dooF

This blog went thru a period when the posts were very food-centric.
πŸ™‚ This was a trait that jumped transmission media from email to blogs.
I used to pad my emails with what I had for lunch/dinner/whatever and
this also started appearing in my blog when I couldn’t think of
anything to write. Easiest thing in the world, go out with a digicam,
snap your lunch or dinner, and voila – there’s a post to meet your
daily quota. =D This daily thing is something I commit to, because I’ll
like to remember what I did on a certain day, even if it’s nothing.

ragincaj.jpg

Well, here’s another one for old times sake, what with the first anniversary and everything. This is the Ragin’ Cajun burger
[mcdonalds.com.au] (scroll down a bit), it’s part of McDonald’s New
Tastes Menu which changes every once in a while. I had this for lunch
today. Now usually, the things on the New Tastes Menu are rather
dismal, but not this…this is actually good. Spicy and nice. They are
having a free size-up promotion on the drink if you’re ordering the
Ragin’ Cajun meal with french fries and drinks. This means that when
you order the large meal, the drink becomes huge. Obscenely so. I don’t
know if you can tell from the picture, but it’s much bigger than the
normal large drink. They don’t even normally have it in this size.

flaknoir.jpg

And while we’re on the topic of food, here’s the Flake Noir.
Cadbury’s Flake with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It says
“New” but now that I think of it, I distinctly remember having this
last year. Damn those marketing people…taking advantage of my dismal
memory and making me buy stuff that’s not new after all. πŸ˜‰

Hungry Jack inside a Shell station

shellbk.jpg

I’m really busy with the hurdle requirements for one of my
assignments which is due tomorrow, so here’s a photo from my collection
to entertain you. I took it a couple of weeks ago, and it’s a Hungry
Jack (a Burger King franchise) inside a Shell station. How
convenient. I’ve never seen a fast food outlet inside a gas station
before. Convenience store, yes. Fast food outlet, no. πŸ™‚

McAttack!

McDonalds

Have you ever gotten totally BLAZED and then go out and act normal?
hehehe! That’s what I did today. I haven’t eaten anything for the whole
day and after I came back, I ate 25 (5 x 5mg) mg diazepam (Valium)
tablets and chased it down with two beers. After that, I smoked several
bowls of weed and went out for supper with a couple of my friends. It
was so funny.

st_cd.jpg
Chicken Delight

While on the way there, I was already trying hard not to crack up. I
didn’t tell them I was less than sober. πŸ™‚ Everything was just too
funny for words. Anyway, we got to McDonalds. I was feeling so tickled
that I nearly had a laughing fit while walking to the cashier. I don’t
know why I got so amused, I usually laugh a lot while stoned but never
like this. I didn’t have any problems ordering but I was still trying
hard not to have a laughing fit. πŸ™‚

st_half.jpg
A half eaten Chicken Delight and an uneaten Big Mac, fries and McFlurry

Well, I had the munchies really bad by then and I ordered a Chicken
Delight meal (with large fries and large coke) and a Big Mac. Chicken
Delight is one of the new menus that they change every once in a while.
It’s okay but then I was having the munchies really bad so I can’t
really say for sure. πŸ™‚ I held my own in conversation but was prone to
zoning out. I just felt so sedated I could slide off the chair with a
grin.

st_smuk.jpg
I accidentally dropped some lettuce and tomatoes on the floor and slid around a bit on my shoe before realizing it

Well, after eating all that and an Oreo McFlurry I still had the
munchies really bad. AND I ORDERED ANOTHER BURGER! Disgusting and
totally unacceptable right? *hangs head in shame* πŸ™‚ I ordered a
McChicken and I ate that and still felt hungry. This was the munchies
from hell. I usually can’t eat more than two burgers without being so
full as to nearly puke, but I was still fine by then and I had a slice
of Blackforest cake from the McCafe that was conveniently beside it. I
am ashamed of myself. πŸ™‚

The aftermath

My friend was cracking jokes about CONQUERING McDonalds. He meant
eating all 7 of the larger burgers. Even that feat is too much for even
someone with a bad case of the munchies. In fact, I’m feeling very
close to throwing up now. I feel so bloated. I’m feeling sedated now
though. 25 mg Valium isn’t much, but add a couple of beers and some
cannabis and it’s nice. πŸ™‚

I shredded the cardboard ring and arranged it on the plate. Fun.

I didn’t even remember taking half the photos I took…

My kingdom for a thigh

I went to the KFC in Wisma Sanyan today to get some chicken for
dinner. I wanted a 3-piece set with ALL THIGHS, but apparently, that
would be a problem:

Me: Hello, I’ll like the 3-piece set, all thighs please
Cashier: I’m sorry sir, we’re not allowed to give the customers
so many thighs during peak hours. You can have drums, breast meat or
wings though.
Me: Hmm…then I’ll take 2 thighs and a drumstick
Cashier: Er…actually we’re only supposed to give out one thigh per order
Me: Oh alright, I’ll just have a thigh, a drumstick and a wing

I didn’t even have any problems getting all thighs from that
particular branch before. They must be having a backlog of breast meat
today to do that. I’ll rate my preference as thigh, drums, wings in
that order. I don’t even like breast meat. It’s just too dry and tough.

