Exclusive Singles Valentine’s Night @ Mist Club

vday

I was at toptorontoclubs in Bangsar on Valentine’s Day courtesy of Chingy, who got me three tickets to the event. It’s organized in conjunction with Lunch Actually – the premier dating company in Asia. The event started at 7:30 pm but I was there early with Charlz and Joyce in tow to cover the event. Chingy has just started working in Mist Club, Bangsar.

pam

I met Pam there who arranged for me to get in earlier to take photos and cover the event. She also generously provided me with a lot of drinks vouchers, thanks for the great hospitality! =D

Everyone who went in got a bag of schwag containing party favors, a shot glass and forms (with the obligatory pencil) for games.

us

These are my coworkers – Charlz and Joyce. Er…Charlz, you should make it a habit to wear longer skirts to clubs. πŸ˜‰ It saves me the time of having to apply mosaic. :p

filling

Anyway, Mist started filling up with people as the night progressed…

dance

…and games went underway. The audience participation was lukewarm (I wanted to go up but the MC started pulling out name cards before I could) but most people were game enough to go on stage when their names were called. There was this funny dancing competition where the music is cut into English, techno and Chinese songs and the paired up couples had to dance according to the beats.

winner

The winner walked away with a bottle of champagne. Nice!

kissing

The next game involved women, lipstick and kisses. The females are supposed to plant as many kisses as they can on their male partners (selected at random). I love shooting this scene. πŸ™‚

xx

We interrupt this program to bring you an XX Chromosome photo – this is one of the staff at Mist.

condom

Back to the games, the last one was a challenge where the fastest person to obtain:
A blown up condom
Two pairs of heels
Boxers
A pair of earrings
Wins a prize. Some guy snagged it in like 3 minutes. Respect.

lina

There was also a lucky draw – a trip for two (2) for three days two nights to Pulau Redang, all expenses paid. Lina, a girl who was sitting with us, won the prize. I’m so gonna suck up to her so she’s gonna take me there with her. πŸ˜‰

Thanks to Chingy, Pamela and Justin for the warm hospitality (and the massive amount of drink vouchers). πŸ™‚

I had a great time!

(and I met someone special that night – yes, you S)

Snooze kills

snooze kills

Snooze is evil. It must be punished. I planned to wake up at 4 am this morning to do my MDG 2 post and a very long Valentine’s Day Mist writeup but I pressed the snooze function and the next thing I know it’s 6:30 am. (!)

Snooze is a disease. Don’t take the risk. Change your lifestyle to avoid snooze. Contact your doctor for more information.

Kame Hame Ha – sixthseal.com style!

Here at sixthseal.com it has been established – a heritage even – that we go above and beyond the call of duty. πŸ˜‰ These are my Kame Hame Ha videos for the DBZ: Evolution screening. I tried a couple of flammables:

hitomi dbz

This is Zippo lighter fluid, otherwise known as naphtha. It doesn’t burn at all. I found that rather strange, considering I spent RM 6.90 on it. I guess it just evaporates on concrete once it’s been poured out of the receptacle.

…with this Dragonball…I’ll take my vengeance – upon the Earth.

It’s all reverse messed up chronological videos in this post – the first one is the naphtha fluid, which is a massive FAIL since it didn’t ignite.

I promptly used methanol spirits (don’t ask me why I have a spare bottle in my car coz I can’t answer that) and it came up as a blue flame.

We adjourned for dinner and I decided I wasn’t satisfied with the results so I got RON 92 gasoline from the nearest petrol station. I told the attendant my friend ran out of gas in SS 6 and I needed 1.5 liters of the Good Stuff (TM). I don’t think he quite believed me coz he told me if I was gonna Molotov Cocktail a house, I was not to say that I got it from that particular gas station. LOL!

ron92

We went back and did it for a third time with RON 92 gasoline and that’s the first video. It’s awesome! =D

Thanks to Hitomi for helping me get the videos done! πŸ™‚

Ignition! They call it an obsession, but I think it’s kinda bitchin’…I think it’s kinda neat!

Bling on my tongue

tongue piercing 4

I went and re-pierced my tongue just now. Contrary to popular believe, no, I did not reuse the old stud, although I love it to bits. I’ve been looking to get another black one with a gemstone on top, but alas, the piercing shop does not carry it.

Thus, I decided to go for the bling factor and went gold like the tongue piercing I did in 2006. It cost me RM 130 at 1Utama, which is higher than what the good people at Bukit Bintang charge.

tongue piercing 4 hitomi

Hitomi shot the video, we were at 1U for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This post is to reassure you that I did not reuse the old stud, S. πŸ˜‰

I didn’t even have my tongue piercing on Saturday.

