I was making coffee when I accidentally spilled boiling hot water all over my hand. It had the side effect of creating a rather large blister between the web of my thumb and index finger.
The blister was filled with pus – it looked ripe for lancing when you form a fist.
I poked it with a needle and the pus squirted out like it was pressurized. It’s a good thing I took off the white shirt I was wearing. Heh.
Good as new! π
eeessshhh that’s gross. good thing i haven’t eaten lunch. did it hurt?
Lancing it? Nope it didn’t hurt.
It did hurt when I spilled boiling hot water over my hand though. π
Ugh Huai Bin you’re so disgusting! hate you so much for suggesting a pre-lunch read too! -.-
Haha! Sorry Alycia. π
It’s my totally irreverent sense of humor.
Ewwwwwwww!
Yeah, I was surprised to see three blisters. I guess boiling hot water isn’t too kind on the skin. π
#statingtheobvious
Ouch!!! And…eyewwwwww too!!! LOL!!!
Heh! It didn’t hurt at all when you burst the blister.
I thing spilling boiling water all over my hand hurt more. π
eh.. hahaha gross bro. Good as new.. good as new . lol!
Heh! Well, it’s going to leave a bit of a scar, the previous one where I got a similar blister during CNY while playing with fireworks did. π
KILL IT BEFORE IT LAYS EGGS!!
HAHAHAHA
+10,000
Nice one bro. π
aww aww awww!!! So painful!!
Nah, it’s not as painful as it looks.
The boiling water part hurt more. π
I guess it does! Blister is no fun as well. I got it on my toes usually from too much walking
Why don’t you burst the blisters?
damn disgusting la
Heh! Well, most things like this are. π
Looks really fun! π
I can guarantee you it’s not if you have an allergic reaction to plasters. π
You have to put antibacterial cream and plaster it over or else it’ll get infected.
I got a similar burn a couple of months back from fireworks. That was an intense flaming while this was just boiling water and the latter was worse, created 3 blisters bigger than the fireworks one.
from the first picture i can see how painful it is already. *refuse to look at the 2nd,3rd and 4th pic*
You know what’s amazing?
I took the photos using a cell phone. π
Looks damned painful. That first shot is amazing!
At the risk of bursting (lol) your alliterative bubble, it’s actually lymph, not pus. Beautiful blister loaded with lymph?
Yeah, I used a cell phone to take the photo! Granted, it’s a 12 MP camera at the back of the cell phone but I didn’t expect it to be this good. A pleasant surprise. π
Heh! Thanks for the alternative alliteration Katie! π
Lymph eh? Learn something new every day. I love loaded with lymph.
Cheers Katie! π
ewwwwwwwwwww
Yeah, it doesn’t look pretty, was testing out the cell phone cam more than anything. π
Yummeh!!!!
It tastes a bit gamey at first, then saturates your palate with a wonderful sweetness and ending with a lingering savory aftertaste. π
Beautiful blister? *faint*
I was in an alliterative mood. π
Bountiful, big etc would work as well but I chose beautiful. Heh. π
geli… >.< ~
Yeah, a bit.
It looks like a wart and it carries the skin texture on top, except it’s stretched out. π
OOOUCH!!!
It’s really not that painful. π
Hahaha… sarcasm… tsk tsk tsk. If a blister looks beautiful, i wonder how you’d describe a full-blown boil. Interesting. :p
Neat site btw.
Haha! Well, I’ll think of the appropriate alliteration when it comes to boils.
Thanks for reading Coffee Girl! π
plasma. pregnant with plasma
Awesome! π
In the future, if you ever get burnt, don’t you listen to old wives’s tales of putting sauces or toothpaste. All you need to apply is ice cubes. The coldness will prevent the heat from getting deeper into the layers of your skin. Yah, our skins have layers.
I never do anything when I get hurt or cut. I just let it heal by itself.
Yeah, having done unconventional piercings, tattoos and other related stuff involving pricking the skin, I know our skin has layers despite having failing Biology in high school. π
Thanks Yvonne! π
Always, always have ready ice cubes in your freezer for emergency, Ahh, put aside ice cubes for emercency lah. The rest of the cubes, use them for your partying..;;yay…!!!;-))))) Take care.
Haha! That’s a great idea Yvonne! π
Unfortunately, I don’t have the habit of doing preventive healing. I let it heal by itself and if it doesn’t I’ll just apply antibiotic cream. If topical doesn’t work, I’ll take a course of strong antibiotics.
Yeah, I’ve had septicemia before and treated myself coz…well, let’s just say I couldn’t go to a doctor and explain how I got blood poisoning. π
It was gnarly, not something I’ll want to experience again…
You’re brilliant for capturing life’s moments like these. Kudos!
Haha! Well, I thought it was quite interesting for the blisters to blossom that quickly.
Cheers bro. π
