The pain! The pain is too much!!!

ming tien taiwan sausage

I’m sure you’ve heard of the legendary Super Spicy Taiwan Sausage at Ming Tien food court. I was a bit dubious about this claim at first since I can take a lot of heat. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that their claim of super spicy is actually for real.

I’m not a wuss when it comes to Scoville units. I believe that more is more (versus less is more, geddit) but when I requested for a super super spicy sausage it was…quite an experience.

I’ve always maintained a healthy disregard for spicy claims due to my high tolerance to spicy stuff so I convinced the guy to let me add some of the chilli powder to the spicy sausage.

This is where the disclaimer goes. Don’t rub your eyes after your fingers come into contact with the mean wrapper. It’s infused with chilli powder and your sensitive ocular devices won’t ever let you hear the last of it.

Most of the people I went with threw in the towel after one bite (some even BEFORE they ate – just from smelling the chilli powder). I love it though.

Taiwan Sausage is located at Ming Tien food court in PJ. You have to order the super spicy sausage for the complete and unedited experience. It goes for RM 2.30 per sausage. This phallic shaped meat of tough love is sure to thrill.

  1. 1st!
Last time my friends and I made another friend eat the super spicy sausage without warning him. He took it so badly until he rubbed his eyes with the spice from the sausage XD he cried uncontrollably.

  2. xes: Haha! Yeah, I accidentally touched my eyes too. It’s quite uncomfortable, couldn’t open it for a while and it turned red from irritation.
I love the spicy sausage though, very spicy stuff! πŸ™‚

  4. Wow, that’s S&M to the highest degree. X_X HB, do you usually bring along your dslr when eating out? Just in case you do, have some mercy on him and make sure the chili powder did not come into contact with that poor soul.

  6. this spicy taiwan sausage was the most spicy food i ate and It was quite torturing even with my high tolerance for spicy food (guess, yours is higher! hahah) and funny thing was I didn’t expect it to be that spicy and ask for more of the chili powder (which i regretted a lot later). Hahah

  7. Irene: Yeah, I have! It’s not as spicy as this sausage though – fuyoh, this is about on par with the maggi goreng extra pedas at my previous place. πŸ™‚
    Bangsar-bAbE: Everytime…every single time. T_T
Haha! It’s worth it though. πŸ™‚
foodcrazee: The trick is to not touch your lips while eating it. Bite with your teeth instead. πŸ˜‰
    patricksars: Not very spicy????
    Respect bro. πŸ™‚
Even I found it spicy. Heh!
Cheers: Well, not always but I usually do when I go to new places. My compact doesn’t really produce the results I want so I just use it for video. πŸ™‚
gypsy-on-the-move: It’s at Ming Tien food court – turn left after the Kelana Jaya LRT station (with 7 Eleven/Pathlab/Marcos Pizza/King Crab on your left) and drive right in. πŸ™‚
ah nel: Haha! I get that sometimes too…and the next day is a bit of an ordeal when you sit on the porcelain throne. πŸ˜‰
eiling: Heh! Okay! Let’s go together and see who eats the most! =D
chefmel: Me too! The first time I didn’t really believe it would be spicy since I can take A LOT of spicy food so it caught me by surprise. I don’t tear up or anything like that but I love the tingly feeling on my tongue and it sure is spicy compared to most of the stuff I’ve eaten here. πŸ™‚
thenomadGourmand: Oh the J&R one doesn’t compare to this in terms of spiciness. This is REALLY SPICY. =D
    hitomi: No. πŸ™
This was an old photo, been there a lot of times but didn’t take photos of myself after the first time. πŸ™‚
ShaolinTiger: Hahaha! Ya man, I imagine the burning sensation if you had to take a leak after eating that with chilli powder on your hands. πŸ™‚
Michael (Mike): I sometimes get diarrhea after eating the really spicy maggi mee goreng extra pedas (almost half of the dish is chili) but I still love it anyway. Worth it, IMHO. πŸ™‚
Michelle: Yeah, but I still think this is pretty damn hardcore. I’ve had spicy Szechuan food before too, but I guess I’ll have to go to China for the real deal. =D
Yiling: It is wrinkly, it’s Taiwan sausage, not the normal hotdogs. πŸ™‚

DF118: Eh, the sources you have is wrong. πŸ™‚
Mukah, Sebangkoi etc were all my ex girlfriends and they are definately not naive (all older than me).
Anyway, thanks for the vote of confidence but most of what you said isn’t true (except for the junkie part) but it’s like that saying eh?
You can argue till you’re blue in the face and your enemies still won’t believe you and you don’t need to explain to your friends coz they already know you’re not like that. πŸ™‚
Thanks for reading though and appreciate the kind comments.
See ya in 5 years? πŸ˜‰

  11. I remember years ago 2002 i think, me and my highschool buds went over there and usbeing young and you can’t beat me down to the ground, we decided to take the super spicy and add 2 extra coats of chilly and reheating it to make sure it sticks…….
if you wanna know what happened, there’s one lamp post to the right of the stall where the tables are at…… it was so freaking spicy, we ran out of water and i was punching it so much just to put my mind away from it it’s loose till today xD

  13. If this is the Ming-Tien in Taman Megah, years ago it used to be RM1.60 and I’d order two as an after meal snack – I’m not much of a dessert person :).
