Simei Singapore Style

eastpoint green

Helllooooo! I’m in Singapore for the long weekend for a bit of a family reunion. My dad is flying in too – we’re basically here for my mom. I’m crashing at my sister’s apartment – Eastpoint Green in Simei (at least I think that’s what this place is called, it’s in Changi).

I’m about to fall asleep so I’ll just do the good ol’ cut and paste from my earlier post in FB:

Holy shit my mom’s chemo treatments costs SGD 12,000 per cycle of 3 weeks!

She just competed a full course of 3 cycles for 36k.

…and I thought *my* medication is expensive.

She’s looking good though – just a bit bloated from all the liquid that’s transfused together with the chemo via IV drip every two days.

Tumor marker went down to an all time low so she’s going for another course to capitalize on it. Starting a new course of chemo.

Hi mom! πŸ™‚

P/S – I took out the dash in the smiley face emoticon that my Android phone keeps putting in, I personally prefer the compact smiley so it’s not technically a verbatim cut and paste. Haha.

P/P/S – Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone!

  1. Your mom looks well in this picture compared to the last one you posted. Hopefully the battle is going to be won and she will be ok. My best wishes to her and all of your family.

    • Thanks bro! It has ups and downs, you can never really get rid of cancer, it’s not even in remission and it’s been spreading for a long time. 😑

Oh well, we are optimistic and trust that everything will be fine.

Thank you for the kind words and support mate!

Heh! I uploaded some to Facebook and Instagram. It’s a short trip this time but I’ll be coming more often. Catch you next time and thanks for the well wishes!

    • Yeah, I don’t know how her chemo works per se since she’s taking two kinds – a highly targeted oral tablet for small cell lymphoma cancer and the regular once in two days IV injection drip that bloats her up.

She looked rashy yesterday though, but fine again today.

Thanks Mich, for the well wishes! πŸ™‚

  2. HB, your mother does look better than past picture. My late grandmother pass away from lung cancer and she never smoke or any body in family. She live up to 70 years old and that still long enough for her have seen a lot in many places still.

My cousin wife from Singapore told me to try the kopi when I in Singapore I still never got around to do so. If you able to try a cup let me know.

    • Yeah, but sometimes she looks like her previous photo too – I think it’s the chemo IV drip that bloats her up and makes her look healthier. πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear that, my mom doesn’t smoke either – small cell lung cancer happens to non-smokers only. 😑

    • Yeah, tumor markers are down – this is brute force therapy – using aggressive surgery, chemo and radio to force the tumor markers down.

It’s still spreading though but hopefully it’ll all be alright in the end.

Thanks Charmaine and happy holidays! πŸ™‚

    Take care.

No need to FEAR CANCER now!

This is for your personal health education – it is important to know
and do, if ever you need it. Remember, Chemotherapy and Radiation
kills the patient before the Cancer kills him.

This is a true fact – you can ask your friends who are doctors.
Doctors recommend Chemo and Radiation to others but will NEVER take
this road if they are a victim of Cancer!

Remember, long time ago, I was helping my good friend who had Nose
Cancer. I travelled with him all the way to Penang to search for cure.
Well, today he is still alive, has been free of Cancer for 6 years and
is now helping others who are in the same straits, through a NPC (Nasopharyngeal Cancer) organisation.

I met him last week and he said again – No need for Chemo and
Radiation. Got to believe a person who went to hell and came back
alive and well! And is now a helping others to survive Cancer.

He said you need three things to survive Cancer attack:

    1. Juice fresh Papaya leaves and stalk to drink.
    2. Boil Lemon grass and drink as water.
    3. Eat Apricot seeds to kill the Cancer cells.

He said Apricot seeds is nature’s Chemotherapy. It is cheap and
natural. Chemo kills you – it kills everything – the collateral damage
is total. Apricot seeds which contain natural cyanide kills Cancer
    without any collateral damage.
