I went for lunch with Eiling at The Curve this afternoon – it was supposed to be last week but we were both kinda busy so we postponed it to this week. Eiling told me about this place called Waroeng Penyet which serves authentic Indonesian food so we headed there for our midday sustenance.
You can tell it’s authentic by the teh botol (except this is teh peket) that they serve. My Indonesian friends in Melbourne had this thing about teh botol – literally “bottled tea” – it’s practically an institution in Indonesia.
The ayam penyet (their flagship dish – translated as flattened chicken) was awesome as well.
The new answer to life, the universe and everything is not 42…but 32. Economic recession la…10 people retrenched. :p
Yiling passed me some cigarettes by proxy from her recent trip to Perth – these are premium Dunhill tobacco products which I swear I’m not gonna smoke and collect instead. Then again, I’ve said that about a lot of things as well and I always end up smoking/drinking/consuming them anyway. π
Eiling gave me the best present ever – a wallet! I have been (not so subtly) hinting about being relieved of my wallet in Bangsar when I was mugged and I’ve never gotten a wallet since then. Eiling kinda picked up the overt hints and got me…
…a HIDESIGN natural leather wallet. Awesome! Thanks Eiling! You the best. π
I’m glad I’m fortunate enough to have friends like these. Cheers EZY (Ziling included or she’s gonna say you guys make her look bad again :p).
Thanks for making time for lunch with a commoner instead of the usual Tan Sri, Datuk and Datin company you keep Eiling.
Honored la, I. π

It’s not from Perth la… It’s Dunhill My Mixture edition, only available in duty free (travel retail exclusive). Can I convert you to a Dunhill smoker??? :p

HB, Happy Birthday! Now that you are 28 year old, what plan you have in life and future. Is your thinking now more mature due to some guy change at a certain age.
They start saving money for future life with someone and future family. Time fly fast.
HB, Happy Birthday to you. Here is Easter Sunday also Cherry Blosome Festival with lot arts and crafts from Japan and next week parade. San Francisco style and Sakura mochis are great in a city with many cultures. Hope you have great time on your birthday.

STP: That’s an exaggeration! HB – sarcasm!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. hb No Joke. Your site has been a great help to me. God bless you ,my friend. I happend on your site seveal years, ( and a few comupters) ago. Through looking for “Camel meat” on goggle. I have been a reader ever since. But more than that, I regard
you a younger brother. half a world away; Happy Bithday HB. ( mine is feb 29, 1960 – a leap year baby- but I need your advice, now HB I am about to puchase a 10 megpixil fuji camera, with the recharghing station and lithium batteries for 100 usd. Is that a good deal? I had a Fuji Cam in the past,( optical) it was the best, but it got chrunched (broken) by a kid on a trip. I just want some thing easy and small. Tom
tom robinson: Thanks tom! I’m glad sixthseal.com has been a source of help to you. I know which post you’re talking about. Camel meat, that was when I was in Kuching. π
I feel the connection too, tom. I’m glad the wonders of modern technology allows us to comminicate in a reasonably rapid manner. Heh!
Anyway, I would recommend the water and shock proof Olympus. I’m gonna get that if I have the cash to supplement my dSLR.
