I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Kit Kat Rubies launch at The Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel. This is in fact the worldwide premiΓ¨re of the Kit Kat Rubies as the opening launch is in Malaysia β that’s right, we’re the first ones to get it! π
There were selfie props at the photo wall so I decided to take one with Aud and the two girls dressed up in Kit Kat Rubies attire. They’re supposed to take a photo of us, but I thought it’ll be nice to have a photo with them flanking us. Haha.
The event started soon after that and Mr. Sachin Goel (Business Executive Manager, Confectionery Business Unit, Nestle Products Sdn Bhd) and Mr Thierry Martin (Innovation & Renovation Manager, Confectionery Business Unit) went up for the launch gambit.
It was our first look at the Kit Kat Rubies packaging…
…which opened up to show a beautifully crafted two-tiered box which opens up both ways to show off an array of Kit Kat Rubies!
This gem of a chocolate is individually wrapped and contains an indulgent piece of rich chocolate truffle filling with a crispy wafer centre, and pieces of hazelnut encased in silky smooth milk chocolate. The chocolate truffle cream is created from the finest ingredients brought in from Spain and the crispy wafer centre stays true to the Kit Kat name.
I had a chance to go up while Mr. Thierry Martin was conducting a chocolate making workshop and mixed my own liquid chocolate. This was an extremely fun experience for the media, each of us got the opportunity to make our own chocolate bar with the ingredients we wanted!
I opted to put everything except nuts into my chocolate since I wanted to make this for my better half and she didn’t like chocolates. I had these to choose from:
- Strawberry pieces
- Chocolate crumble
- Crisped cereal
- Almonds
- Hazelnuts
I mixed the top three together well in my liquid chocolate before pouring it into my mould. We had name stickers on the moulds so we won’t mix it up while it set. I actually took a photo of the ingredients we had to work with and used Whatsapp to send it to my dear to ask what she wanted in her chocolate.
It took a while for the chocolate bar to set but as soon as that was done, it was packed up and I rushed to pass my better half her personalized handcrafted chocolate bar:
We were the first to sample the Kit Kat Rubies and there was a lot going around during the Kit Kat Rubies launch. It’s really indulgent β I loved the chocolate truffle and hazelnuts inside the silky smooth milk chocolate that holds it together. The crimson red individually wrapped pieces adds a touch of class and makes it perfect for sharing.
Kit Kat Rubies is an ideal gift for the festive season too β the 2-tier packaging is beautiful and it’s perfect as a gift! No matter the occasion, be it Christmas (it lasts for 12 days), New Year, or even Chinese New Year, Kit Kat Rubies would be an excellent gift. It works for birthdays, celebrations or even just giving for the sake of giving.
I loved the Kit Kat Rubies launch, especially the chocolate making workshop and the unveiling of the product β it was a lot of fun and all of us enjoyed it immensely. I know what I’m going to give as gifts for this festive season! π
I love kitkat too. Love the packaging. Very attractive.
Yeah, it’s very nice eh Kathy? π
I love the new packaging too! I got a box and gave it to my better half and the kids and they still have the bottom tray left.
That’s nice … making chocolates !! Everyone loves kit kats and it’s nice to be there. The kit kat girls looks gorgeous ! π
Yeah, it was a lot of fun making that bar of handcrafted chocolate! π
Yup, we’re both HUGE FANS of Kit Kat too, we’ll get them wherever we travel to. It’s nice to see Peanut Butter Kit Kat Chunky in hypermarkets but these Kit Kat Rubies are the best!
You look really yau ying in the first picture.. Errr wait, you were the only guy there ahh? I mean looking at your last picture, hehe.. Very good experience, making chocolates alongside with the chef and also *ahem* meeting lengluis, teehee.. Most of us grow up with Kit Kat and this is something new.. Can’t wait to try it if I see it..
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making (and eating) the chocolates too! π
Yup, it was great to have Mr. Thierry there to teach us the in and outs of making chocolate and share secrets on how to make good chocolate.
Haha! I wasn’t the only guy there, there were lots of other guys. It just so happens that I was the only male in the group photo of all the bloggers together.
Yeah, it arrives just in time for Chinese New Year too! It’s perfect as a gift or just to buy to put at home – visitors would have an easier time with individually wrapped Kit Kat Rubies!
That red colour sure makes it an ideal gift for the coming Chinese New Year, very auspicious. Hint! Hint! Wink! Wink! LOL!!!
Haha! Indeed it does! π
I’ll bring a box back for you this Chinese New Year since it’s new! I think it’s great to get for guests and visitors too coz they’re individually wrapped so it’s more convenient to put them out during open house.
so nice you all get to make your own chocolate bar!
by the way.. the second photo.. the first girl on the left… i thought is a guy with long hair at first… >.<
Yup, that was the best fun I had in a long time! π
Making a chocolate bar, and a handcrafted one that I choose the ingredients for too. It was amazing to hear Mr. Thierry talk about chocolate and I learned a couple of things for cooking with chocolate later too.
I am a Kit Kat fan and munch them almost everyday! Oh I love the name Kit Kat Rubies too! Nice name and I am eating the Strawberry Kit Kat which some kind soul brought back from Japan..
I was also attracted to this position Innovation & Renovation Manager!!! So canggih and suits me.
Yup, we’re huge fans of Kit Kat too! π
We have Kit Kat at home always, and I get the imported Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter bar, which is my current favorite. The kids love the regular 4-finger Kit Kat and I like them too. It’s a household staple.
I’ve got a lot of interesting Kit Kat from Japan too, and I know which Strawberry Kit Kat you’re talking about, I had it too:

I have a friend in Japan (now moved to US) who would always send me the interesting Kit Kat from the region, they have the most amazing packaging and flavors, including a Kobe Rose wine Kit Kat!

Speaking of Kit Kat, remember to check out the special (and sometimes weird) flavors they have here when you’re visiting Japan!
Thanks Vincent! π
I’ll be sure to do that! We’re both HUGE fans of Kit Kat and the ones from Japan are amazing! I first came to know of them when a friend of mine was studying in Japan and would bring back the amazing Kit Kat (such wonderful flavors and packaging) from the region.
OMG. Jane chuck *screammmmmmmm* hahahahah!
Btw, please send me the chocolate! send me send me send me!
