Greetings everyone! I’m in Melbourne right now for a couple of days with Ling. That’s her right there.
The photo was taken right in front of the tram stop at Rydges on Swanston, where we’re staying. It’s AUD 680 (about RM 2,100) per night!
This is the Victoria Public Library in front of Melbourne Central Station. I haven’t been back in about 10 years!
A lot has changed since then – MyKi is required for trams and trains. It’s a pre-loaded card that allows you to travel by just scanning it on public transport. It was still old school plain cardboard tickets when I was in Melbourne in 2003.

Big M milk! There’s all sorts of flavors and 1% fat versions now. I remember blogging about this when I was living on campus in 2002 – there was a Big M Banana Flavoured milk giveaway on the campus shop the same month I *started blogging* due to the expiry date coming up.
Best photo bomb ever! Haha! It’s our first overseas vacation together. In a sense, this was how we met. The HIMYM story is actually slightly longer than that but how we started our relationship was due to this Melbourne trip. 🙂

I used to take the 100 mg caffeine pills to stay up. Equivalent of one cup of coffee per tablet. There’s a 200 mg version too. Can’t really get this easily in Malaysia, while it’s sold at 7 Eleven here. 🙂

I’ll usually drink Coles store brand 5 liter monsters though. Big M is the stuff I drink for fun.
Yup, just got Tim Tam + 1.25l Coke for AUD 5. Added AUD 1 for a candy bar. They always have great deal combos – it’s cheap if you don’t convert.

It’s just across the road from Melbourne Central Station where I get off usually. You’ll be hard pressed to take a photo without people making out, or at least some form of PDA, unless it’s winter.

I didn’t know Myki was out that early! I thought it was new. Heh. I do miss the old cards too but I guess the new ones are more environmentally friendly (no paper) and user friendly (easy to keep in wallet and just use it instead of the old cardboard monthly passes). 😀

Oh My God! That place cost RM2100 a night!!! I will be in Shanghai for 6 nights next week and the total cost of hotel rooms is just that sum of your one night. LOL

Yeah, it was Formula 1 season during that particular weekend so hotels were at full occupancy!
It could have been worse – the others was over AUD 1,000. Oh well.
You’ll love Australia then – there’s always a limited edition or new candy coming out. It’s a test bed for stuff like that – the demand is there. 🙂

We just celebrated our anniversary. I really do love her and I’m lucky to have her.
