The Cave

the cave

No, this is not the movie or any natural structure. The Cave is a concept cafe for couples. It’s designed to look like an actual cave.

cave toilet

I was a bit taken aback when an ex coworker asked me if I wanted to go there for dinner. I thought she was hitting on me. *perasan*

…but the truth is much more mundane. She just likes the pasta there.

cave interior

This was back when I was still at my previous company. I only remembered about The Cave when I got a text from her. She is using Xpax so I wouldn’t be surprised she’s taking advantage of the XXL bonus.

I think the decor and ambience is great.

cave food

The food was pretty bland though and since The Cave has super powerful industrial strength Godzilla air conditioning, it gets cold REALLY FAST.

cave couple

It’s great for couples if you want privacy and all that, but honestly, the food is nothing to shout about and you better be a really fast eater coz it gets cold in like…3 seconds.

  1. do you know that there is a penis right outside the cave? if u looked at the concrete arch from the side, it looks exactly like an erect penis.
anyway, of coz cold…couples are supposed to keep each other warm what.

  2. HB..solly lah, you are not my hero anymore, because two days liaw, no photo of Ah Moy in your arms.
As for your year long travelling, here’s a tip for free accomodation. When you are flying to your next exotic location, check out the cute ah moy on the flight. Be friend then and offer your services lah, you know lah, many people these days want children but no time to get married. Co-parenting these day very vogue one lah.
You should follow my new hero, Tiger Woods, he is very cool one. And I don’t think ever paid for accomodation when he travels.

  3. hey Jacqelyn…no, not strange at all. Friends can also go on a date, but HB says the food is a bit crap, so that takes a pleasure out of the date.

  4. The pictures look very nice, and you reckon that it’s great for couples? Bland food is a minus, but I’ll check it out on the strength of the ambience. I noticed that you didn’t post the address. Would be much obliged if you could provide it. Thank you.
    By the way, great blog.

  5. That toilet looks cool but totally does not meet health standard of most other countries as it is a germ trap. Those magazines must have poos and pees…I am not touching those… Yak .

  6. dude, thanks for this post. You’ve just saved me some bucks. I passed by that restaurant last weekend and thought of bringing my family there.
ShaolinTiger was right about that giant cock which is so obsence!

  7. Why is it Malaysian toilets are always in such a bad state? Like tehre is never any toilet paper and it’s so smelly, makes me want to vomit just talking about it.
HB…you have to blog on tis matter

  8. ciki: I don’t like the food there too. :S
Ryan: It’s mid range actually, cheaper than say, Itallianes. πŸ™‚
kimberlycun: Heh! I didn’t notice the penis. Nice concept though. πŸ™‚
Jacquelyn: The food isn’t great too. :S
rocket: Haha! Tiger Woods eh? I don’t get wood that often, old dy. πŸ˜‰
Cheers: …and it’s made to look like a cave! πŸ™‚
rocket: Yeah the food is crap and it gets cold too fast.
eiling: I guess they do a lot of Valentine’s business though. πŸ™‚
ah nel: Yeah, I’ve been there! πŸ™‚
hitomi: Their air conditioning isn’t contributing a lot to the environment. πŸ˜‰
ShaolinTiger: Haha! Yeah, I agree about the food part. It’s crap, I don’t know why my coworker found it good.
takeshi: Cheers! The place is in SS2. πŸ™‚
Dylan: It’s in SS2, the price is decent, cheaper than most e.g. Itallianes but the food is crap though.
xSean: …the air conditioning ruins the whole thing. It’s too cold and chills the food too much.
Celln: Haha! Yeah with the nooks and crannies in the rock. πŸ˜‰
eddy: Yeah, and easy to find coz of the design. πŸ™‚
PJ Old Towner: No worries. It’s definately not a family restaurant! πŸ™‚
rocket: Oh, this one isn’t smelly. I’ll er…find a smelly one and blog about it. πŸ˜‰

  9. > I agree about the food part. It’s crap, I don’t know why my coworker found it good.
Obviously your co-worker is NOT interested in the food. Well, well, well, is there something that you are not telling us? Is this the future Mrs HB? Who is this co-worker, any pictures?

  10. KY: Yeah, the interior looks nice though. πŸ™‚
rocket: Haha! No, that’s all there is to it. It happened a couple of months back, we were working on a Saturday I think and she just suggested going there. πŸ™‚

  11. the toilet room looks so scary! i am wary of “caves”, last time i went into a cave, it was at an amusement park here in china and it turned into an awful turn-you-upside-down ride… o_O;;; btw, why all the air conditioning? do they want to make you feel like you’re actually in a cave~~? ^^

  12. tamstar: …that actually sounds like fun to me. πŸ™‚
Yeah, I don’t know why. I guess it’s for couples to hug and all that to keep warm. πŸ˜‰
Dylan: Yeah, it’s not exactly a neighborhood spot for me now too. πŸ™‚

  13. This site seems to get a great deal of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice unique spin on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to talk about is the most important factor.
