An ode to DF118 (Dihydrocodeine 30 mg tablets)

df118 smile

DF118 [sixthseal.com] has got to be one of my favorite easily obtainable prescription opioids. It’s great – in fact, it’s so good that I just had to make a tribute to it. The 30 mg dihydrocodeine tartate (DHC) tablets are arranged to form the words D, F, 1, 1, 8.

There is a happy emoticon at the bottom too – commonly known as a smiley.

DF118 shares a lot of aspects with codeine, except codeine gives a better nod compared to DHC, which has a strange stimulant quality to it. DF118 is twice as strong compared to codeine and it’s great for staving off opiate withdrawals (and getting off as well ;)) and the addition of hypnotic benzodiazepines like Dormicum (midazolam) can produce the much sought after “opiate nod”. πŸ™‚

Excuse me while I enjoy…er, I mean, force myself to consume this horrible medication which I have to take as an abortive migraine remedy. πŸ˜‰

I shall reply all comments tomorrow.

df118 making of

Guess how many 30 mg DF118 tablets this arrangement contains? =D

Hershey's Swoops – Irresistible slices of chocolate candy!

hersheys swoops aisles

Hershey’s Swoops is a relatively new product which is the epitome of chocolate research and psychological studies. Okay, maybe it’s not that groundbreaking, but I still think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread! The official description goes “Hershey’s Swoops are curvy, solid chocolate slices delivering an indulgent, mouth-melting experience”.

hersheys swoops

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Swoops retails for RM 12.90 and comes in cardboard canisters containing three snack-pack cups, each containing six Swoops slices for a total of 18 slices of chocolate. Slices of chocolate. You heard me right. Hershey’s Swoops is chocolate slices shaped and molded in the vein of potato chips (crisps). OMG!

hersheys swoops box

The back of Hershey’s Swoops has a photo of the delicious slices of chocolate in actual size. The text goes “Hershey’s Swoops are the essence of your favorite chocolate candy. The unique shape envelops your mouth in chocolate bliss. Take a moment to experience Swoops…anytime, anywhere”.

hersheys swoops cups

The cardboard box of Hershey’s Swoops opens up to reveal three individually sealed cups containing 6 slices (slices!) of chocolate. I like the snack-packs design although I feel it’s redundant since you can’t just eat one!!!11oneone (as Lay’s would put it…damn the person who invented potato chips / crisps).

hersheys swoops cup open

This is what the Hershey’s Swoops looks like. It looks like potato chip (crisps) shaped chocolate…and it’s the same size as an average tongue so putting the chocolate slice in your mouth and letting it melt covers the entire mouth with chocolate.

hersheys swoops slice

It’s an experience to behold…if you haven’t had Hershey’s Swoops yet, you haven’t experienced the amazing difference the shape can do to the taste and sheer texture. It’s like methamphetamine…you think insufflating (snorting) it is great, but wait till you smoke it! You think smoking meth is great, but wait till you bang (IV injection) it!

hersheys swoops slices

Hershey’s Swoops is the IV method of eating chocolate in the analogy above. You put the tongue shaped chocolate slices into you mouth, close it, taste the rich, milky chocolate enveloping your entire senses and…chocolate rush! OMG!

Hershey’s Swoops is really an experience to behold…it’s amazing that a commercial chocolate manufacturer can come out with chocolate that would revolutionize the chocolate industry. The chocolate slices produces a totally different experience to eating chocolate.

Disclaimer: sixthseal.com does not condone the use of Hershey’s Swoops. It should be noted that eating Hershey’s Swoops can be addictive to people with a history of drug and alcohol dependency. Please do not share Hershey’s Swoops…it would be consumed faster than you can imagine. πŸ˜‰

Duromine 30 mg (Phentermine HCl) capsules

duromine

Duromine is the Asia-Pacific brand name for Phentermine Hydrochloride made by 3M Pharmaceuticals (Australia). It’s from the very same parent company that makes Post-it notes. πŸ™‚ Just as Post-it notes has revolutionized office work – so has Duromine. I take 3 capsules with my morning coffee to jolt me awake. Post-it notes made remembering important work related stuff possible and its partner Duromine provides that vital boost in CNS stimulation to translate that into productivity. πŸ˜‰

Duromine does not contain the instant release formulation of phentermine and is for all intents and purposes similar to Ionamin [sixthseal.com] – as described in the product safety sheet, “Grey and reddish brown hard gelatin capsules with the caption DUROMINE 30 printed in white in the axial direction on each capsule half. Each capsule contains phentermine ion-exchange resin complex that releases phentermine 30 mg.”

