Seremban Beef Noodles

seremban beef noodles stall

Ask anyone what Seremban is famous for and you’ll get a unanimous answer – beef noodles. Seremban beef noodles is unlike any I’ve ever had, it’s made using different noodles and has a lot of frills to it (the down-to-earth kind of trimmings).

pasar besar seremban

The penultimate (wah, damn a lot of hyperbole in this post) Seremban Beef Noodles is located at Pasar Besar Seremban.

seremban beef noodles

It’s unfortunately numbered 748 which translates to “go die la” in Mandarin. This is the original stall – the Genesis of Seremban Beef Noodles, if you will.

seremban beef noodles caydence

This photo fake one. Caydence doesn’t eat beef (or anything else for that matter) so I ended up eating both bowls.

seremban beef noodles soup

There are dry and soup versions of Seremban beef noodles. This is the latter. I like the broth but it doesn’t have the oomph of the former.

seremban beef noodles dry

The dry beef noodles on the other hand is fucking awesome. It contains generous portions of beef (various cuts and even innards) mixed with noodles and topped with a special black sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds and peanuts.

I think the brilliant bit about Seremban beef noodles is the texture of the assorted offal of beef combined with the noodles and the Crunch Factor (TM) of the peanuts.

seremban beef noodles caydence me

I highly recommend you detour into Pasar Besar Seremban when you head down (up?) to Seremban. The beef noodles alone is worth the 40 minute drive.

Of course, if you have *cough* other incentives *cough* to drive there, then all the better. πŸ˜‰

  3. Haha I was trying to ask the same question that Debbie asked! Nah I know she’s your friend, clever answer eh but it doesn’t satisfy that question! XD
    Girlfriend or female friend? =P

  4. Vickie: Yeah, this one is local to Seremban, I’ve never had dry beef noodles like this before too! πŸ™‚
ewen: Hakka noodle shop eh? Yup, I’ll definately go the next time I’m in Seremban – which would be soon, I guess since it’s not that far away. πŸ™‚
Ryan: Hahaha! I am going to stick to my guns and say female friend. πŸ™‚
suituapui: Yeah, the soup one lacks the taste (very nice broth though). The dry beef noodles is the one to go for – the sauce is awesome and the peanuts and sesame seeds complements it well. The dry one is the famous one.
KL there’s one right smack dab in the middle of the city, will bring you there when you come over. πŸ™‚
liyen: Okay! Since it has the official endorsement by Li Yen, I shall go and check it out! πŸ™‚

You say she is your girlfriend, then you other female friends will ditch you.
You say she is female friend, then she wont go goo-bak mee with you again. ha ha ha ha
She is very pretty, keep up the good work.

  6. HB…just saw the two earlier posts.
    a. You are staying in her sister’s room
    b. her folks buy you food in TWO places.
Last time I did that, I had to give her a ring. So can we expect wedding bells from you anytime soon?
Here is a tip, don’t mess up the sister in laws room and DONT wipe it on her curtains either.
Otherwise she will hold a grudge till you die, man, and that’s a very long time. ha ha ha ha

  11. Hey bro, I really opened your blog at the worst time man. It’s 1am over here, with hot-ass-shit weather, and I’m starving. Just by looking at the Pasar Besar Seremban pic is killing me, as there is an awesome Hakka Mee stall there as well. Try the next time you’re there man!
The beef noodles there is awesome as well, but if I’m in Seremban, it’s Hakka Mee for me.

  12. Marlboro Guy: Yeah, I’ve heard about the Hakka Mee as well, was told by my friend. Unfortunately, I couldn’t fit so much stuff in one day. I’ll definately check it out next time I’m in Seremban! πŸ™‚
    Cheers mate!
fish fish: Oh, you’ve been to Ah Ho as well? I brought Ed there when he was in Sibu last time. Ah Ho is good, but this is a different kind of beef noodles. I’ll say both has it’s own merits. πŸ™‚

    Reply
  14. mickey: Hmm…I haven’t had Hakka Mee in Ipoh so I wouldn’t know. It’s pretty close though (unless my geography is completely off again) so can do both in one day. Will revert on this. πŸ™‚

  15. wah, you are a really bad boy. you take advantage of both daughters and you are not offering either of them a ring. I don’t think you will be getting another invite anytime soon. ha ha ha Just kidding mate.
By the way, I still can’t work it out, why are you sleeping in her sister’s room? Won’t it be more logical if you sleep in Caydence’s room and the sister won’t be so to-lan at you. And yeah, stop wiping on her dress, chicks don’t like that. ha ha ha ha

  16. rocket: Eh, that didn’t happen. :p
Haha! Well, it’s the only room available. so that’s why I was spending the night there. πŸ™‚

  17. Yes, the Beef Noodle and the Hakka noodles are great but only people from outstations or those back from overseas eats them, the ordinary people of Seremban dont eat them anymore, kinda sick of it.. oh no, not beef noodle again, arghhhh

  18. Ah Boon: Haha! That’s coz you can eat it all the time while we can’t. Hmm…but that doesn’t hold true for kampua noodles in Sibu – the locals eat it all the time for breakfast and supper and everything in between. πŸ™‚

  21. nsightful thoughts here. Are you certain this is the best way to look at it though? My experience is that we should pretty much live and let live because what one person thinks just — another person simply doesn’t. People are going to do what they want to do. In the end, they always do. The most we can yearn for is to highlight a few things here and there that hopefully, allows them to make just a little better informed decision. Otherwise, great post. You’re definitely making me think! –Barry

I thought, at the time, that if seeing her suffer so horribly didn’t make me quit, nothing would. Yet I continued to smoke. I’m not proud of that. I hated it, I wanted desperately to quit, but I continued nonetheless.
