Breakfast @ Mandarin Oriental and a police escort

mo fruit platter

Seasonal fruits with berries with a papaya smoothie.

mo bread

Basket of croissants, Danish pastries, lemon poppy seed muffins, breakfast rolls served with preserves, honey and butter.

pamela anderson bagels

Creamy scrambled eggs on toasted bagel with chicken ham, scallion cream cheese and grilled asparagus. This is also known (unofficially) as Pamela Anderson bagels. πŸ˜‰

bmw breakfast

I had breakfast at MO last weekend before driving down to Damansara. We had vouchers to spend for drinks and snacks and I got Xpax reloads instead coz I wanted the XXL bonus. Heh!

However, the best part is driving with a police escort (something you REALLY have to experience). The police stopped all traffic and even created a third lane out of a two lane road so we can speed through the middle.

I think this is the first and last time I’ll ever feel like a VIP. Now that I know what royalty feels like, I can die in peace.

  2. I used to have a lot of those when I did convoys in my previous car club. Had one all the way from here to Johor and the Spore Cops took over from Tuas all the way into the city.
Saikua is right, you can ‘buy’ these escorts for funerals..RM150..they do it as part of moonlighting..oni blinking lights but no siren coz not official.

  3. saikua: Haha! Great idea, I’ll remember to put that in my will! πŸ˜‰
Bangsar-bAbE: Exactly! I used to hate it too, but it kinda feels different (to say the least) if you’re the one being escorted. It feels like…napalm in the morning. πŸ™‚
It was really good, but I guess it’s coz it’s my frist time.
KY: Yeah, would be great to have it for work everyday eh? πŸ™‚
thenomadGourmand: Hmm…I’m not sure how much breakfast cost, we were there to drive down to Perak! πŸ™‚
Exactly, if you’re the VIP it feels damn good. πŸ™‚
Wilfred Yeo: You can buy the escorts? Ours had sirens, flashing lights and police doing fancy (and what looks very dangerous) maneavours to stop traffic. I thought you had to be associated with the government or something to get it.
Thanks for the tip, RM 150 for one bike or for an entire squadron of escorts? πŸ™‚
    urkuchingfriend: I don’t know, I don’t use it anymore.

  4. TheGunner: Hello there! Yeah, it was fun to have a police escort out of the city, it makes reaching the outskirts MUCH faster. πŸ™‚
    Cheers for the link. πŸ™‚
ah nel: Haha! Same here, I don’t have a good driving record from my constant acccidents but I was really careful with this coz it isn’t my car. πŸ™‚

  5. After 10 comments, no one said anything bad about police escorts. I hate to be the bad guy but IMHO police escorts should only be used for official functions (e.g. for the Agong, Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and other high ranking government officials to use). The police should be maintaining civil order rather than escorting people around for non official functions. Just my 2 cents la.

  6. xes: Haha! You have a point there. Talking about this I nearly ran into a police escort outrider last night coz the light was green and suddenly this bike came out of nowhere and stopped the traffic at the back of me. He was quite close to my car. It sure feels good to be IN the convoy though. πŸ˜‰
    Vickie: Yeah, it’s a nice place! πŸ™‚
