Accident: 7 car pileup at Brooke Drive

brooke drive pileup

There was a 7 car pileup in Brooke Drive last night. An auto accident lawyer was called immediately. The roads were wet and slick from the rain, granted, but there was a great deal of debate as to how it actually happened. It’s very unusual for such a high number of cars to be involved in an accident in Sibu, especially when the average speed people drive at on that road is 50-60 km.

flight of the wira

This one takes the cake – the car flew over the road divider and crashed head on with a stationary truck repairing a street light. It’s amazing how little visible damage it suffered considering the flight and target (a truck, for Christ’s sake).

brooke drive accident

Six other cars were involved in fender benders behind on the lane turning left. There were a couple of police around to redirect traffic and the people involved in the accident standing around under umbrellas.

I still can’t figure out how it happened. My current theory is that the first car was speeding, lost control and ran over the road divider to the other side of the road and crashed into the stationary truck repairing a light fixture. The car behind him probably stepped on the brakes and the car behind him was rubbernecking The Flight of the Proton Wira so he crashed into the second car resulting in the other three cars behind him/her crashing into him, there are several people injured so we definitely think contacting a Ketterman, Rowland & Westlund Personal injury attorney in San Antonio, TX is a good idea as they know what the legal consequences will be.

Blogger reputations

rep

I seem to have earned (?) myself a reputation for being something of a playboy, from the feedback I have been receiving from friends and coworkers as of late. It seems that this is solely due to the amount of photos of different chicks, I’m sorry, I mean females I have on the blog. I’ve been asked not to put up certain photos from girls with boyfriends for fear of being tarred and feathered by their boyfriends and from being labeled a “sixthseal.com chick”,

I should be quick to claim that most of the girls are my friends and the arm over the shoulder thing is just a manifestation of the “buddy buddy” thing. I do it with both guys and girls, and no one comments about the male photos. I had a discussion about this with my boss just now and the case of Tony Fernandez with his arms around two flight attendants came into play.

Now, since he has his arms around them, he’s obviously fucking them, or that’s what the general public thinks (over here in this small town anyway). I think it’s nice of him to do the “chummy” thing with his cabin crew. It’s just how people look at things.

I have had a lot of comments that I must be a player due to the number of chicks that are featured on my blog, but it should be noted that most are just friends.

What do you think?

Tongue Piercing Photos and Video

borneo headhunters

Greetings! I am blogging from Starbucks in Kuching while waiting for my flight back to Sibu. I have been planning to get another tongue piercing and managed to squeeze it into this brief trip – perhaps a more apt word would be a layover – thanks to Irene, who kindly drove us around Kuching.

preparation

This is my third tongue piercing in as many years. The first tongue piercing was involved in an unfortunate incident during a routine dental hygiene maintenance procedure where the screw-on ball dropped down the sink. I didn’t have a replacement, considering piercings were not common then so the piercing healed up.

clamp 1

The second piercing was subjected to an accidental ingestion during a particularly delectable feast – again with the screw-on ball – and I couldn’t find the backup stud I had in storage. I wasn’t particularly keen on waiting for it to reappear after a bowel movement and screwing it back on so it healed up on me as well.

clamp 2

This trip to Kuching was meant to be a layover before we went to Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort so I only had the evening to squeeze in a trip to The Spring, get a tongue piercing and go out clubbing before heading for our R&R at the resort. I made an appointment with Ernesto of Borneo Headhunters Tattoo and Piercing for 6 pm.

clamp 3

Unfortunately, Ernesto ran out of tongue studs and Irene was kind enough to drive me to Rupert Rage War Store in Centerpoint to get the jewelery for the piercing. I got a standard surgical steel tongue stud plus a more vociferous design for nights out. I reckon it’s better to get two this time just in case any undue ingestion or bathroom incidents affected the first one.

This is the video of my third tongue piercing. I’m pleased with my travel companion’s directing skillz since it turned out pretty well. The tongue piercing is a little off center but I kinda like the way it looks now. It’s a little more interesting than a straight piercing and I have it on good authority that it feels better in this configuration. My travel companion commented that I was quite a cunning linguist after the procedure. πŸ˜‰

ernesto

It cost me RM 50 for the piercing only (RM 120 if you want a stud to be provided). Thanks Ernesto!

amy home

Amy kindly gave me a ride back home from work just now. My car just came back from the workshop and I have been absolutely CRIPPLED by the lack of transport. Kudos goes out to Faye for snagging the Endurance award – she has been picking me up in the morning and sending me back after work almost every day. πŸ™‚

car back

This is a sight for sore eyes indeed. If I had known that it would take this long to fix the car, I probably wouldn’t have crashed it. πŸ˜‰

Genting Highlands Indoor Arcade

genting funtasy world

Genting Highlands has an indoor arcade and theme park which people throng through during the night when the outdoor theme park is closed.

genting indoor arcade

The indoor arcade is called Funtasy World and has rides, simulations and games. I went with Rene after a session in the casino. The credits come in a swipe card instead of coins.

