Jeriau Waterfalls is an incredible experience – imagine the cold hill resort temperature combined with the wind chill factor and a natural waterfall that isn’t heated (obviously). Intense. I couldn’t stop shivering. 🙂
It’s on the GPS but don’t follow that – ask your resort concierge instead. I brought my Sony Cyber-shot TX-5 along coz it’s waterproof. It’s just a 15 minute drive from Ye Olde Smokehouse where we stayed and the GPS will attempt to take you down a road that you shouldn’t access. It’s a feeder road.
Stop at the Jeriau Waterfalls gate (there are lots of cars parked so you won’t miss it) and it’s a 5 minute walk to the falls. Wikitravel says it’ a 15 minute walk but by my account it’s 5 minutes and we stopped to take interesting photos…
…like this hut which has an ecosystem of itself on top of the roof. My travel companion spotted this one. Perhaps the company was good so it seemed shorter so YMMV (pun intended) but be careful coz some spots are slippery. >.<
Jeriau Waterfalls is fucking cold. There is no other adjective to describe it. It’s as cold as a frigid bitch brimming with hatred, carrying enough emotional baggage that would cause even AirAsia to decline her wishes to pay 100 times the excess baggage fee.

Don’t be, coz it’s worth the trip. Sure, the water isn’t clean. FML I swallowed a mouthful of water and I nearly puked. The spray from the waterfall, the wind chill and the mist at Fraser’s Hill – it’s unforgettable.

Each time there is a waterfall near the place where I camp, I cannot help but to be scared…As you have said, it’s really cold.

I visited this place about 2 years ago. The water was cold but the air temperature was mild. I think the color of the water is caused by the sendiments. It is not polluted since there are no factories. FH is not heavily populated too.
I saw a group of Malays with their speed bikes going up. There is a nangka tree at the bottom of the entrance gate.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

well, hb it depends on mant factors. were i live in a moutinuse region, there are cold water rivers, and some slow and lazy ( like me ) it mostly depends on thee geograpy of the river.. like the nantaahala.. it is cold and clear but mostly runs over rocks… the french broad river, is slow. ans eventually empties in to to the broad river.. then tennesee, then ohio, then old missi ssi ppi.. which i have never seen. would i drink it, well no. have I ever ingested some. well, yes.lots i forget, some times that these landlocked places ( where I am) all flow to the sea.. not to sound environmental or hysterical but it is incumbent on us to be good stewards. and that is nice.. but who said we the ones in charge… well, we do the best as possible… that being said… they capped the bp well in a hurry. how? the put a wedding band on it. after a week, it would not put out… terrible, I know. but thanks HB its like gutta percha.. what? yeah a resiliant subtance i have a tooth ful of synthetic dont work.. bless you and yours, hb… tom
