Break in at my house

break in

There was a break in at my place last night at about 2:04 am. This house still has the old skool glass shutters and metal grill which is rather easy to pry open. Apparently the intruder(s) carefully removed the glass shutters piece by piece and reached in to pry one side of the metal grill to gain access.

They even had the consideration to stack up the glass shutters nicely and leave the screws on the floor outside that window too. Thank you, the gesture is much appreciated.

Anyway, it appears that nothing was taken so I presume they didn’t manage to gain access after all. How did I know it was 2:04 am? I heard the house phone ringing and woke up to take a piss and heard the sounds of someone(s) beating a hasty retreat so I went down to investigate and found the grill pried open.

Oh well, at least this seems to be the work of petty thieves. There was another break in earlier in the year in which they took – get this – a pair of my jeans and a tin of Milo (no kidding). Thus, my most prized possessions, which are the photographs contained in my notebook and various USB drives and DVD-Rs are safe.

They wouldn’t be interested in that, I presume. πŸ˜‰

Don’t touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn’t understand
alloys and compositions and things with…molecular structures.

  1. LOL! your jean and a tin of milo. I lost my jewelry in my jewelry box at the house in Kuching to a house breaking thieves πŸ™ that’s why we have 2 dogs to guard our house in Sibu πŸ˜€ in case you need a German shepherd, I can recommend pure breed πŸ™‚

  3. so if they had taken your precious, they’d better have the sense to try sell it off. else, it would be like the scene from the movie zoolander… owen wilson and ben stiller with the mac..

  6. LOL Want to hire me as your personal guard? I am very “ganas” LOLs….anyway, when I was back one summer from school, our house alarm went off and I ran outside with a baseball bat and chased down this guy that was on his bicycle!!!! Who breaks into a house with only a bicycle as a getaway vehicle?

  7. thank God they didn’t get in..
fucking low life cunts that they are..
i suggest getting a baseball bat or a nice 3 1/2 foot bamboo pole, just in case.. you never know when you might need them.
and it’s also a good idea to target your arsenal of home-defense attacks to the lower body. eg legs, hips, groin.. this is so that when the coppers come, they won’t charge you instead with attempted murder or murder…
a single whack to the head/face to incapacitate is fine. but if the bugger of a burglar is armed (and not some tame petty thief).. then do your best to stay alive.. anything goes i guess

  8. Put your valuable items like digicam and notebook in somewhere that are not safe like in the store room and inside a flower vest maybe. Usually they will ransack your drawer and wardrobe.

  9. You are really very lucky. I lost my few months old laptop last year and just a week ago, my parents’ house was broke in. Lost a few thousands of valuable stuffs plus our lovely puppy. Still mourning for him.

  10. Tom: Eh, these are petty theives. Robbers come in through the front over here. πŸ˜‰
(=’.’=): Thanks! I prefer cats though. I know they don’t do jack shit to prevent intruders but I’m not really a dog person. Do you have any pure bred cats that is yearning for a loving home? πŸ˜‰
vincent: I’m not a dog person. I don’t have the time to bathe them either. Cats are more suitable for me. It cleans itself so I only need to feed it and pet it. πŸ™‚
I like cats, the shape of their lips makes me smile.
Bert: Haha! The Denim and Malt Drink Gang. πŸ˜‰
ront: I have no idea. I didn’t pick up coz it wasn’t my cell phone, but the fixed line. I hardly pick that phone up coz it’s downstairs. I assume it was a concerned neighbour who saw them breaking in. Or it could be the theives checking to see if everyone’s asleep but that would be a pretty stupid thing to be doing WHILE breaking in, so I think it’s probably a neighbour.
suanie: I would be seriously Pissed Off (TM) if my precious was taken. πŸ˜‰
I wouldn’t want them to sell it off either, that’s exactly what happened to Edison Chen. πŸ˜‰
Mac sent for repairs, employees saw compromising photos and uploaded it on the net. Saham turun. I don’t really care about my share value since it’s so low, it’s almost delisted, hardly on the Second Board anymore. It’s the Others (TM) in the pictures and videos that I’m concerned about. πŸ˜‰
MI!: Haha! Well, I don’t really mind them taking articles of clothing if they want it so badly, but not my data. πŸ™‚
Skwermy: Yeah, it’ll be great! You can be my official personal guard, fending off people trying to get at me. I must warn you though, it’s a very tough job, a lot of people hate me. πŸ˜‰
OMG! You damn fierce! I like! πŸ™‚
How would he get away with the loot on a bicycle? Puzzling, unless he’s going after high value targets like cash and jewelery.
Wuching: Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This…is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart’s top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That’s right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It’s got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That’s right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that? πŸ˜‰
Fist of Asia: Well, I do have an…er, edged weapon in my room, which is purely there for decorative purposes, so it’s perfectly legal and all that. I think it’s of dubious efficacy though, coz if someone breaks in wielding guns or a gang of robbers wielding parang, a single person with a sword isn’t going to be able to do much. There’s also the problem of the defination of self-defence. If a home intruder is armed with, a small knife and you go after him with a samurai sword, that’s assault and attempted murder. If he comes in with a gun, you won’t be able to do much anyway. It depends very much on the situation and what they’re after. Some things are worth risking your life for (saving another person you care about) some things are not (RM 3,000 in cash). πŸ™‚
jessy: The USB drives are all 8 GB ones. I have to have high capacity drives coz each photo is over 3 MB. I’m thinking about getting 16 GB ones nowadays. Haha! Albino black man. πŸ˜‰
Roland: I don’t mind my digicam being stolen, it’s more about data (photos and videos) that I care about. The former can be replaced, the latter can’t. My USB drives are all very well concealed though. Hell, I even lose track on where I keep them sometimes. πŸ˜‰
nkwai: I don’t know, it must be a very poor thief to want just jeans and food. But there’s a lot of petty theives like that. You’ll be surprised at how valuable your tin of Milo is to some folks. πŸ˜‰
Choonie: OMG! Any compromising photos in the laptop? They also dog-napped your puppy? Evil people.
Darren: Yeah, they’ll break in and just get anything. Pretty brazen huh, breaking in on New Year’s day.
Iris: Yeah, I assume it was one of the neighbours who saw the intruder(s) climbing in and trying to break in.
freezingthemo: Indeed! Those are the notches in my belt, er…I mean, the good memories that I have. πŸ˜‰
Seriously though, losing a years worth of photos is pretty depressing. I lost that much when I came back from Australia coz of a faulty hard disk. πŸ™