Gunshot

genting gunshot

Gunshot is a game where a digital rifle is fired upon targets at monitor screens about 5 meters away. The game allows 30 shots for RM 10 and its quite fun to play around with.

genting gunshot me

The rifle is attached to a cord which registers a hit when the bull eye is hit by the rifle. I played with this game for quite a while. It’s like a digital shooting range.

Premier K-Box

genting kbox The K-Box is a self enclosed kiosk that allows you to choose from a variety of songs for karaoke singing. One song is RM 2 and there is a touch screen to select from.

Harley-Davidson motorbike simulation

genting harley

I also got on the Harley-Davidson motorcycle simulation though the streets of LA. You literally have to steer the motorbike using the actual size of the Harley-Davidson.

Bass Fishing

genting bass fishing

Rene played the more passive bass fishing simulator. There is a cord attached to a real fishing rod that you use to fish with.

Top Skater

genting skate

Top Skater by SEGA Skateboarding is another simulator that we got on. It’s pretty fun coz the control is via an actual skateboard attached to the arcade machine.

Namco Trackball

genting trackball

There was also this weird game by Namco where you roll a trackball like device which I played with Rene. I don’t know what it’s supposed to do so we just guessed and I won the game. Heh!

Namco Drums

genting drums

One of the more exotic games is the Namco drum arcade game where you hit the huge drums. The game play is pretty unusual and I like arcade machines with unusual control schemes.

SEGA Dinosaur King

genting card game

I don’t know how to play this game but I went on it anyway. It’s some kind of card battle game like Magic: The Gathering except it’s in Japanese and I couldn’t figure out what to do.

Kart Duel Go-Kart simulator

genting go kart

This is the last game that we played. It’s a Go-Kart simulator with real Go-Kart controls and I managed to soundly beat Rene (or was it the other way round?).

RM 150 fish

expensive fish

This is a fresh water fish that sells for more than RM 13 per kilogram. It’s nearly in the same league as what the locals call empulau, the most expensive fish here, which will set you back about RM 2,000 for a fully grown fish.

Project MISER DAYS 3-8: Psychotic episode

warded again

I was warded after a little psychotic episode on Sunday and was kept in until Friday (just now) before the psychiatrist deemed me fit for discharge. I’m on lamotrigine now as a mood stabilizer in addition to my existing repertoire of drugs [sixthseal.com]. I’m on 4 mg of Risperdal and 60 mg of Remeron daily though, that’s the changes to the older post.

warded again scar

The picture above shows the scar from the previous hospitalization [sixthseal.com] which has its stitches removed and is now nice and comfy.

warded again hospital food

Mmm…hospital food.

warded again hospital food macro

Mmm…a closer look at hospital food.

warded again mcdonalds

Mmm…McDonald’s McDelivery delivered to not just my ward, but my bed!

warded again mcdonalds happy meal

Happy Meals makes me happy.

warded again mc

I am slightly retarded. Just FYI.

warded again tax

Your taxpayer’s money hard at work! It cost me just RM 12 for my entire stay! Yes! I am certified insane!

P/S – The hospital bills were footed by my dad so he’s the sponsor of this post and the days ranging from the 3rd to the 8th of Project MISER Month on the account that I’m in the hospital. The project will continue as normal but without accounting for the impulsive tattoo done (next post) coz that tattoo cost RM 500 and it’s not a monthly expense but more of an impulsive event so I’m not including that. Future posts will not have Project MISER RM 250 appended to it but will be normal post titles. The post body will still include Remainder details and expenses though.

Remainder: RM 162.20

The Style by Toyota

the style by toyota

The Style by Toyota is a huge cafΓ© cum concept store located at Siam Square in Bangkok. We saw the illuminating lights changing colors on the imposing glass enclosed building and wanted to check it out but it was closed.

toyota the style

I went the next day with my gf to The Style by Toyota and I must admit, it certainly impressed me like no other concept store…it’s gotta be the best place to hang out in Bangkok. The Style by Toyota is sponsored by Toyota and it’s not just about cars but more of an art establishment.

toyota counter

There are Thai girls manning the counter with a friendly “Sawadee!” and I got them to pose for a photo. The place is very chill and the ambience exudes friendliness.

toyota concept car

The first thing you see in this art cum concept store facility is a working concept car by Toyota as the main display. There is a cordon around it…

toyota photo op

….but it’s a great photo op nevertheless.

toyota coffee

The Style by Toyota has a coffee and juice bar at the ground floor of the three floor structure. There are LCD and plasma screens practically everywhere displaying Toyota ads.

toyota merchandise

There is also merchandise on display…

toyota event

…and we realized that there was an anime fest going on in there coz some people were in costume.

toyota cosplay girls

I got some of the girls to pose for me.

toyota cosplay girl

Cosplay is fun.

toyota seating

The seating arrangements at The Style by Toyota range from the comfortable but futuristic…

toyota seating view

…to the more esoteric ones that look out of the glass building for a great view of Bangkok.

