Seize the day!

pamela hb

Morning peeps! I’ve been up for quite a while so I expect to crash pretty soon. I had breakfast at TDH with Pam, which I usually miss coz:

1. I don’t really eat breakfast.
2. I don’t wake up that early on weekends

I’m glad I went today though, coz I ended up sitting in there for 5 hours (!) talking to Pam. She has this really cool tattoo that goes “Carpe Diem”.

carpe diem

Seize the day indeed, something that everyone needs reminding of once in a while.

Anyway, Leanne was in town for the weekend from Australia. I had dinner with her at Jalan Alor and got some interesting insights from her. It’s truly inspirational how she travels while juggling all her responsibilities.

Pam, Jess and Konstandinos joined us for drinks later at Changkat Bukit Bintang. We had originally wanted to go to a gay bar for something different (thanks for the recommendation Lynn) but the place didn’t serve food so we went to another watering hole.

I ended up drinking diet Coke and singing in a jarringly off-tune key to classics from the 90′s – it seems that a couple of us has the same tastes in music. The DJ was constantly inundated with requests by us and the bar was dominated by our playlist of punk, rock and metal classics. Heh.

Anyway, today is a date of some importance to me. I think. I won’t be sure yet for another 28 days but if all the stars align I’ll get a tattoo that says 22/7/2012.

Seriously.

    • Heh! Why do you say that? :)

You can tell I’m interested? ;)

Well, it’s an important date for totally personal reasons, nothing related to the post at all. I’m figuring out how to make a date in DD/MM/YYYY format look good when it’s inked.

    • Yeah, it was good, totally spent today though coz I didn’t get much sleep and woke up just to waste two hours of my life. :x

      Haha!

Yup, it was fun to hang out with everyone Saturday night. :)

  1. because it’s a special date spending with someone special?

her tattoo is cool! but i couldn’t imagine to have an ink on me forever. what if i don’t likey it the next day? :/

    • Well, it’s just a date that’s worth commemorating for personal reasons – if it was for someone special I’ll tattoo her name instead. ;)

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool too. Hmm…you have to tattoo something that’s significant to you, or else I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have a tattoo of my ex-girlfriend’s name, can’t say I regretted doing it – it represents my state of mind at that particular time in my life.

Don’t ever regret your body art, it’s a canvas of your life. :)

  2. Hmm, could it mean that you’ve met someone special? Cause it sounds like you may have met your match. Don’t worry, HB, I’m just breaking a leg on that. =D

There’s really a gay bar in the midst of the city? That’s a surprise! But it’s good to relax once in a while and worry not about your singing abilities as long as you and your companions are having a fun night together.

    • Thanks for the support Ciana! :)

Well, it’s supposed to be a gay bar as in gay people go there and it’s “known” for it but I didn’t get any vibes at all, it just seems like a regular bar to me.

Indeed! I sing horrifically, I think I’m tone deaf, but I still love to do it. :)

    • You know, I met her when DJ Ferry Corsten was spinning at KL Live but I didn’t know that was her at that time. :)

    • Nope, 28 days is generally “recognized” as the amount of time needed to break a habit, either good or bad.

That’s why some private rehabs that uses the NA approach are based on the 28 day concept. :)

  3. Sounds like one of those instances when the elements align. 90′s music, and good people. Never fails.

[mulls over Huai's nebulous clue to the significance to the date] … … … … Ohhhhhh. So, you’re having a sex change?

    Seriously though: Godspeed bro.

    • Yeah, good music, good people, good times. :)

It was a great weekend, it’s a good thing I went for breakfast with Pam and met up with Leanne.

Thanks bro! Appreciate the support. :)

  4. assuming the 28days Period is referring to what it means, then you’ll miss it for a mile. Your input on 22/7 would not connect….

    • Well, it depends on how you calculate it. It could be 22/7, 23/7 or 18/7 etc.

I decided on 22/7 as the start date. :)

    • Hello Leanne! :)

Heh! Pam eh? I went out for breakfast with her before meeting you coz I don’t know when you’ll arrive and asked her to join us. Well, I liked the time I spent with her (and you too) so I guess that says a lot? ;)

28 days. Crap. Today is Day 1, let the epic adventure begin. :x T_T :\

Thanks for the support Leanne! :)