  13. Get a samurai ready and learn to chop chop hiyaa!! Wah, you have quite a collection of USB drives heh? Yes, it’s the data inside the USB drives, camera/laptop that is priceless. I lost my big, thick photo album when I moved to KL from Johor last time. Imagine my frustration. Damn!

  14. calvin: Yeah, even if they broke into the house, they’ll have a hell of a time getting stuff out from that small hole. Unless they plan on opening up the entire grill once they’re inside. I wonder how these people operate.
vincent: No lar, scared it eat me later.
Simmy: I don’t really like dogs though. I prefer cats. πŸ™‚
Bert: Eh? What’s the reason behind doing that? How does it work?
bongkersz: Yeah, I know what it feels like mate. I lost a 200 GB hard disk with 1 year of photos too. I feel for you buddy.

  15. it’s just a kampung superstition, practiced mainly by Dayaks. back in the old days even the Chinese living in the kampungs use these things. thieves or intruders would be scared to enter the restricted area protected with these hanging bottles. originally it’s supposed to be “blessed” by a shaman or something before putting them to work, but just to fool people they just hang ’em there πŸ™‚
the effect? supposedly killing the person who’s intruding. they also use eggs as mediums. i don’t know how to explain but if u ever heard of Polong (not Pochong) then you know what i mean.

  16. i guess that grill isn’t functional at all. my friend in rejang park said last time, the whole row of houses is broken into, the mess is phenomenal, glass broken, locks pried open, and no one woke up. they came to a conclusion that they were drugged… or fumed…

  17. Simmy: I want!!! Seriously, I’ve been longing for a cat for a long time ever since my last one died. I would take care of it really well and it’ll be an indoor cat. I will sleep with it and it shall drink milk with me. Rest assured, she would have a good home with me. πŸ™‚
I prefer a female cat. Can you spare a kitten? I can imagine a lot of lolcats posts on sixthseal.com in the future if I get a cat from you. Thanks!
Bert: Interesting! Thanks for the explaination. I’ve heard of toyol and pontianak, but not polong. What does it look like? Oh, and I’ve also heard of a flying woman’s head with long hair. πŸ™‚
Just the head, and it flies but no body.
suituapui: No, I sleep with shorts and a t-shirt. But I had an erection from urine retention though, probably that’s what scared them. Afraid I will liwat them. πŸ˜‰
clementwpy: Glass broken and no one wakes up? Jesus Christ, they must sleep like the dead. Gassed, hmm…highly unlikely that petty thieves would have access to such substances in enough quantities to dose an entire house.
It’ll be very hard to drug an entire household too, and the return on investment has to be taken into account e.g. how much they have to pay for the drugs to drug the entire household (not to mention how they’re going to slip it into food or drink) vs how much they expect to get from the goods stolen from the house.
I’ll like to see them drug me with benzos though, with my high tolerance. I’ll probably still be awake. πŸ˜‰

  19. alexallied: Hmm…I don’t really mind, but I have this trust thing going on with the girlfriends I take photos and videos with, and I don’t want to ruin that. I don’t mind compromising videos of me on the net, but it would damage my ex-girlfriends reputations. I don’t want to mess up their lives.
It’s not that good anyway, since the camera is static (obviously, since I’m not a porn star it’s just positioned and set to film). I have never shown the videos or photos to another person (not even a current gf) so I’ll like to keep my reputation on the trustworthiness thing. πŸ™‚
Simmy: Simmy! Thanks a lot! I really want a cat right now to love. I just got out of a relationship (she chose the fiance) so I need to direct my love at something else. I’ve always loved cats and will treat it really well.
I will call you, I seriously want a kitten. πŸ™‚
Er…where can you get a lint remover in Sibu? I have one from Melbourne but I misplaced it. It’s always a problem with cats sleeping in your bedroom. They shed fur on your office wear and you have to de-lint it.

  21. eugene: I’m sorry to hear that. Keys? As in car keys? Yeah, it’s always in my room coz I dump my Stuff (digicam, wallet, cigarettes + lighter, car keys, cell phone) on the desk in my room when I get back so it’s all in the same place and ready for me when I leave. πŸ™‚

  22. Just say a little prayer for this petty thief & hope everything goes well for him. I had ran out of cash for me family many times to the point that pulling out even a ten dollar bill is such a hard thing at the time. (Don’t get me wrong. I’m not him).
This petty thief is really not very experience. He is no expert in my judgement, and could even be in his first time or 2nd time.
Just offer a little prayer and hope he has the best for his family! I can say no more. It’s too hard to explain. If I had not been through difficulties in my life I would never have said these words, honestly.

  23. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Its always so pleasurable and full of a good time for me personally and my office colleagues to search the blog particularly thrice weekly to study the new items you will have. And of course, were at all times pleased with your stunning tactics you give. Selected two areas in this article are undeniably the most efficient we have ever had.
