sixthseal.com celebrates its 7th blogniversary today and in remembrance of that, I have made a 10-minute video documenting the progress from Melbourne to KL to Kuching to Sibu and back to KL.

Notable posts of the year:

Marina Bay Seafood Restaurant
JCI Seduan Wet & Wild Pool Party
sixthseal.com Guide to Eating Live Sago Worms
The evolution of Chinese names

Nuffnang Music Bash 2009

It’s been a long journey and I’ll like to thank everyone for reading the chronicles of my life…

…and to show my appreciation, I’m going to buy the first 50 people who comments on this post lunch.

RM 10 each x 50, straight into your bank account via TT. Please ensure that a valid email is provided so I can email you for your account details.

As a bonus (and also to round up the figure to RM 600) I’m going to give the best comment RM 100.

Yes, I’m broke but I’m also feeling generous. :p

Thanks for all your support; I couldn’t have done it without you.

Long live sixthseal.com! =D

  1. Arrrggghhhhh….
I give up – YouTube recognizes the sweet tracks I’m using in the video so I’m forced to use AudioSwap.
Just think of the first part as having Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up and the second part with Eminem – Cleaning Up My Closet.
My 10 minute audio extravaganza with the music matching the scenes…dashed by Intellectual Property.
    Curses. :p
P/S – I’ve uploaded a Director’s Cut video, you can download it straight off my server if you want. It contains the original BGM I wanted. 🙂
This does not count as one comment. 50 more to go. 🙂

  4. Happy 7th anniversary! 🙂 7 years is a long time to blog. I did read you way back when and have known about this blog since, but wasn’t a regular because it was too scary, thought it could draw me in to places I didn’t want to be in. Because I could emphatise and understood too much! The nosebleeds and so much more sent me scat 🙂 What brought me here in the first place you may wonder. It was the English. You’re one of the few who are a smooth read! Glad you made it this far after all that’s happened all those years, hope your life gets better and better! Cheers!

Insofar, you really seems to have ran into a series of baaaaddd luck, hopefully it’s the end of the staircase….
And things will change for the better….

  6. hello huai bin,
it’s nice of you to offer rewards for people who comment on ur post, however i think you should keep the money seeing the situation you’re in now, and also the common word people always use – recession @.@
however, if you really wanna thank your readers and so on, maybe instead of giving them cash, you could invite them go out yam cha makan makan..
so called sixthseal.com-readers-gathering-cum-makan-session, that would at least be better than rewarding money lol~
if u really happen to be organizing one something like that, do count me in! 😀

im not doing this for the lunch nor the money. but hey, 7 years is friggn long. what hv i done in the past 7 years?
i was in high sch. just a lil kid not accomplishing nor experiencing half the things u already have. well yeah, i’ve always wanted to seek new experiences, try new things (and hopefully not get addicted) that are deemed bad. ive stayed into the ‘bad’ side many years ago too just like u (but obviously uve been waaaayy a badder ass than i have) but in the end, most importantly. is where we are now. we only get to live once, so why not try everything?
    i condone that XD
i guessed u lived to see that idiom come true as well. thumbs up bin. =D

  22. Well this is for you sixthseal, I still remember where you get the name sixth seal. From the same chapter I give you this..
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
“Thy kingdom of the world has
    become the kingdom of our
    Lord and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever”
    -Rev 11:15-

Instead of you thanking us, i think we should thank you instead. Your posts never failed to make my day! I read them everyday (almost like a newspaper) the 1st thing I wake up in the morning and every fresh post made my day!

  25. Seven years.. Wow. It felt like only yesterday when you asked if I followed sixthseal.com and I gave you a blank look and said “What’s that?”
Not long after, you tried to convince me to follow sixthseal and to read your old entries. I told you I don’t believe in broadcasting our life’s journey to the world, but you taught me that it isn’t a broadcast neither a publicity. It’s a record of the sequence of events that happened over the years, many of which, after its occurrence, we would too soon forget. Someday we’ll go through it and it will help remind us of the good ol’ days – and it’ll bring a smile to all our faces.

  37. I think I only stopped blogging for less than 1 year. I was still at the now defunct FireElement.com during 2007 when I finished by first and second rehab. It was the dreaded 3rd rehab that took a lot of time. So technically, sixthseal.com is 6 years old. 🙂
All comments later, I gotta get back to work. Lots of stuff pending. :S
I’mm compile the list tonight, I don’t know if it’s already hit the 50 comment limit since some people don’t want it but there’s till the best comment to try out for. 🙂

  38. Okay, I’ve got a lot of questions about why I’m forking out RM 600 when I’m so damn broke I’m eating instant noodles everyday from the people who’re around me everyday.
Well, the answer is AGAPE. I love sixthseal.com – it’s an unconditional love, I can’t explain it, I love it more than I love myself, as twisted as that sounds…
    …and that’s what agape is, essentially. 🙂

    Reply
  39. Many happy returns, you may not be the most famous but you definitely are an icon.
p.s. Doesn’t agape mean “brotherly love”? As in when Peter replied Jesus, “I agape you” when Jesus was asking for his unconditional love?

I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.

If you don’t brain myself asking, what’s the name on this style as well as is it a custom made affair? It’s a lot better than the actual themes or templates I take advantage of for many regarding my own sites 😉

Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

But maybe you could create a little more in the way of content so people can connect to it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two photographs. Maybe you could space it out better?
