Tongue Piercing Photos and Video

borneo headhunters

Greetings! I am blogging from Starbucks in Kuching while waiting for my flight back to Sibu. I have been planning to get another tongue piercing and managed to squeeze it into this brief trip – perhaps a more apt word would be a layover – thanks to Irene, who kindly drove us around Kuching.

preparation

This is my third tongue piercing in as many years. The first tongue piercing was involved in an unfortunate incident during a routine dental hygiene maintenance procedure where the screw-on ball dropped down the sink. I didn’t have a replacement, considering piercings were not common then so the piercing healed up.

The second piercing was subjected to an accidental ingestion during a particularly delectable feast – again with the screw-on ball – and I couldn’t find the backup stud I had in storage. I wasn’t particularly keen on waiting for it to reappear after a bowel movement and screwing it back on so it healed up on me as well.

This trip to Kuching was meant to be a layover before we went to Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort so I only had the evening to squeeze in a trip to The Spring, get a tongue piercing and go out clubbing before heading for our R&R at the resort. I made an appointment with Ernesto of Borneo Headhunters Tattoo and Piercing for 6 pm.

Unfortunately, Ernesto ran out of tongue studs and Irene was kind enough to drive me to Rupert Rage War Store in Centerpoint to get the jewelery for the piercing. I got a standard surgical steel tongue stud plus a more vociferous design for nights out. I reckon it’s better to get two this time just in case any undue ingestion or bathroom incidents affected the first one.

This is the video of my third tongue piercing. I’m pleased with my travel companion’s directing skillz since it turned out pretty well. The tongue piercing is a little off center but I kinda like the way it looks now. It’s a little more interesting than a straight piercing and I have it on good authority that it feels better in this configuration. My travel companion commented that I was quite a cunning linguist after the procedure. πŸ˜‰

It cost me RM 50 for the piercing only (RM 120 if you want a stud to be provided). Thanks Ernesto!

  1. I heard Borneo Headhunters got really good artists. As for being a ‘cunning linguist’, is it just a coincidence that it sounds like cunnilingus? he he.

  6. Awesome! I want to get another tatt when I am in Kuching this July….are they any good? I am not one for the piercing (I prefer the pain of the tattoo over the pain of the piercing – I know, I am demented)….but I have always wanted a tongue or an eyebrow piercing πŸ™‚

  7. JoeNiece: There would probably be a fourth time since this piercing is not fully centered. I want it to be dead center and perhaps a bit towards the front. I’m not gonna get another one done so soon after this one though. Perhaps at the end of the year.
jess: It’s not very painful. Personally, the most painful piercing I’ve ever done is between the nose – not the side of the nose, that doesn’t hurt but in the middle of the nose between the nostrils (like a bull’s nose ring). That one hurt something awful coz I think there’s cartilage inside that part of the nose.
Avi: Yeah, I love their designs. Excellent ink work. Ernesto did my phoenix and Celtic cross. They won a couple of international tattoo awards too.
    …and yeah, it’s wordplay on cunnilingus. πŸ™‚
Irene: Ernesto is the only one left now…has an assistant called Simon (?) though. Don’t know if he does tattoos or piercings or just helps out.
Roland: It depends on the person’s sensitivity level. One of my ex-girlfriends didn’t like the tongue piercing. Her clitoris is sensitive so it hurts her when I go down on her. Some girls aren’t as sensitive though, so it feels good for them.
Irene: Hmm…mine doesn’t really give me any problems. I can feel it there, but that’s pretty normal until I get used to it in a couple of more days. It doesn’t hurt or anything and I kinda like the senget thing…but I still want to get a straight dead center piercing. Let’s go end of this year? Get another tattoo to boot? Love your latest tattoo. πŸ™‚
Choonie: Well, I used to be an injecting drug user so needles don’t bother me at all. I’m pretty used to it. The pain doesn’t register as well since I have a very high pain threshold. I used to cut myself coz I like the adrenaline rush. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
…and I’ve also done this two times before so it’s not new to me. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but tattoos and piercings don’t hurt for me (unless it’s in a really sensitive place like the genital region). πŸ˜‰
Wilson: Well, different people register feelings of pain differently. I don’t feel much pain. Thus, I’m not bothered by tattoos and piercings, coz it just doesn’t hurt for me.
Anyway, I would love to do a genital piercing but I have this phobia that the person would get it wrong and permanently damage the family jewels…
Skwermy: Borneo Headhunters is the best tattoo place in Kuching. I would only go there since I don’t trust the other dodgy places. Hey, since you’re coming back in June and planning to get another tattoo too, let’s do it together and we can film each other. I want a design based on the word “agape” (unconditional love).

  9. Hi! I was in Kuching around the same time, putting up at the hotel round the corner (Support the Foochows! LOL!!!). Somehow we didn;t bump into each other. I could have strolled over to this tattoo place and enjoy your pain…oops, I mean the live performance!!! Hahahahahahaha!!!!!

  10. LOL OMG, I didn’t dare to see that video, because I am pretty phobia to see that, will have bad dream. The only place I want to have pierce beside my ears – the belly. Haven’t tried it though.
Glad you are having fun. I usually like to have a companion to travel too, it makes the trip better in term of money, food and fun!!

