The Best Day of My Life

riding bicycles

Greetings everyone! I am back after a short hiatus – major stuff to sort out and everything is peachy now. In fact, I just had one of the best days of my life with my dear and the kids. It was actually quite a simple thing, I wonder why we didn’t do it earlier.

bicycles

We got a bicycle for the little one (second hand, person is moving out of the country) for just RM 40 and the big one got a new (and larger) bike for RM 200. There’s one bicycle at home I got long ago from MyProScooter, which is for adults and one day after work we just took the kids to the park!

happy us

It actually started out with me trying to ride the new bicycle with the little one while the big one is finishing her school. She had a quick dinner after that and we all cycled to the park. The kids kept wanting rides so it was the most exercise I did for to date! I also had to cycle with my dear at the back – we tried it the other way round, but she couldn’t even start cycling coz I was too heavy. smirk

setting sun

I gave so much rides and raced with the big one so much that I felt like puking. It didn’t help that I was still wearing my work clothes so I overheated and was nauseous for a good hour! I had fun though, and so did my dear and the kids. It’s the wholesome family fun that I’ve always wanted to have and I’m glad we did that!

The funniest thing was watching the little one run with her short legs chasing after her sister. Haha! Too cute. The simple pleasures in life are the best.

It was nice that I could take a lot of awesome photos with just my phone too, which reminds me…

Short mention:

tranfering smartphone data

I’m using my Sony Xperia Z1 [link to my review] now and I’m constantly amazed at the new things that it can do. My previous phone is a Sony Xperia S and I used the Xperia Transfer app to sync everything on my old phone to the new one so it’s up and running.

xperia transfer app

The Xperia Transfer app can be downloaded from Google Play and it works for *all* Android devices. What if you have a Windows or iOS phone? Sony PC Companion and Sony Bridge for Mac (it’s an executable on your new Sony Zperia Z1 smartphone – just connect the microUSB) performs the same function.

how to use xperia transfer

Thus, whatever platform you’re using right now, you can do a direct transfer of your data, contacts, photos etc into your new Sony Xperia Z1 so you’ll be ready to go! πŸ™‚

    • Yeah, it’s an awesome phone! πŸ™‚

I love my Sony Xperia Z1 – best phone I ever had, powerful and I’m using it with SmartWatch2 too! Gotta do a review on that, it’s an awesome watch that syncs with the phone via NFC!

    • I think Android is much more user friendly than iOS/Apple now, and more flexible, especially with the custom widgets in the Xperia Z1! πŸ™‚

I’ve used all kinds of phones and this is the best I’ve had so far. The design is sleek too, and it’s waterproof to boot!

  1. Love that first shot of you cycling with the little one! a nice reminder of childhood times, when cycling around the neighbourhood was one of the evening pleasures we’d look forward to! i remember cycling with my sister, with classmates, and now am feeling kinda sad that it’s not quite something i can do again and expect to feel the same emotion, heh. but anyway, wishing all of ya plenty of fun hours ahead with the bicycles! πŸ˜€

    • Yeah, I used to cycle a lot as a kid too! πŸ™‚

We’ll have our mountain bikes and cycle all the way to school (which isn’t very far away in our hometown). It’s not something you can do nowadays though, I see less and less people doing that, even in my hometown.

Safety issues with cars (we also had cars back then) and general perceived (and real) threats in society. Alas, thus is the price of modernization…

  2. Aawww.. you made me wanna ride a bicycle. I bought one from a friend at RM200.. and put it at my car porch. The next thing I know when I want to ride a bicycle and I realized it was stolen. Thief nowadays !!! T__T

    • Haha! Alamak you only knew it was stolen when you wanted to ride it! πŸ™‚

I can understand though, I wouldn’t know if anything went missing from the porch too, especially if it was in a corner or something.

    • I must admit, the past was fun but it’s just a stage in life! πŸ™‚

Nowadays, life is even better! No more partying till the morning (or for days) and getting wasted but then it’s a different kind of fun, and you start liking the domesticated life more as you get older and older.

It’s just part of growing up. I don’t miss the old days, but I’m glad I experienced them. Now, I’m experiencing even better and more fulfilling things! πŸ˜€

  3. You looked cute like a huge gorilla on the small bike!!!

I must take a good look at SONY’s phones now that my friend also mentioned that they have good designs and functions. I only owned once some 10 years ago and they always hang like crazy!

Many people are surprised when they see my phone coz the security is not a PIN or something boring, but the front camera turns on and a moving mirror image appears on the screen. I use facial recognition! Haha!

It’s got so many more awesome features too, I feel like writing about some of the better ones.

The Sony phones now and Sony-Ericsson phones back in the days are two different things! It’s way better now.

    • You never forget how to cycle! πŸ™‚

Once you know, you’ll be able to pick it up again. I last cycled in Korea, it was fun but doing it with the kids was more fulfilling!

It makes no difference what you wear, it’s just the comfort level. It was a hot day that day!
