Parasailing @ Pulau Sapi, KK

parasailing me jerine

Parasailing! KK is well known for its water sports and we took a trip by boat to Pulau Sapi. The first thing we did was parasailing.

parasailing setup

It costs RM 180 for two people – tandem on a single chute. Jerine paid for the parasailing experience – cheers! I wanted to go diving but she doesn’t have a PADI license so I figured we might as well do something together since we’re on vacation.

parasailing boat

Anyway, back to parasailing – it involves the boat driving out to open water and the operators setting up the chute. You strap yourself into this harness and the entire trip gives you 15 minutes of pure pleasure.

parasailing the kiss

Eh, wrong photo – this is supposed not what it seems okay. It was decided that in the interests of science, we would see if it’s possible to express affection while the boat speeds along and you’re up in the skies! Just a friendly…er, peck on the lips. πŸ˜‰

parasailing tandem

You can ask the operator to customize the experience to your tastes – we went for full speed, full height and a full dip into the water until the shoulders.

parasailing dipping in water

It’s a lot of fun – unfortunately, we couldn’t go full throttle coz of the winds (parachute = wind resistance) but it was damn enjoyable.

parasailing tandem jerine

The experience is like nothing else – you just need to trust the harness and let go while being up, up, up in the air before dipping into the open waters of the seas.

However, being adrenaline junkies, we felt that it would be better if the boat had gone faster but with the wind conditions it’s perfectly understandable. One last note:

BEWARE OF JELLYFISH!!!!!111

  1. lisa: I would like to say that it’s not me and its Ganesh, my evil twin brother that comes out when I start to binge drink during the weekend but that would be insulting everyone’s intelligence. T_T
I’m sorry I fucked up. It was a vacation and we all had fun, perhaps a bit too much fun.
Nothing more happened – this was all!
gypsy-on-the-move: Yeah, the seafood there is SUPER AWESOME! Abalone for ridiculously cheap prices and other fresh catches from the seas. I love it. πŸ™‚
shimmers999: I pushed it forward – have other plans in April, more places to go! =D

It was a good vacation, tiring but FUN! πŸ™‚
The best part? Sharing our life stories, our hurts, regrets and hopes. That’s what made it memorable. πŸ™‚
ah nel: Haha! Yeah, it was just a friendly peck. Like Jerine said, we’re just bored and we’re just friends. Nothing else. πŸ™‚

Haha! No la seriously, parasailing can be quite boring when you’ve had the best of the best (skydiving etc) so ya like Jer said, just had nothing to do. πŸ™‚

oh ya, the abalone might have been cheap, but did you have any crayfish?

  6. Michelle Chin: Yeah, it’s quite fun but don’t expect an adrenaline rush. πŸ™‚
It’s more about the experience of being up in the air, looking at the view of the open seas and islands and then dipping into the water before going up again. πŸ™‚
rocket: Haha! No la, it’s nothing like that. Seriously, nothing else happened. πŸ™‚
Abalone was about RM 20 for a large one – this is fresh from a tank at a seafood restaurant.
Crayfish, almost ordered but Jerine is allergic to certain kinds of seafood.
Eh, you and your crayfish bro. πŸ™‚

  7. chefmel: Nice! I love watersports (both kinds – haha, kidding). Yeah, the problem with parasailing is the wind, if it’s too strong the wind resistance from the chute slows you down. πŸ™
It’s quite fun, at least an experience you should try once. πŸ™‚

  8. WAHHH… I went up there at Pulau Sapi too! I went up on a calm day, so there’s not much of a wind, but the fella dipped us in water and lift us up again, i was shivering!

It’s quite liberating to have the sea breeze (wind, more like) blowing in your face while you’re up there enjoying the scenary. πŸ™‚
MsXeRoZ: Nice! Yeah, we went for the dipping too – there are 3 options, feet only, up to waist, and up to shoulders. We went for the shoulders, wanted full immersion actually. πŸ™‚
Pulau Sapi was PACKED when we were there but we saw a HUGE monitor lizard. πŸ™‚
    ciki: Haha! Crap. T_T
    Damn Ganesh, always sabo me.
#musicmonday I’m a victim of my symptom, I am my own worst enemy. :S

  10. In my days, you don’t/can’t take Ah Moy all over the place or her father and/or brothers will bet the living day lights out of ya. Then you go to see Uncle and Aunty in CNY and if they like you, they give you an ang pow and that’s the seal of approval. So did you collect ang pow from J’s folks?

  21. Parasailing is cool. great pics. I love it. but it has its hazzards. and unlike the movies, you dont land in a fluffy pile of pillows. You can hit hard and get dragged. like water skiing. think of jumping of an 8 or 10 foot roof. water can be hard. you got to know how to land. its like the difference between scuba and snorkel. a vast difference. Padi certicication aint for nothing. I swim with fins and a mask and love it. but I am aware of riptides. padi is great. really good. but know the operator of the boat. I like to swim, but once 6 feet under, its a whole different world. like cave diving. I would never dare. caves on dry land are creepy enough, thanks. well, at least keep your tounge between your teeth. and sail, dive or swim cold sober. if like me, you need all your wits about you. you can have a beer or 7 later. but thats just me…

tom: Hello tom! Yeah, that’s why when you hit the water you have to make sure your feet is positioned properly. Snorkling is a lot of fun too, especially in Sabah where there’s a lot of coral fish and aquatic life. I took a lot of photos and videos underwater. Fun!
    Take care my friend! πŸ™‚
eiling: Yeah, it’s fun – definately something you have to try once in your lifetime – like skydiving! =D
