My newborn nephew Josiah and my grown up niece Kara

This is my two month old nephew. He’s named Josiah and weighs 7 kg! πŸ™‚

I love how his folds of baby fat makes him look like a little emperor. Heh. He’s quite heavy for his age, a nice weight to carry around.

…although a pram makes more sense. Haha! I was out shopping with my parents and my sister’s family in Singapore a couple of weeks ago and I can appreciate how hard it is to take care of a baby. I still would love to have one though. πŸ™‚

This here is my niece Kara, who’s all grown up now. She’s almost 3 years old and she can already string a sentence together very cohesively.

She’s already very mature and it never fails to surprise me how fast babies turn into kids. It’s amazing, the thing she says and does, more of what I’ll expect from a 7 year old than a 3 year old. πŸ™‚

    • Heh! I know right, he’s so adorable! πŸ™‚

My sister makes him do mild exercises by crawling in the morning to strengthen his neck. He’s going to be a big guy, this one. πŸ˜€

He’s really placid too, doesn’t mind me picking him up even though it’s the first time I’ve seen him in real life. πŸ˜€

    • Heh! I just noticed that! πŸ™‚

Totally like a boss. I like how chubby he is when he hasn’t outgrown his baby fat.

Kara (my niece) used to be a bit chubby too but is quite skinny now that she’s grown out of it. πŸ™‚

  1. HB, how wonderful a dragon nephew. Just like you and your sister she older and you younger. Watch you older sister like to boss younger siblings around.

    • Yeah, he’s a dragon baby, I don’t know if it was aimed to be so or just a natural progression.

Exactly! My sister’s family configuration is similar to mine – one older sister, one younger brother. It’s about the same age gap too. πŸ™‚

  2. hohoho uncle HB. when they grow up more you can be the ‘cool’ uncle that does cool things that their parents prohibit. heh! every family seems to have one.

    • Heh! I think I’m the *only* uncle so I guess that makes me the cool one by default. πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I think so too – or it could be cousins who are much older. πŸ˜€

      Cheers bro!

    • True that! πŸ™‚

Yeah, it’ll be good to watch him grow up, he’s more placid than my niece at that age. He doesn’t mind people picking him up as much. πŸ˜€

    • Indeed he is! πŸ™‚

I love carrying him though as he is only 2 months old, neck support is required when you hold him. It’s a bit tricky for me coz I don’t have kids on my own but I can manage. πŸ˜€

      Thanks mate!

    • Heh! Yeah, that’s the thing about kids, especially when they’re so young.

They wake up so often and there’s a lot of stuff you have to schedule around the kids, see my sister and brother in law doing it all the time. πŸ™‚

    • Singapore is short of doctors? I didn’t know that.

Yeah, my sister is a doctor, don’t know about the good money part, I don’t ask about her finances. πŸ™‚

Well, I think they’ll grow out of it but I’m not a parent so I wouldn’t know for sure. πŸ™‚

My sister gets him to do short crawls to strengthen his neck in the morning. πŸ˜€

Indeed, they really surprise me, I don’t know if every generation feels this way or kids are *really* getting smarter.

      Cheers Charmaine!

Yeah, that was the first photo I posted up, he reminds me of the Michelin Man too when I first saw him. This is the first time I posted my newborn nephew’s photos. He’s cute and cuddly! πŸ™‚

      Thanks Eiling!
