I can finally find my way to Cheras! =D Okay, it has been a bit of a running joke that I have a terrible sense of direction. I admit, it’s true. However, with the HTC Touch 3G + Google Maps + GPS I can now find my way to Cheras:
w00t!
The only problem is, I have trouble keeping my hands on the prescribed 10 – 2 position while driving and smoking. Oh well, you can’t have it all. π
Are you trying to show off your HTC r your wrist? I notice that you have the thingy on your wrist taken off!
ahahahaha… it’s a miracle that sixthseal didn’t get himself lost this time. π
Miracle indeed lol. Know the way to Setapak then? :p
Choonie: Both! Haha! HTC is quite nifty, I love the GPS function! With Garmin Maps installed, I can even have voice prompts for your safety (so I don’t have to hold on to it). π
Ya, I took out the wrist piercings dy. Infected. Will be pierced again soon. Tomorrow maybe? Or later today? Probably tomorrow.
Juice: I won’t ever get lost again. =D
Jac: Nope, but lemme check on Google Maps and I’m sure I can find my way there. Yay!
try searching under ‘food’ for ‘Funny Mountain’ or ‘Lok Wee Kui’ – if it turns out negative, then you’re having the wrong maps…..

are you allergic to your watch or something??
why is there rashes on your wrist?
i think i need to get a GPS too.. i have terrible sense of direction.. to the extend my friends would rather take the trouble to come all the way to pick me up, rather than risk having me lost.
give me five dude!!! im a road idiot too.i cant even manage to go klcc last time ,wtfff. guess i need a gps too , getting xpress 5800 soon ;-p
advantages of using gps…..
– going up genting highlands, i can see all the corners before reaching them, thus able to adjust my speed & cornering angle of my car
– coming down genting highlands at nite when the mist has set in, i know where i am even though visibility is low… as i can see the corners on the gps…. the audio warnings of sharp bends ahead…
HB,
have you setup yr home co-ordinates into yr gps unit yet?
it’s a very useful function….. when you are somewhere else & need to go home, just select ‘home’ & it’ll guide you home… clean & simple…
imagine this:
you are very tipsy at a bar (would this occur again?)
HB: hey, pretty baby, would you be a kind soul & drive me home ( giving her yr carkeys)
PB: but i dun even know where you live?
HB: no problem baby, just follow my gps & it will guide you to my plush condo…
jocelyn,
get a dedicated gps, instead of those that comes with the pda or phone…
get one that you can upload updated maps of your choice (free), some devices forces you to but only their own $$$$ maps… a gps is only as good as it’s maps…..
get a basic model, like Garmin Nuvi 205W…. it would suffice….

imantulen: Does the maps works with Garmin?
Confessions of a Medical Student: I don’t wear a watch. I never had the habit of wearing watches. Time can be obtained from a cell phone. I don’t like the feeling of wearing watches. It’s coz of my wrist piercings:
http://www.sixthseal.com/2008/12/wrist-piercing—sub-dermal-piercings-on-my-left-wrist.html
I took it out coz it was getting infected. Those are the entry and exit holes. It’s just scars.
breadpitt: Great mate! π
It’s not a crime to be directionally challenged. π
Welcome to the club!
imantulen: Nice! I have been planning to go to Genting for a long, long time.
Anyway, heh, that’s a new pickup line. I don’t think it’ll work for me though. I kinda get ED when I drink. :p
weh huai bin i can see your big love bite at your neck.
Oh, that’s not a love bite. It’s just a minor hematoma. π
HB: if currently you’re using garmin map, then OK, no problem… you’re on the correct side…

ED?… hmmmm….you’ll never know what a good PB can do…..
imantulen: Thanks for the links!
PB? What’s that?
No, I seriously ED when I drink, even Viagra and Cialis doesn’t help. I’m totally serious here.
dude, i am never one to comment, but for your own sake, i am glad to see subdural wrist piercings gone. live long and prosper, hb. (ok, call me a geek, can’t say too much… my left hand is broke right now , and my ribs are healing up, ok. friends are the best. mine kept checking on me, wether i like it or not.)
tom
tom: Thanks mate! It was getting infected, so I took it out, lest I lose an arm. It’s kinda like injecting in the same site daily, it was getting all filled with pus and turning a darkish shade I didn’t quite like…like an abscess so I thought I better take the piercings out.
I’m glad you’re healing, take care of yourself my friend. Be well.
PB = that future pretty baby of yours…
ahhhh….. you dun have to be drunk, you can pretend, like that “dead like possum loopy” fella who can drop down without spilling his drink at ky’s place all nite long… wink, wink
imantulen: Heh! Not ready to have a baby yet. I gotta sort out my own issues first yeah.
I can’t pretend. When I drink, I drink. π
BTW, I think that guy was honestly drunk. π
Hehe ok, we shall see whether or not you’ll get lost the next time π
HB, don’t fret!! if you still tersesat in cheras, holler out for me!! XD
Ginny!
opps ok im so sorry then no hard feeling k
no need gps. just go straight straight straight. dont believe ask KY.
“like that “dead like possum loopy” fella who can drop down without spilling his drink at ky’s place all nite long… wink, wink”
HAHAHAHAHAHA. PATRICK?! HAHAHAHAHAAAA
Sorry, it’s so funny. i can’t stop laughing.
Common sense suggestion: Get a phone holder? You should be able to get one for your car. :3
Jac: Okay, we’ll see. π
panda aka racoon: Okay, but I don’t have your cell phone number! π
Simon Seow: …in person. π
Riduan: No worries mate, it’s not a big deal at all. π
Take care bro.
Paul Tan: Erm…going straight from my condo is likely to get me up close and personal with a concrete wall. π
Z0E: Yup, the one and only. π
Naoko: Yeah, but Google Maps and GPS directions can go left, right, up, down so you have to turn the device.
Cheras is a maze, thank goodness for GPS.
ShaolinTiger: Yeah mate! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks Cheras is a maze. Especially the housing areas. Ginny stays at a gated community and it took ages for me to find it. It was quite funny, the security interrogated me (guess I didn’t pass his profile test) and said that house does not have any daughters. I made it a point to drive out slowly and said there are TWO daughters in that house. π
Iβd come to acknowledge with you one this subject. Which is not something I typically do! I love reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
