Family trip to Langkawi: Day 1

subang airport

We have arrived in Langkawi!

kids

(with two little checked in luggage)

fried durian balls

After eating at two fast food joints in a row (granted, one had some pretty awesome deep fried durian puffs)…

balcony pool

…it’s the room with a balcony and a pool view!

jumping on bed

The kids are jumping up and down on the bed in anticipation of the swimming session later in the evening.

family langkawi

The adults are planning to crash for a while to rest them tired ol’ bones. smirk

langkawi

I’m planning to get a rental car tomorrow so we can get around town – seems like the best way to get around Langkawi – which is not an island, but 99 individual islands, or so I read on the brochure.

    • Nope, that’s a private jet! πŸ™‚

I didn’t win the jackpot, unfortunately. Haha!

I got close though – 2069 came out a couple of draws ago but I didn’t buy on that day.

Langkawi has changed quite a bit, came here in the past few years.

  1. Oh yes, every smart traveler would rent cars to go around Langkawi Island. I visited that island recently after 30 years absence and it has become a lovely resort to me. I really enjoyed the cable car ride to enjoy the view and long walks at the beach. Have fun HB & Ling! Treat her good ok! I suspect you have lined up some surprises for her as usual. LOL

    • Yeah, you need a car to get around here! πŸ™‚

I was here two times in the past few years – first time was at the Rhu though, just stayed at the resort. Pretty nice place.

Good thing here is the duty free stuff – not so much into tobacco and alcohol anymore so it’s more quality chocolates for me.

Although I’m on the lookout for some rare beer.

Yup, you really need a car to get around here – prices are reasonable too!

We’re planning to get one tomorrow.

I fell asleep just now coz I was just sooooo bushed.

Ah, to be young again! The limitless energy! I remember the fond times I had with my parents when I was the same age.

Yup, we’re having fun here! I was just thinking about parasailing – lots of them going around at the beach in front of our hotel. I don’t think I can convince the better half though. Haha!

Indeed! I’m going to have a look see tonight! I’m keen on rare beers (of all things) nowadays – unless I see a nice single malt Scotch that I like of course. I seldom drink now, but I’ll go for a limited run craft brew. Cheers! πŸ˜€

    • Nice! Have fun in Langkawi! πŸ™‚

I think it’s a nice place for a family trip! I can still remember my childhood vacations to Langkawi when I was in primary school – the black beach etc.

It’s strange how memories from these formative years can stay with you.

  4. Hahha…the kids just can’t wait to go to the pool by looking at your 4th photo. Well, at least they get to spend abut 2 hours at the pool on the first day. I guess you were pretty exhausted too after babysitting them, dear. Hugs tightly!

    • It’s all good dear! πŸ™‚

I had fun with the kids too! Too bad the smaller one was afraid to go into the big pool so can only go to the two smaller pools with her but I can go to the largest one with the bigger one.

It’s good dear, I had fun and we switched the next day.

This was a very fun trip for me dear! <3
