Seremban Siew Pau

caydence seremban

Caydence, the self-dubbed Princess of Seremban, brought me around her hometown for a food tour – the best of Seremban’s offerings. It is rather ironic considering that she doesn’t eat that much to begin with (understatement of the century). We went to three places, two of them with her folks who insisted on paying for everything and even bought me Seremban siew pau to bring back.

seremban siew pao

Seremban Siew Pau is a crispy BBQ bun filled with pork goodness.

I remember someone saying that you can get Seremban Siew Pau in KL now…

…but nothing beats the real thing sourced from Seremban.

I wholeheartedly agree!

  2. I find the Seremban siew pau on the dried side. In fact, the siew pau in kuching taste much better. Be it the filling or the texture of the pau…well, some may disagree on my 2 cents

  3. ah nel: Yup! The fact that it’s called SEREMBAN Siew Pau also suggests that the best ones are bound to be found in Seremban. πŸ˜‰
Oh thanks, I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear that. πŸ™‚
napzzz: I’ve had both – pros and cons for each one, I agree. The Sarawak version has more gravy in it. πŸ™‚

  4. Holy crap. My stomach isn’t happy, still recuperating from a bad acid reflux, courtesy of over-indulging earlier on.

why did they not just talk to each other. was this really necesarry? Holey smokes, I hope the next generation is a little smarter than ours… but I still got a 30.06 a 12 gauge, a .38, and various knifes, and belive it or not, a bow and some arrows… guess we aint come so far, after all… its like the western tradition of shaking hands… jut checking the other guy dont have a knife up his sleve… and if you think turning this over to ladies is gonna make it better… well, think aagin…

  11. I agree with suituapui, kai joo lane is best. Some people say the first shop is better than the second, and vise versa. I personally like the 4D shop across the road, very “heng”.
I still can’t work out why you haven’t offered her a ring already. She is not getting any younger you know.