Hmm…I can’t seem to shake off this depression…even writing about pharmaceuticals doesn’t cheer me up anymore. *shrugs*

5th of April, 2006 is my birthday

birthday 2006

I celebrated my birthday yesterday (5th of April, 2006) by sleeping the whole day. I wasn’t on anything…I was just depressed in general. I’m 25 this year. I think my birthdays are not meant to be celebrated, as is the trend as of late, if last year’s birthday [sixthseal.com] is of any indication.

birthday box 2006

Louisa sent me a huge box filled with stuff from Sibu and a card (sent separately) which says “Our lives have taken different paths, but I still remember the days gone by…I think of you often and reminisce over the special times we shared. I will treasure those memories, but time goes on and things do change, the one thing that will never change is the warm feelings I have for you.”

birthday box blanket 2006

There is a blanket inside for me to use when I’m cold from opiate withdrawals…

birthday box toy 2006

There is a soft toy that sings “Happy Birthday” coz she’s not here to sing it for me…

birthday box others 2006

There is a box of apple juice (for my nutritional use, or for acidifying my stomach so oral opioids do not work so well, I would never know ;)), socks (You can never run out of socks. Ever.), a couple of DVD’s to watch when insomnia hits me and large, black thrash bags (it’s a bit of an inside joke, I can count the people who gets this with one hand).

Thanks Louisa! Much love, always and forever…

Thanks to my coworkers Penny and Siaw Chin for buying me a tub of Sunny Hill ice cream for my birthday on the 4th.

Thanks to the multitude of people who sent me SMS birthday wishes! My apologies for not being able to reply, my cell phone service has been barred due to a lack of prompt payment.

…and finally, thanks to my parents for never failing to send me a birthday card every year, for bailing me out of jail and the first thing that comes out of your mouth is “Did you have access to your medication during your time in jail?” with a look of pure concern, for never admonishing me or condescending me with a “I told you so” look after I was arrested after many years of using drugs, blogging about drugs, and fucking up in general, and for loving me for who I am.

Herradura Tequila – Silver, Reposado, Anejo, Suprema

herradura tequila

Herradura is one of the premium tequila brands from Mexico and is considered by many to be the best Mexican tequila in the market. It is near impossible to get it over here in Malaysia, but the Cooknengr [cooknengr.com] himself passed me the range of Herradura all natural 100% blue agave tequila samplers bottles the last time he came back from the United States.

Herradura Silver
This tasted spicy, with strong hints of pepper (?) which lasted into the after taste. Herradura is a great, high quality tequila – it’s not something you down with a chaser. Herradura Silver is the lowest range of tequila (aged for just 40 days) from the legendary Herradura estate and it still beats other tequila brands by a long shot (no pun intended).

Herradura Reposado
The reposado or “rested” aged (for less than a year) tequila from Herradura has a more complex flavor compared to the plata/blanca “silver” range. There is a noticeable gold color compared to the Herradura Silver range and the taste is more mellow compared to the peppery taste of the former. It leaves a noticeable long but pleasant finish on the palate.

Herradura Anejo
Herradura Anejo is aged for 2 years (one year longer than the Mexican government regulations before a tequila can be called “Anejo”) and this aging process translates well to the tequila. I never expected tequila to be aged like other premium liquors, and I was pleasantly surprised. The dark rich golden tequila imparts an oak aged flavor (and a bit of a bite) to the palate. It’s great!

Herradura Suprema
The Herradura Suprema range is the top shelf range of tequila from Herradura and it comes in a slightly different bottle design. Unfortunately, it was lost in transit (read: someone else drank it) so I’m unable to compare this to the other three tequilas from Herradura. I was not exactly sober that night and I think someone nicked it while they were looking at the bottles. Damn it, they just had to take the best one. :p

herradura tequila agave

The Herradura (which means horseshoe) range of tequilas is a great sampler of tequilas – it’s quality tequila made from 100% blue agave that’ll forever change the way you view tequila. Tequila isn’t just a liquor to drink in shots followed by chasers (that stereotype probably originates from cheap tequila) but can be a great flavorful liquor that can be enjoyed by sipping it neat.

Penang Special Kueh Tiaw @ Bormill Food Centre

bormill food center

I believe I have just discovered the best fried kueh tiaw in Kuching…it’s located at Bormill Food Center, just a little down the road from where I work. It’s located at the row right after the turning into Central Park – don’t take the turn, go straight and you’ll see the coffee shop.

bormill penang special

The Penang Special stall is the first one you see. They offer fried kueh tiaw, fried bee hoon, fried noodles and fried cha kueh. I was told that they have really good fried kueh tiaw so I ordered fried kueh tiaw special (RM 3.50).

bormill cooking

The person manning the wok seems competent enough – he fries batches of fried kueh tiaw with ease and the turnaround time for food is extremely fast. It’s fried in one of those large flat woks that retain the flavors of everything (that’s usually a good thing with good hawker food).

bormill kueh tiaw

This is the Penang style special fried kueh tiaw. It’s done with the thinner varient of kueh tiaw and it has hidden treasures in the form of clams and large shrimp inside. The kueh tiaw is nicely spicy and packed with flavors. It tasted so good that I scoffed down the small portion in just a couple of minutes and ordered another plate.

