Monitor lizards roam freely about Pulau Sapi. I saw a huge entourage of people feeding it random stuff during our trip there, all at a safe distance.
They must be tourists coz if they were locals they would know that monitor lizards don’t attack unless you directly threaten it.
It was a good diversion though. Jerine promised me to bring me to this monitor lizard bak kut teh which I am rather looking forward too. I’m a big fan of exotic meat.
Experience the 5 feet monitor lizard! Kinda taller than you Aud! π
bak kut teh monitor lizard i never try…i tried b4 only fried with ginger and soy sauce…damn heaty…good for mens… π
ah nel: I’ve never tried it too! But I shall have a chance this weekend! =D
my advice…do not go with stout…drink beer as it helps cool down…
wild animals made one wont drunk easier and the best is wild boar… π
ah nel: I drink just about anything that has ETOH in it so I’m not very particular. Thanks for the tip though! π
next time we coincidence in kch i wil bring u taste all the wild animals…yummy… π
That’s darn huge considering that I have only seen small ones swimming in my father’s koi pond.
I have eaten monitor lizard since as a kid, but never in Bak Kut Teh. I believe it will be better than the crocodile bak kut teh which was not nice at all although the other crocodile dishes were awesome (yeah, Eddie told you it was alligator, but it should be crocodile).
eeewww… monitor lizard BKT?!! I’ll never eat it!
the signage which shows public toilet must be for the lizards. it’s so damn low which i guess it’s easier for the lizards to read where is the loo
monitor lizard meat actually isn’t all that tasty, a bit hard, or maybe my aunt wasn’t a good cook. :S
Ate that too. We had it with tempoyak. Nice. But I figure it is quite easy to eat that in Kuching. Anywhere after 7th mile.
Btw, I saw bigger lizard than the one in ur pic. Go to Tasik Harapan at USM. It looks like crocodile when it is swimming in the pond.
ah nel: Sounds like a plan! π
Michelle Chin: Yeah, the thing is at least five feet and large to boot! π
fish fish: Crocodile bak kut teh sounds good! I’ve eaten crocodile and monitor lizard too, but never in BKT. π
Ya, was wondering about that too, coz AFAIK no gators in Malaysia. π
eiling: It sounds awesome though right? π
Lvin: Haha! There was a lot of them but this one came out to the beach coz people were feeding it. π
KY: Yup, I’ve eaten it too but never in BKT, wonder what that tastes like. π
Chooniecom: Yeah, I remember a place somewhere in 10th mile which is basically a shack but serves all kinds of exotic animals – pangolins, bats, even bear paw! π
reptile is not fatty, that’s why the meat is dry and tough. can probabaly BKT, just slow cook for many hours using charcoal fire and hand fan the fire. Wah, J really sayang you a lot. Man, she wants your baby bad dude. You better collect ang pow from her folks. Oh ya, reptiles are rather tasteless, add a crayfish to enchance the broth.
rocket: Yeah there actually is monitor lizard BKT, Jerine knows where so I’m gonna go check it out.
No la we’re just friends! π
Haha! Bro, I’m starting to love you and your crayfish references. π
Exotic meat! Ahh i knw whr to take you for makan nx time. In puchong and got civet cats too!
thenomadGourmand: Awesome! Let’s go to Puchong! π

For me having a display that includes an IPS panel is crucial. I do a great number of video/photo editing and graphic design, consequently creating accurate colours is critical. It goes without mention the viewing angles of IPS panels are infinitely better. My partner owns a TN screen and you are unable to even movie your head without the colors shifting. With any luck OLED displays will come shortly. These even make IPS monitors look low quality.
secured credit cards I’ve been looking at alot of different for getting credit information. Cheers.
do the research engines prefer if you may have your own host or does it seriously matter? I was under the impression they did, but seems you say the opposite in your article?