  11. ok, maybe we’ll get it repierced straight this year end, ’cause my one is giving me a bit of discomfort due to the position, especially when uh… i have the need to utilise uh… the pierced portion. heh.
new tattoo? i’ll think about it, ’cause i need a nice design planned out first. and one a year already gives mum quite a fair bit to bitch about lol.

Seriously, I would have no problems with showing her with me on vacation since we go out for dinner and stuff anyway. The resort I was talking about at that time was the Mukah Kingwood Hotel which we were supposed to go to with a bunch of other people. She would be paying for my room if she had lost on the liger bet. πŸ™‚
We didn’t end up going though coz I had some work related stuff to do that weekend.
suituapui: Really? Too bad we didn’t bump into each other. Which hotel is that? I didn’t know there was a hotel in that area. What’s it called?
Heh! Well, the one you want to see is me piercing my nipple, which I’ve been thinking about doing. I’m kinda sensitive over there so it’s definately going to be an experience. I nearly couldn’t stand the tingling sensation when I did my phoenix tattoo which wasn’t even close to the nipple (but a little to close for my comfort).
fish fish: It’s not very gruesome at all. Unlike other facial piercings which can produce a little blood (like in between the nose) there’s no visible blood on tongue piercings unless you hit a vein. It only happened to me the first time, quite a lot of blood but then again that was back in 1996 and the piercing woman admitted it’s only her second time doing this.
There’s no blood on my second and third tongue piercings.
Piercing the navel would be nice. I wouldn’t do it coz I’m concerned it would look less than heterosexual on me. πŸ˜‰
Indeed! We should go on a trip together, can save on accomodation and food (and have more variety to boot).
Irene: Hmm…it’s not giving me any more problems as of today. I didn’t even notice it until you reminded me of the piercing. I’ll do it again with you again this year end though, but I plan to do a second one e.g. get a second tongue piercing towards the front. Would be nice to have two on the tongue.
Yeah, I know what you mean, a piercing towards the back tends to lessen the impact of my cunning linguist demonstrations too. πŸ˜‰

  13. this is the 3rd time tongue piercing? yeah, saw your previous tongue piercing, with the gold stud if i remember it correctly.
hmm.. i have a labret piercing on my lower lip, just want to ask you for tongue piercing, does it affect your speech later on? haha! don’t want to end up with a slur in my speech.. πŸ˜€ or it depends on the individual?

    Reply
  14. bongkersz: Yup, the gold stud is the second tongue piercing I’ve done. I accidentally swallowed it when it got unscrewed while eating. I would love to get a labret piercing too, but unfortunately the official dress code of my workplace doesn’t allow it. We’re not even supposed to have tattoos so I wear long sleeves to work (as usual).
Hmm…speech impediment for tongue piercings? I don’t think that happens. Perhaps to certain individuals it does.

    Reply
  15. bongkersz: some individuals may find it hard to adjust to having a piercing there, hence the slurring. i personally had a bit of problem pronouncing “shisedo” properly for a couple of weeks after my first one, but adapted fine after a little practising LOL.
and sometimes, the position of the piercing might affect the mobility of the tongue, hence causing a speech impediment. my current piercing is a little senget to one side, and i found that it gave me a little lisp at first, but i managed to get around that.
depends on many factors, but most of the people i know with tongue piercings get used to it after awhile. hb never seemed to had problems with speaking normally after all his piercings, even straight after, so i guess it’s a subjective issue – for some people, the fear of pain causes them to not use their tongues properly for awhile and it develops into a habit.

    Reply
  16. Irene: Oh, I know what you mean. Certain words can be difficult to enunciate properly due to the ball below the tongue (which affects that membrane thingy so the tongue is just that much less flexible).
Never had much problems with speech though but eating certain foods can be difficult on the first day (crisps and bread – the first coz it kinda hurts and the second coz it sticks to the piercing).

  17. huai bin & irene: thanks for the info. let’s see if i have the balls for tongue piercing somewhere in the future then πŸ˜€ huai bin, yeah i don’t wear it to work as well. my tattoo is on my back, yet to have any on parts that need much ‘covering’ hehe eg. wrist, neck, arms.

    Reply
  18. bongkersz: No problem. I wanted to do one on my hand and one up the neck but those would have SERIOUS work consequences. It would require turtleneck attire to the office so it’s a good thing I didn’t go for that. πŸ™‚

Unless you mind me personally asking, what’s the title on this style or perhaps wouldn’t it be considered a custom made affair? It’s considerably much better than your themes or templates I personally use for a lot of regarding my personal blogs ;–)

  38. PlayStation Phone – No internal memory? That seems kind of weird since I doubt this thing will use UMD. Also, isn’t the PSP2 coming out next year? Will they make a PSP Phone 2? I’m kind of skeptical on this one. well, i can’t edit…but i wanted to add this. i wont be surprised if sony adds some type of adapter add on to the PS3 (something to support the IR blasters, and maybe a small unit within that add on that has more RAM) so it can support google tv. It would make so much sense for sony to be even more of a presence in the living room, other than what the ps3 can already do. If google tv ends up working out all the kinks, and getting better…i wouldn’t be surprised. On top of that being a selling point (a huge one) over the Wii and similar to the Xbox integration w/ att uverse, you’d be able to get the PSP phone and the ps3 to work all buddy buddy together. the possibilities are endless if you ask me. This would be called product synergy sony…listen to me