Anyway, the road running parallel to the 4-storey SMC car park is so
hard to navigate now. Who had the bright idea to put so many barriers
to streamline the traffic? It’s just 4 lanes and 3 of them turn right,
so there is no need for so many of those things. It was implemented
recently too, and I drove over one of them inadvertently while driving
to Wisma Sanyan. Sheesh…luckily I swerved in time to avoid hitting
the “Turn Left” sign.

Outback Passion

My workload this semester is depressing. I’ll even go so far as to say that there’s a shitload
of work this semester. I don’t know the empirical value of a shitload versus a normal load, but
I’ll postulate that a shitload is significantly more than a normal load. One of my subjects even
has a graded exercise starting from Week 2! After my dismal grades last semester, I have decided
that I need to bunker down and study hard this semester if I’m going to do well. Tell you what, I’m
even going to read through one set of lecture notes after this and I’ll sleep early and wake up
early and sync another set of lecture notes to read on the train tomorrow. In fact, I’m even going
to START MY ASSIGNMENT TOMORROW NIGHT! *gasp* There you go. Seriously though, I’ll have to work
harder this semester. It is my final year of university after all. Anyway, I’ll be heading down to
the city tomorrow to pay for my accommodation booking at Mt Buller [mtbuller.com.au]. Yeah, I’m heading for the
slopes next weekend. =D I’ll be there for 3 days and 2 nights, which should be heaps of fun,
considering that my trip coincides with the Victorian Uni Championships and the 3rd Quiksilver
Interschools GP. It’s not the Mountain Dew Shredfest, but it’ll be entertaining nevertheless.
I’ll be staying at the
YHA Lodge
[yha.com.au], which is probably the cheapest on-mountain accommodation at A$55 per
night. It’s the peak season and I can’t afford anything better. It will be a fun three days up at
Mt Buller and I’m already looking forward to it. Heh.

Anyway, my friend Adrian came by today to download MP3s and burn some CDs. We headed to
McDonald’s after that and I tried the new Outback burger on their New Tastes Menu
[mcdonalds.com.au]. The McDonald’s here has this New Tastes menu, which changes every month to
give a bit of variety. I’ve had the Pavlova Passion before but I couldn’t fit an Outback burger
into my stomach that time, so I’m glad I had that today. Pretty nice, there is an egg in there
too. I love burgers with eggs.

The real thing doesn’t look so vibrant. Outback burger meal with Pavlova Passion dessert.

I like cross product marketing

Went to McDonald’s today to grab something to eat. I saw someone walking
this big furry dog, it was huge! The tail itself was as thick as my arm.
Interesting, only matched by the cat one of the Monash College admins
keep. That one is a huge thing too, and its funny to see her walk. I think
it’s a she anyway, I didn’t peer underneath to check. I would look strange
doing that coz the cat was on campus grounds and there are people walking
around. I tried carrying her once, and she’s real heavy. I think she
didn’t like it though, coz she struggled to get lose. It’s a nice feeling
though, picking up such a big sized cat. A nice heavy weight. Anyway,
McDonald’s has this promotion going where you get two Scrabble stickers
with your drink and two with your fries. It’s only for the large value
meals though. Basically you stick the stickers on the tray liner which has
a Scrabble game going and you win whatever words that match your stickers.
I got a D and an N for the fries. Forgot what I got with the drink. The
funny thing is, there is this Scrabble sticker on the bin asking you to
check for stickers before throwing away the wrappers. Cute. Just realized
that this has become a food centric blog. Oh well.

Pr0k chops

There was this slightly demented guy distributing leaflets and carrying on
like a pork chop about how McDonald’s is poisoning everyone. According to
him, 140 people were taken to the hospital last night after having
McDonald’s for dinner. He said he heard that on the radio and was
“creating awareness” by distribution leaflets and ranting in the Caulfield
campus. When no one paid him any attention, he mumbled something about
kids not caring about their health nowadays and walked away to bother some
other people. To which the shuttle driver cracked “Dunno what radio
station he’s listening to, but it sure ain’t 3AW”. Heh. I like that
shuttle driver. He’s always cheerful and friendly. Anyway, I’ve got heaps
of stuff to do now. Two assignments due tomorrow. Poor me.

Picture taken using Nikon 885 from 29/05/2002 print issue of
Herald Sun [heraldsun.com.au].

Carrying on like a pork chop is Aussie slang for making a big fuss.

Went off on a tangent

Oh, I was going to update this page about me going to Clayton but I just went off on a tangent
and went on about my recurring dreams instead. πŸ™‚ Anyway, I had that new Tandoori Chicken Burger at
McDonald’s. The one on their New Tastes Menu. It’s
pretty good, the curry balances well with the sour cream. Heh, I’m talking like its a gourmet
meal instead of McDonalds. Oh well, hunger is the best condiment. Eh, I don’t think I got the
phrase right, but never mind.