toyota seating art

The entire design of the place just screams “Art” and it gave me a really uncomfortable urge to smash something. πŸ˜‰

toyota seating stairs

There are seating arrangements right on the staircase for two…

toyota seating pc

…and single seats in front of an interactive Toyota flat screen monitor.

toyota balls

There are even balls of fluffy cushions to sit on while you browse through architecture books if you’re so inclined.

toyota books

The bookshelves that lines The Style by Toyota is not limited to books about visual art but also music (though strangely, nothing about cars).

toyota pc

I got my coffee and sat at one of the touch screen interactive Toyota LCD monitors. There are games (one of which I played to the point of obsession with my gf to see who has a better score)…

toyota pc order

…and even a touch screen ordering system that allows you to order a coffee straight from where you’re seating instead of going downstairs.

toyota drink

I tried it. It works.

toyota end

The Style by Toyota is a must visit if you’re ever in Bangkok. It is a concept store unlike any other out there.

RC Car review – Turbo Tumbler

Turbo Tumbler is a Remote Control (RC) car that has been making the rounds via the popular “free delivery to offices” paper run marketing. Our office got the paper brochure for the Remote Control Turbo Tumbler and I ordered one of them while my CTO got another one for his son. RC Turbo Tumbler retails for RM 35 each.

rc turbo tumbler box

Remote Control Turbo Tumbler is basically an RC car that can do “stunts” like flips and rolls due to the six degree freedom of movement controller and 360 degree front axel on the RC car design. It comes in 27 Mhz (Orange) and 49 Mhz (Black) for two-person “racing” although I doubt the RC car is designed for that with it’s bulky SUV (4WD) looks.

rc turbo tumbler car

RC Turbo Tumbler comes in a package which contains the fully assembled car and the remote control module with antenna (batteries not included, of course). The car has a “Special Edition” sticker on top (am tempted to write racing stripes but that would be a gross misnomer) and several light fixtures which comes on when the RC Car is powered up. The instruction sheet is basic but it doesn’t require a Phd in Rocket Science (or Nuclear Physics for that matter) to operate an RC Car. πŸ˜‰

rc turbo tumbler remote

This is what the 27 Mhz controller for the RC Turbo Tumbler car looks like – this one does come with a 9 volt battery, bless their souls, coz that funny shaped battery is hard to find in the office. It is simple to integrate, with just the battery cover going into the controller and the snap in antenna (retractable) to boost the signal strength.

rc turbo tumbler batt cart

The RC car itself requires 4 x AA batteries (which thankfully is in amply supply inside the office) loaded into a peculiar cartridge loading system which slots back into the undercarriage of the car.

rc turbo tumbler batt slot

Here’s a shot of how the battery array loading system looks like – the RC car has large grip types as you can see, which makes it more of a stunt car than a proper racing RC car. The entire package is ready to go at this point if you have AA batteries on hand.

rc turbo tumbler go

The Remote Control Turbo Tumbler is “Made in China” and that means that it doesn’t last. It is manufactured from poorly sourced materials and one of them didn’t work (the one that my CTO got) so I gave him mine, which promptly broke in two days. It is however, fun for a day.

Watch the video of the RC Turbo Tumbler at work in the office:

rc turbo tumbler action

That’s me testing the RC car in the office while my CTO is manning the camera after work just now. Take Two in the video refers to the botched Take One where the RC Turbo Tumbler didn’t function at all – there’s “Made in China” for you. πŸ™‚

The Weet-Bix guide to constipation relief

weet bix cereal

Weet-Bix is an Australian cereal that comes in the form of unsweetened 97% whole grain biscuits. I used to hate the stuff when I was a kid, but strangely enough, love it to bits now. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I suggest you do the same to combat opiate induced constipation.

weet bix cereal prep

The Weet-Bix guide to constipation can resolve any constipation problems after a couple of days on this diet. You will require:

1. Weet-Bix cereal
2. Fresh milk
3. Swiss muesli (optional)

Preparation:

weet bix cereal biscuits

1. Use a large cereal bowl and fill it up with four (4) Weet-Bix biscuits

weet bix cereal muesli

2. Pour Swiss muesli over it until cereal bowl is nearly full

weet bix cereal layer

3. Take two (2) more Weet-Bix biscuits and layer it on top

weet bix cereal milk

4. Fill bowl with fresh milk

weet bix cereal done

The Swiss muesli I use has dried fruits, nuts, oats and bran and is “an excellent source of fiber”. I layer it with the Weet-Bix for taste and texture (the fruits adds natural sweetness and the oats and nuts gives it the texture) as well as giving the mixture additional fiber.

weet bix cereal end

The amount of fresh milk to add is to taste – add more if you like wet mushy cereal, add less if you like oatmeal consistency cereal. Soy milk can be substituted on a 1:1 ratio with milk for a more watery consistency.

It really is an excellent source of fiber (and it’s delicious too). You should be able to resolve any opiate induced constipation problems after several days on the Weet-Bix muesli diet. πŸ™‚
