er…at least not in recent memory). Speed eating is my claim to fame. π
suituapui: The server was down? Anyway, I didn’t even notice that grammatical error until you pointed it out. It’s true, it should be HELD. π
I didn’t find the photo to be lewd though, but then again it could be coz I had already had some before I went to dinner. π
zeroize: Really? I have a bit of a gutter mind and I didn’t even notice it!
Wilson: My mom was attending a spiritual healing seminar of sorts at church with my dad so we’re postponing our family Mother’s Day celebrations till this weekend. π
JW: …and I wasn’t even on weed. π
e: Hmm…I haven’t seen that one. Will check it out soon. π
CarolineL: None! π
The only liquids I had was the ABC shaved ice dessert. The thing about Chinese food is that it’s usually quite moist so it’s not that hard to go down.
bongkersz: Yeah, the prices over here are cheaper. RM 40 is considered expensive over here in Sibu though…a bit towards the high end.
Avi: OMG! I just watched your video. Very nice, my friend. π
