World Suicide Prevention Day 2015

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. I’ve seen a lot of resources offered to people who’re contemplating (Befrienders etc) which is good and all, but some people don’t want to talk and they’re past the stage where they want to talk.

If you’re one of those people, I can totally vouch for this site. I had linked it in the past, in 2004 and it’s a very good read.

It has helped a lot of people and I highly recommend taking a minute to read this before you decide anything:

If you’re thinking about suicide, read this first.

  1. HB, in San Francisci is pretty bad in suicide. My co-worker killed herself a few years ago due to she could not get a job in chemical engineering. She had a degree in it too.
She also was bi polar and was on med. The same med doctor gave her was one that she use to killed herself. Her aunt was a nurse use had took control of handling her the med everyday but no doctor let patient took it themself big mistake.

Every few weeks on BART(subway) someone jump off to track and died very badly mangle body too. San Francisco had always had lot suicides . Yet my mom suffer from
kidney illness waiting for donor would like this person to give his or her organs before killed one self. If you do not want to live than give you organ to someone who does and fighting to stay alive what they need .

    • Yeah, I have friends who have gone through the same too…

Even myself, I have gone though dark times in the past, especially when I was using methamphetamine heavily. I used to be on all sorts of antidepressants, anti-psychotics and bipolar meds too:

I really don’t believe in them, Prozac made me MORE suicidal (and I actually acted on it) – this was before the days of “black box warnings” and class action lawsuits against Big Pharma when people finally figured out that Prozac and other SSRIs/SNRIs/NARIs make you (strangely) suicidal when you’re normally not.

I’ve been clean for a very long time now and I’m glad for that but I still remember how bad your mind can mess with you and I admire the person who runs the site – it’s totally non-profit, he/she doesn’t even earn Amazon referral points for the books it recommends, the website is there to help people and it has helped me in the past, which is why I’m passing it on.

Sorry to hear about your mom Vickie…yeah, ideally that would happen in a perfect world but most people don’t want other people to know it was a suicide, so single driver car accidents are a very popular way to go, you can collect death benefits if they can’t prove that you killed yourself (if there’s a suicide clause in your health insurance).