The place is always packed during breakfast so you won’t have any problems finding it. It’s the best kueh tiaw I’ve had in Kuching! I’m thinking about eating another plate just from writing this post…

I won the Sports Toto 6/42 Jackpot!

sports toto win

This is not a belated April Fool’s joke – I really did strike the TOTO 6/42 Jackpot! The 1st Prize Jackpot currently stands at RM 1,234,004.69. I bought 4D at Sports TOTO (Lotto Games) on Saturday:

1118 (6)
6130 (6)
6666 (6) – Sold Out
so I got
6661 (6)

and a LP (not Lampa, Lucky Pick – the automated numbers pick system for the 6 + 1 Jackpot) for both 6/42 and 6/49. I checked the Sports TOTO website [sportstoto.com.my] last night for the numbers before I left the office and none of my 4D picks came out.

Sports-Toto-Win-Results

I checked the 6/42 and 6/49 results just for laughs since I don’t expect that to ever come out and sure enough, the 6/49 numbers were way off. I checked the 6/42 results and was about to dismiss it (since the first digit was off) when a strange realization came over me…there were a lot of matches…

The draw results for 6/42 were:
6, 13, 18, 19, 20, 33

My numbers were:
5, 13, 18, 19, 20, 22

I got the middle four digits and I wasn’t sure if that was enough for a win, so I checked using their automated results checking system:

Sports-Toto-Win

Did I Win? Yeah, 5th Prize!

Sports-Toto-Win-Prize

I surfed over to the prize payouts for the 6/42 system and found out that I have won a whopping RM 30!!!!!111

………

Fuck lar.

The numbers were just off by 1 digit in the first and last numbers. I would have been a millionaire if it wasn’t for the digit offset. The remarkable near-win made me just a 30-dollaraire now.

sports toto slip

Oh well, at least I covered my initial seeding fund and I also got a printed result from one of the peddlers that stalk the traffic light junctions while driving home (50 cents a copy) just coz I was at a red light and he was there.

The total cost for my bet yesterday was RM 19.80 for the 4D numbers (I got 6 units of each of the 3 number picks at RM 1.10 per unit) and add RM 2.20 for the 6/42 and 6/49 lucky picks (RM 1.10 each) and that totals to RM 22.

sports toto slip win

I went to cash in my winning TOTO 6/42 ticket just now and got the 5th Prize payout of RM 30. I just have enough for a pack of cigarettes after covering the costs.

sports toto claim

Thus, I really did strike the Sports TOTO 6/42 Jackpot…but only got the 5th Prize. Oh well, RM 30 is better than nothing. πŸ™‚

Dunhill Hyperion

dunhill hyperion

Dunhill Hyperion is a blended whisky from Scotland that carries the Dunhill brand, which is better known for its tobacco products. It does have a range of palatable blended whiskies though – the Dunhill Scotch Master series featured in one of my baking adventures [sixthseal.com] (yes, I bake – in more ways than one ;)) is a premium blend.

dunhill hyperion liner

The liner note from the bottle of Dunhill Hyperion goes “Hyperion, from Alfred Dunhill, brings a new dimension of to the art of whisky blending. It marries the finesse of great age with the fresh vitality of youth to create a blend – Dunhill Hyperion”.

dunhill hyperion drink

Dunhill Hyperion retails for about RM 300 in most drinking establishments and is a pretty good whisky for the price range. It may not be single malt, but it is good for general sculling. I drank most of the bottle in one night and got pretty fucked up so I rate that as “Good”. πŸ˜‰ It also comes with a cork, another minutiae that always rates as “Good” as well in my book.

dunhill hyperion bottle keep

Behind the Scenes: The bottle keep label writing.

dunhill hyperion end

Dunhill Hyperion is a pretty good whisky…I have had a lot of Dunhill blended whiskies and I actually prefer them to “classic” brands like Mr. Daniel’s and Mr. Walker’s products. I have been drinking heavily since I was arrested for drug possession.

P/S – I’m kidding about that last bit, April Fool’s joke. I have never been arrested and thrown in jail and produced before a court. Oh, and on another totally unrelated matter, please remind me to go for confession during mass on Sunday.
