My mobile Zumba session at Kelana Jaya Park

me zumba

I was at Kelana Jaya Park over the weekend for a very invigorating session of Zumba. It’s always good to get a bit of exercise in, and I must admit that I sometimes lack the motivation to get off my lazy posterior and work it.

However a Zumba session is very different – it features fast bass-driven music and you always feel more energized to exercise when there’s hot and happening tunes playing! πŸ™‚

There was a bit of rain on Sunday but the mobile Zumba session went on anyway after it cleared up! I went ready with my track pants and a workout tee. The certified Zumba instructor is Sharon and I loved the pumping music and fast paced workout! I even got a video of myself at the Zumba session. Heh.

I loaded up with some NESTUM 3-in-1 before the hour long Zumba session in Kelana Jaya Park too, which helps a lot with energy. There was a NESTUM 3-in-1 Truck at the venue, giving out free cups of NESTUM cereal.

NESTUM is one of my favorite hot cereal brands – it’s something all Malaysians have grown up with! My parents would always get me to eat something before I go off to primary school and when I wake up late, I’ll fix myself a cup of NESTUM and I’ve loved the taste of the fragrant cereal ever since.

There’s a huge range of delicious and whole grain products such as NESTUM 3-in-1 and All Family Cereals now. I personally love the fragrant aroma of the Original but you can also get Oat, Honey and Chocolate. All of the NESTUM 3-in-1 variants has the goodness of whole wheat, corn and rice and it’s a great way to uplift your day!

I couldn’t get the NESTUM tune out of my head too – you might have seen the tummy tapping dance on TV and online and I tried to incorporate into the Zumba workout. I was even humming the tune the entire night, which drove my better half nuts! Haha.

The Zumba session is actually organized by NESTUM and it’s FREE for all members of the public to attend. The NESTUM Truck has been going around town every weekend now – there’s two slots every Saturday and Sunday (8:30 am and 5 pm).

The Era FM crew was there to get the members of the public at Kelana Jaya Park to join in the Zumba session and soon enough there’s a whole crowd of people moving to the beat. It’s a great way to get some exercise in – a healthy lifestyle does wonders to your body and mind!

Here’s a video of me at the Zumba session.

My first experience with Zumba was actually at the Club Med Bali resort and I’ve loved the concept ever since. If you haven’t tried it out, I can guarantee you that you’ll love it! You can burn calories while doing exercise that’s actually *fun*.

  1. My friend, Merryn, was at one like this too, with her kids – dunno if it was the same one. I love Nestum – nestum biscuits, nestum cake, nestum prawns… Yum! Yum!!!

    • It should be if it’s by Nestum! πŸ™‚

Me too! I love the SMELL and taste of Nestum. It’s soooo good, nothing else can beat the smell, it makes me crave for it!

Hmm…I think I shall make some Nestum bread. I made chia seed bread (two loaves) last night.

Hope you enjoy the Zumba sessions.

Haha! Yeah, I’m not good at following instructions, but surprisingly I STILL remember a lot of Zumba moves (it’s a bit like some yoga moves) from my time in Club Med Bali last time.

  2. I have been eating this brand of Nestum all my life since a toddler until now. Look at how fit I am.

People need a change always in life including the exercise steps. This Zumba craze is popular now as it suits both young and older generations without hurting their limbs! I realised this while watching the Zumba session while on cruise. You looked cute and funny! Good for you HB.

    • Yeah, I love it too! πŸ™‚

It smells really nice, you know it’s Nestum as soon as you smell it.

Zumba is very popular now, went for a class in Club Med Bali couple of years back and had a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun here too. I’ll always be the first to join something that looks fun, am more of a doer, not a watcher. I see a lot of people just watching but don’t dare to join in, which is just silly.

I still remember a lot of the moves but not for this one. A friend of mine took this video, should have asked him to film the previous one coz that was the one where I remember the moves. Thanks! I was just mugging for the camera. Haha.

  3. Nestum & Zumba sounds like a good combo, haha.. I grow up with Nestum too, mixed with Milo – always. Til now. I give the boys Nestum with condensed milk too, nice. Don’t laugh, sometimes Nestum with Bovril. Don’t yuck first, taste ok, can eat la, haha.. Of course I’ve heard of Zumba, but actually I dunno how the dance looks like.. I know aerobics, yoga, line dance (how they look like), but never tried it for myself.. You look cool in black, really!

    • That’s interesting! πŸ™‚

Nestum and Bovril! I haven’t tried that before but you certainly piqued my interest. I’m going to try the combo – I think it sounds good, umami of Bovril with the smell of Nestum.

I’m going to bake Nestum bread first though – used up all my chia seeds from baking two loaves of bread last night – one for me and one for my better half. I still have a lot of Nestum from the event so I want to try to use that to bake Nestum bread. It’s 3-in-1 packs though so I think I have to omit some milk and sugar from the bread recipe.

Zumba is a lot of fun! The instructor was moving too fast for me to catch on but I still remember a lot of the moves from Club Med Bali. I had one where I knew all the moves but was too into the session to video it, I only asked my friend to video after I was done with that song. Haha.

Thanks! That’s my standard workout outfit, usually all black is pretty hot but the material from the adidas shirt is good so it wicks sweat right away.

Go for the next session Kathy, you’ll love it and it’s free anyway. It’s a fun way to exercise since there’s music so you don’t feel as bored or tired.

  4. Zumba is a fun way to exercising. Nestum 3-in-1 I even tried their ginseng and tong guai test products. Nice but a little sweet, I prefer savoury.

    • I’ve had their ginseng one too! πŸ™‚

Yeah, I know what you mean, I like the slightly savory taste of Nestum Original. I don’t have that with me though, gave a tin to my better half but I still have the 3-in-1 packs.

I’m going to try and bake Nestum bread with them!

        • It doesn’t work very well! πŸ™‚

We tried it the other day, the Nestum gets absorbed into the bread, so you can taste it but the texture isn’t there. Or maybe we just need to put in more!

Haha! Yeah, I’m not really good with following the dance steps. I need a bit of time to get into the groove of each song and this was just starting. I’ll always be the first to get into it, am more of a doer, not a watcher.

I REALLY got into the previous song though – so much so that I forgot to ask someone to video me then. I remember all the moves from my previous Zumba session – even the name of the pose (but it was done with inflatable balls when I was in Club Med Bali). Cheers!

Haha! I was just fooling around in this one, mugging for the camera more like. I couldn’t catch the dance steps since the song just started. I did remember the previous song though – I REALLY got into that coz it was the right song that pumped me up and I also remembered all the moves from my Zumba session in Club Med Bali (which we did with inflatable small balls in our hands).
