Meow!

kuching

Hello Kuching! It’s been a while since I was here, and a lot of things have changed – new malls Spring-ing up (haha bad pun), new hotels, and generally a lot more vertically inclined buildings scattered around the city. I daresay it’s about as developed as Penang now.

It’s a full day of shooting for us Project Alpha Season 1 bloggers and I only slept 4 hours last night so today is gonna be a long day! I’m quite excited though coz things look so new and different now.

We’re staying at 360 Hotel if anyone wants to drop by. It’s a pretty good boutique hotel.

Most of the people are here for the first time, and as a Sarawakian, I had to put up with a lot of “Oh, Kuching also got Shell/7-Eleven/(insert common franchise)”.

  1. I donno HB, its not like you all are 18 and rolling in money. Spain or Turkey or Grecce is ok, but infested with tourists, like Rome, for that matter. or London. all these places I have been, but alone, or rather, not on a honeymoon. Military. Right now, its a pretty big snow storm, the second since chritmas, so if somone said wanna go to tahoe and ski, or alaska, I’d hit them. but I would ask her, first thing. and anyways, whereever you go, it aint gonna be all romance… lost luggage, et al. wherever you go, there you both are. both of you. with alot of stuff. it aint gonna be easy. not just you and her, but your two families… but you can make them join… what about a cruise… somewhere new to both of you… even a short trip with a cheap inside cabin… just a thought… I would like to go to new guinea , or brisbane, or new calidonia myself, and snorkel or scuba. but that dont mean she wants to… like you said… you are not 16 or 18 any more… you better ask her. halfway around the world is no place to have your first marital argument. Belive me… my Mom was from Bristol
(england) and Dad was from western NC (usa). they meet in wartime, then honeymooned in costa rica, lived in panama ( for a while), then mom got tired of it and came to live here, in the usa. She could not return to england, cause her own mom had called her a whore for getting married to an american… Dad came home when HIS mother wrote him and said, come get your wife and kids. this was 12 years before I was born, in 1960. shall I continue this tale… they were 48 years married… but it was not all sweetness and light, from either side… Hey romeo, ask your juliet what she wants to do… wont tell you about my experiences… God help you. but it’s still nice. even the worst is pretty good. Tom