Thanks Charlz for a great weekend! =D

I swallowed my tongue piercing

glistening gem

…and was pleasantly surprised to see it again in the bottom of the toilet bowl.

“I once was lost, but now am found”

I accidentally swallowed my tongue piercing during lunch with my coworkers and I usually don’t see the by-product of this unfortunate event. It’s happened a couple of times before but this is the first time I’ve done my bowel movements, flushed, just to find a shiny gem waiting at the bottom of the toilet bowl. πŸ™‚

hidden gem

It usually goes down with the excrement and TP so I was pleasantly surprised to see it glistening at the bottom, as if it wanted to be found.

I take this as a sign from above, and thus, I retrieved it. πŸ˜‰

Imagine the journey it has gone through, the poor thing!

The need for speed

I’ve always wondered how fast I can push my car. I know it can go above 170 km/h on the PLUS highway but how do I get it to leave a trail of fire?

flaming

The short answer is, in the real world that is scientifically improbable. I use the word improbable coz I don’t want to look back at the sixthseal.com archives 20 years later and kick myself when they invent really fast cars which can actually leave a blazing trail behind. πŸ˜‰

flames

Thus, I tried unorthodox methods of making a “blazing fast” car. Turpentine doesn’t burn, gasoline burns with a yellow flame and so does kerosene. I want a hot blue flame that doesn’t extinguish easily, so after much experimentation (much to the chagrin of the hardware shop, as I was using his premises to do the burn tests) I settled on methanol spirits.

pyros

Thus armed, I enlisted two of my friends and went to a secluded back alley near my condo – one was the driver, one was the spotter (to stop cars from driving into the flaming mess) cum camera(wo)man and I was the videographer. I used two bottles of methanol spirits to create a “trail of flame” effect behind the car and created this video in all of its unedited glory:

Okay, the video is an epic FAIL. Teng Loo wasn’t familiar with my car and she didn’t manage to put it in gear when I shouted GO! However, the effect is rather nice.

making

It got me thinking though, why would I go through all that trouble, risking arrest when I can just boost up my car performance the proper way? I could have just gotten some Castrol EDGE Sport engine oil.

While it won’t make your car leave a blazing trail of fire – it will boost your engine performance. The Castrol EDGE Sport is a race proven oil to give you that extra EDGE (no pun intended) in power and performance and protects your engine to boot!

castrol

Castrol is running an online contest called the Castrol EDGE Sport Speed Challenge that I thought is pretty original. Four teams are pitted against each other to see which group can change engine oil the fastest. The four vastly different teams are:

1. Hot Chics
2. The Geeks
3. Sweet Young Things
4. The Pros

One video will be released each week over a four-week period and you get to guess the time used by the four groups to change the engine oil. The person who enters the closest time to the actual time used by the group will be the winner. Guess & Win!

There will be one weekly winner and a grand prize winner for the Castrol EDGE Sport Speed Challenge.

Exclusive for bloggers:

Bloggers won’t miss out on this coz Castrol is kind enough to run another concurrent contest, especially for you! Exclusively for bloggers, the Blog & Win contest requires you to blog about and embed the video of the Castrol EDGE Sport Speed Challenge contest in your blog.

You can get the videos from the Castrol website. Give it your best shot! The six (6) most creative posts will win!

MDG 2 Closed Auditions: Interviews

mdg 2

Malaysian Dream Girl is back! The MDG 2 Closed Auditions were held today and I dropped by Tune Hotel to rendezvous with Jerad of Capxion Media and the 25 short listed candidates. That is Dawn pimping my blogger card – I think a lot of people are rooting for her. πŸ˜‰ The girls were checking into the hotel before heading to Capxion Media’s studio for the Final 12 to be chosen.

mdg 2 tune

I ended up driving 4 of the MDG 2 candidates and nearly got horrible lost, if not for Jerad being kind enough to stop by the roadside to allow me to tailgate the entourage. I keep on forgetting to get a Touch n’Go card and I’m always last out of the tollbooth coz I had to use the cash lane. Debra was there to cover the MDG 2 closed auditions as well.

