After a long day diving and ATV riding at Boracay, we walked to White Beach to catch the sunset and I somehow managed to get my trusty flip flops stuck in the sand and the right pair finally gave out.
I could still use it by stuffing the bit that got loose back in β this pair has actually been relegated to my balcony back home, but it’s at best a temporary fix. It would come apart again at the slightest provocation, such as walking on the beach, or even sneezing for that matter.
I figured it was time to get new flip flops.
The first shop I went to had one I really liked but unfortunately they were not for sale. It’s a display only item and anyhow, it was soooo large that I could practically *sleep* on it.
I managed to get a pair for 400 pesos (about RM 30) at the next outlet but after I got back to the resort, I realized a little too late that it was slightly too big for me. π

lolol u reli wore it? can wear one?
Heh! Yeah, I really wore it, it’s wearable but obviously not practical. π
I wanted to display it at home, a souvenir of sorts.
Good grief!!! What interesting flip-flops they have there!
Yeah, the first one is not for sale though – the second one has a lot of different designs. It’s basically made of rubber and this one caught my eye.
Got you something personalized too – pass it to you when I go back to Sibu. π
Oooooo…that’s soooo sweet of you. So nice of you to always remember me when you travel. Thanks, buddy. Looking forward to getting it…
You’ve always been nice too to me too mate. π
See ya next time I go back to Sibu during election time. Cheers, looking forward to it!
Hey, buddy! You look thinner…and burnt! Ah well, as long as you’re having fun, that’s all that matters. Take care there! Enjoy yourself.
I didn’t bring sunblock. π‘
I was at Boracay getting all sunburnt – I had heaps of fun though! π
You know what they say about men with huge feet. HAHAHA
Thanks buddy, see you soon! π
I was smiling reading this post and viewing your pictures.
I’m glad a Malaysian like you went to our very own paradise in the Philippines!
Isn’t it a paradise? The sand is incomparably powdery and white, right?
Water is turquoise and crystal.
I hope you had fun!
Miss oue country so much (it has been only 7 months since we last went home from Penang).
Hello there! π
Yeah, I love the Philippines and Boracay in particular – the people are friendly, only bit was the touts that hang around, but that’s to be expected in any popular beach resort.
Loved White Beach – this time of the year, that side gets a lot of wind while Bulabog (the kitesurfing side) doesn’t. The water is beautiful too and I had heaps of fun.
Thanks bro and have a good week ahead!
hahaha thats some big feet you have. what word is on the shoe i cant see.
Heh. Those are joke souvenir flip flops I got for fun. It’s actually wearable but I’ll rather put this as as garish souvenir in my place. Hahaha!
It says “Boracay” on one feet and “Island” on the other. π
HAHAHA. you’re joking right? π
Haha! Of course, I was joking, put it under the category for it. π
Seriously though, EVERYONE was amazed by this β from airport baggage scanners to store owners β it seems like NO ONE has seen it before although itβs for sale. Probably coz Iβm the one stupid enough to buy it. Heh. Itβs was an impulse thing, one of those βsounds like a good idea at that time but where am I going to put it now things.β.
I shall figure out a way. π
love the first picture β₯
and.. the flipflop so gigantic !!! π
Haha! Yeah the flip flops are HUGE! π
It’s meant for either Godzilla or for display. Since I’m not the former, I chose the latter. Heh.
You can actually wear it though but it’s obviously impractical. I got it as a souvenir and it was a big talking point for everyone who saw it, even the flight attendant asked me about it. π
will work great in snow i reckon
I think it’ll be prone to slippage in icy conditions bro. π
Works great as a souvenir though. Heh!
=.= i’ll sure trip over gazillion times in that flip flop.
Yeah, I’m sure most people would. π
It’s not meant to be worn – it’s supposed to be a souvenir.
I don’t know anyone with feet that big – we couldn’t pack it into any or our bags and had to hand carry it. Heh!
Hahaha!! So cool one!
Yeah I reckon it was pretty cool too! π
Lots of people haven’t seen it before from airport security to cabin crew – makes for a good conversation starter, people approached me to ask about it coz I had to hand carry it aboard (won’t fit in any of our bags).
One of the customs officials and duty free personnel asked to borrow it and used it to hit each other. π
May I know which hotel did you stayed at?
I might be going next month.
Thanks : )
Hello Winnie! π
We stayed at Boracay Reef Retreat – it’s quite a good resort, nice and friendly staff, chairs on the patio etc.
It faces Bulabog beach so it’ll be perfect as a launch pad for your kitesurfing IKO license if you go in November – most kitesurfers move to White Beach during the monsoon season coz that’s where the wind is.
Hope that helps. π
must you really take picture at the toilet? haha
HAHAHA
I thought it would be funny and besides it was too dark to take photos anywhere else, it was the only place with florescent lights, all the others were incandescent. π
Hi,
Do you happen to remember the name of the shop where you bought those giant flip flops? I’m in London and trying to find pairs like that for a film I’m making. I can’t find a pair of giant flip flops anywhere! Are there any manufacturing labels on them?
Many thanks,
Jerry
