Cherie

cherie

Well, those of you who’ve been following sixthseal.com for a few years would know Cherie. For some strange reason, she was the only girlfriend that was accepted, and even embraced by the readers. Anyway, Cherie is one of my ex-girlfriends that I have always maintained strong ties with. We broke up in 2005 but have remained friends. I met up with her again last night and it’s great how two people can not meet for two years, see each other again, and just be comfortable together and enjoy each other’s company, just like old times. 🙂

…and get your mind out of the gutter, not in that way, in a strictly platonic way.

I didn’t bring my dSLR out last night so this was taken with the HTC Touch 3G.

  2. charlz: Hello! I’ll tell her you said hello. We were all the way in Bangsar (which is not very far from KL, granted) so we couldn’t head over to Poppy.
Cherie is like super skinny now. She used to be less skinny. 🙂

  4. Dude, I remember Cherie from Laconia(?)..met up with you and Kenny (Patron Silver). Cherie is cool, a rock n roll girl who fits your lifestye as a girl friend. Of course, the girl next door would be more of a wife material for HB.

  7. Yay – another Cherie post, it’s been a while…. 😉
I guess Cherie’s been so popular because she’s got this kinda dude-style (in an absolute positive way) which seemed to fit you perfectly.
Curiously two of the most desastrous rock’n roll relationships I ever had evolved into an absolutely intimate friendship…

  9. “it’s great how two people can not meet for two years, see each other again, and just be comfortable together” – and that is one of the best feelings!
It’s also a sign of emotional maturity, and something that seems to be rare enough for 20-somethings, especially nowadays. I blame TV dramas and romantic movies, but I could also just be being ageist! 😉
Cherie is looking good. Great that you can still be friends 🙂

  10. Sorry for the lack of updates. Series of unfortunate events:
    1. Phone stolen/lost on Saturday
    2. Kitchen fire about six hours ago
It’s nothing serious (good thing the neighbours had a fire extinguisher) but it took out the entire floor’s electricity. :S
It’s a faulty plug, and my landlord wants to survey the damage, plus the condo management wants to see me.
I don’t have power at home so updates when the electrician comes later today. I’ve been up since 12 am (when the fire started) trying to appease my not-very-happy neighbours.
    Fuck.

  11. sorry HB, I have no right to intrude on your personel life. I just seems you look very happy and at ease with her. Looks like a portriat of “mom and dad” your kid’s would like. wishing you the best. And I am sure not one to give marital advice, anyway. Half a century old today! ( well, kinda, it is really feb 29, and snowing like hell here, as usual on my birthday. I am probably twice your age, but have a date next week with a nice lady. We used to work together, and are going out for breakfast. Hope springs eternal, you know. I feel like I am 18 again. Though I am 50 and she 52. The heart wants what it wants. God Bless

  12. Pardon me, HB, but do you play the pianno or organ. If not , you should. Your thumb is as long as your fingers, in that pic. It looks kinda freaky. As on who noodles around, on both, plus bagpipes and banjo and violin( any thing to piss people off, though I don’t like brass, that pisses me offn neccesary but not like wood winds) I bet you would be great on a keyboard. Sorry for disturbing you. My faves are … well so many I cant say. I just like music.

cindy khor: Hmm…I know what you mean. I am friends with some exs and not with others. Guess it depends a lot on the person.
Harmony: Yeah, I believe in that. You’ve loved the person once, why can’t you be friends? 🙂
Lev: Yeah, I remember everyone liked her. Heh!
    YingYang: Very WTF indeed. 🙂
campro: Nothing. It’s just that we’re not doing it. 🙂
Edi神: Nope, friendly hug is all dude.

Amy: I have the same problem. Too many exs. 😉
justin: I don’t know where Joanne is right now. In Kuching if I’m not mistaken.
raoul duke: Hmm…same here buddy. I wouldn’t call our relationship disastrous – it was fun, but it wasn’t exactly the best thing that we needed. Heh! 🙂
    It was great fun though.
eiling: The names are in a row one, kinda like yours – Faith, Hope, Cherie. It’s a Catholic thing, three sisters, named after the three tenets. 🙂
Grant (Intensecure): Yeah, I’m glad we can still be friends too. 🙂
chefmel: Haha! Not necessarily. Ya, I can imagine how that can happen from experience, but yeah, not all the time. I think. 😉
tzia: Yeah, that’s what caught my attention in the first place. 🙂
    Michelle: Yes, she’s from Kuching.
suituapui: We didn’t just go to 7Eleven, it was just the brightest place to take photos. 🙂
Cherie: I still remember two phrases from you:
    1. Hey stranger, watcha doing?
    2. When it was good, it was GREAT.
    🙂
It’s good to see you Cherie! 🙂
    Implosion: Haha! What? 😉
JW: Yeah I remember you commenting back then too. 🙂
Jade Zheng: Yeah. Quite funny though. Heh! 🙂
    paultan.org: Yeah, she’s a really nice person too. 🙂
    tom: Thanks tom! 🙂
No worries, I can see what you mean. Mom and dad, back in the days eh? Perhaps a couple of years earlier. 🙂
Good luck in your date! I wish you well, my friend.
    Take care!
WEEN: I didn’t archive anything. sixthseal.com is up courtesy of David in Melbourne who kept a copy of the HTML up to November 2006. Now I’m keeping archives, every single week. I don’t want to lose it again. 🙂
    cibol: Thanks!
Oh, we had a good “ending”, mutual break up, remained friends. 🙂
Mellissa: I wonder when my streak of bad luck is gonna end. :S
    chefmel: Thanks Mel!
    All is fine. 🙂
Choonie: I don’t think “unlucky” even begins to describe this year. 2009 is supposed to be good for Roosters. Oh well…
andrew: Yeah, I believe in remaining friends too, if possible.
See ya real soon buddy! 🙂
    beat_ram: Cheers mate! You’re back! 🙂