I managed to interview:

Happy Birthday Teng Loo, Cup-bearer to the Gods!

ttl birthday

I hardly ever get close to people at work, due to a personal necessity to separate the two identities (work Huai Bin and play Huai Bin), but one of the people I got close to was Teng Loo.

ttl cake

I think of her as my older sister in a way, she’s the same age as my biological sister, and she’s my mentor of sorts. Thus, it is only befitting that I got her a cake for her birthday. πŸ™‚

tll knife

The cake reads “Happy Birthday Teng Loo, Cup-bearer to the Gods!” coz she’s Aquarius. We share the same affinity for horoscopes. It’s like Lucifer’s sauna at our workplace coz the A/C broke down so we moved to the conference room for the cake cutting ceremony.

ttl blow

I hope you get your birthday wish TTL. You deserve it more than anyone else. You have been a friend, and more importantly, a confidant. You know more about me than anyone else save my parents, and perhaps not even them. πŸ™‚

ttl cut

Teng Loo’s birthday falls on Valentine’s Day – the 14th of February but Secret Recipe doesn’t do deliveries anywhere close that date so I’m doing an early one for her.

Live long and prosper, TTL. May the best of last year be the worst of this year. πŸ™‚

Punisher 2: War Zone screening

outpost

Thanks to Nuffnang, I managed to catch Punisher: War Zone 10 days before everyone else. It was a screening held at Cineleisure last night (just now?) and I’ve got to say, this has gotta to be the best screening ever.

nuffnang

The pre-program was held at Outpost and we all met up there before going for the movie. The drinks were all half-price and there were PS2 Punisher games and board games available.

hitomi

I met Hitomi there who posed me an extremely difficult question that challenged my gray matter to the point of incapacitation. :p

bouncer

There were two people in costume acting as bouncers of sorts…a very nice touch, which was not just cosmetic – more about that later.

contest

Contests were also held – two mannequins were the targets and we were given a toy gun to shoot darts at the targets to win schwag, which includes Punisher 2 T-shirts and duffle bags. I joined the second round and snagged me a poster of Punisher: War Zone. It was a whole lot of fun.

group

…that’s not the end of it though. As we filed into the cinema and the trailers started, the two guys in flak jackets suddenly entered the cinema with flashlights shouting that Frank Castle is in the premises.

There was a whole lot of commotion and they ended up arresting The Punisher (before he made a timely escape) in front of the theater. It was a staged and choreographed event but they managed to pull it off so well (and it was unexpected) which made it interesting.

Then someone announced that a bomb has been planted under one of our seats, which set us scrambling to see if the explosive device is indeed under our designated seats. It turns out that Debra who was sitting at the seat adjacent to mine was the lucky one.

bomb

There was a bomb-squad style “cut the wires to disarm the bomb” stunt and Debra got to keep the ignition device. This has gotta be the best PR stunt pulled ever.

Anyway, back to the movie, it was great! If you loved the first Punisher (or Marvel comics stuff, vigilante movies, or films that involves violence and gore) you’ll love this iteration. There were a couple of great quotes in there, my favorite being straight from the good book – “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” from Matthew 7:2.

Overall, it was an entertaining popcorn movie and I won’t have any spoilers here since it’s not going to be released for another 10 days but the best scene is Jigsaw recruiting all the Asian, Latino and African American street gangs for his cause.

The only flaw in the movie is the excessive censorship applied. There were liberal cutting of scenes – the Good Parts (TM) involving gore and violence were all subjected to the judicious scissors of the good people at the film censorship board. It was quite noticeable and a bit of a letdown but I give this movie two thumbs up (primarily coz I loved the first and I like vigilante movies like Boondock Saints).

zoe

This is Zoe, my guest. Say Happy Birthday coz she just turned 16. πŸ™‚

knife

I even won a Punisher: War Zone combat knife for my slogan. It was If I’m the Punisher, I’ll punish….Obama coz he’s not what he seems. It’s the greatest disaster of all time. Great PR, great marketing tactics, but he’s actually the Antichrist in disguise. The end is nigh! and I explicitly stated that I wanted the adventure knife coz I was getting mugged all the time. πŸ˜‰

Unfortunately, this “adventure knife” would be relegated to cutting my fingernails and filing it down so it doesn’t hurt when I have an itch to scratch. πŸ˜‰

I think it’ll be mighty useful for that. πŸ™‚

The IntenseCure @ Cafe Libre

cafe libre

I woke up early yesterday morning to navigate the maze that is Cheras. I picked up Ginny and we went to CafΓ© Libre for coffee. CafΓ© Libre is operated by Grant and Yasmin, the husband and wife couple.

cafe libre interior

CafΓ© Libre is located opposite the KL branch of Huygens Asia where I used to work as a Systems Engineer before I went to several DATCs. It’s bright and friendly, and I hear the barista is headhunted from Starbucks in MidValley. Heh!

libre cofee

Grant and I share a lot of common traits and interests and I felt quite sorry for Ginny coz we were just talking the entire time we were there. There was so much to catch up on and we have so many common experiences that I could see Ginny yawning just listening to us go on and on. Sorry!
