I’ve heard that everyone has one side that they look better in. The real pros actually navigate themselves so that their βbest looking sideβ e.g. angle gets presented each time they take a photo. Heh.
I don’t know if I have a good looking side. Here’s my right profile.
…and this is my left side.
I think it looks just about the same but please do correct me if I’m wrong β I’ll love to know. π
I’ve only told a few people about this. I think I can count the number of people who knows on my fingers, until now that is. I denied it ever happened at that time, but I feel that writing about the experience can be a catharsis of sorts, and it has helped me grow and improve myself in a lot of ways.
I’ve had an abortion before.
Well, not me per se, but it was a result of my actions that led to the D&C.
Thatβs a nice, clean, and neat clinical term which stands for Dilation & Curettage β a medical procedure that is commonly used here for first trimester abortions by widening the cervix and surgically removing the contents of the uterus i.e. the fetus by scraping or scooping it out.
I won’t name any names, this is a highly private matter and although a lot of people go through abortions everyday and think nothing of it, I felt that this had an impact on me as I went on a bit of a self destructive rampage after that.
I was brought up as a Christian and even though I’ve moved away from the church at that time, something deep inside me still tells me it’s wrong to take a life. I’m actually pro-choice, people must have the individual rights to choose.
Well, the video above is about me talking about the abortion, which has shaped me into who I am now. I’ve quit drugs and for a few years was extremely promiscuous which thankfully didn’t cause any problems health wise.
I was looking through the photos from that period and honestly am horrified at what I’ve done and the sheer amount of sexual partners I’ve had. I’ve deleted incriminating photos but I remember faces from benign photos but not their names.
I don’t regret the experience, only the people I’ve hurt.
The reason I say that I don’t regret the experience is that it has slowly made me into who I am today. I don’t have sex unless I’m in a proper relationship nowadays. It’s a conscious decision I made last year and although the first relationship after that was a disaster (the girl dumped me), I still feel that honesty and transparency is the basis of a healthy relationship.
I know people will judge and gleefully try and make me into some kind of monster but I don’t care coz that isn’t true now. I won’t be defensive about it and start saying stuff like βJudge not lest ye be judged yourselfβ coz I understand that some people need schadenfreude β to derive pleasure from other people’s suffering.
I understand that all too well, and I guess that’s why I don’t bother defending myself against the various (and sometimes utterly ridiculous) rumors about me. I’m a better person now and although that doesn’t change what I did in the past, I’m trying my best to make amends.
I’ve been doing that since last year and I’m much better off for it. I’m more sensitive and attuned to the needs of others and I’m not a player anymore.
I am still learning to be a better person. It’s kaizen β continuous improvement – and something I’m striving for every single day.
It goes without saying that some of the stuff I chuck into the Satire/Parody category are oblique references to the truth. Here’s a prime example. It’s an open secret, just like the veritas (how ironic) βguest authorβ posts back in the days.
I didn’t expect so many people to take it seriously and I formulated a response that was approved by my girlfriend at that time. It wasn’t the truth.
Okay, I was on my way back home late last night when something very disgusting happened. I’ve posted about it on Facebook but I wanted it here for posterity…
…coz it’s really disgusting. π‘
I’m still a bit grossed out by what happened last night – this security guard I was trailing to get directions on where my car is took off his cap and brushed his sweaty hair before I could tap him on the shoulder and say excuse me.
Obviously, this resulted in surprisingly copious amounts of sweat being flicked to my face and inside my open mouth. (!!!)
I got the directions but it left a bad taste in my mouth. π
I just found out about this last week from Twitter. Thanks Jessy! It’s an article about my last trip to Langkawi. I’m the one with the red phoenix tattoo on my chest, holding on to the net with one hand. Heh.
The link above to the post is in Chinese, which I can’t read, so I used the auto-translate feature in Chrome β it’s about the trip, the sea jacuzzi was fun, going to post about that sometime. π
2. Full 30 minute interview video on Bernama Radio24
I was on Bernama Radio24 to speak on “The Lounge” a couple of months ago β I posted about my interview on radio before but I didn’t have the link to the YouTube video. You can see the entire 30+ minute radio interview below if you missed it the first time round.
It also shows the inside of the studio and me and Gerald’s expressions and gestures β it’s for an hour long talk show segment, this is the entire almost 40 minute interview, the rest of the time are filled with songs and such. Thanks for the link Junsern! π
3. NuffnangX
I was at the launch of NuffnangX Malaysia and have been using the beta of NuffnangX before it was released. Interesting concept, it makes reading blogs on a smartphone so much easier, as I found out one day when I was waiting for the laundry to open in my car. Heh.
That’s a customized USB drive made to look like a business card with a personalized βsixthseal.comβ stamped on it with the beta version inside. I love collecting USB drives, this is one of my more unique ones.
I was on my way back home when I saw this large group of people confronting each other amidst a mass of motorbikes and cars. It was a T junction and I gather they’ve gotten into some kind of fender bender, but a mild one by the looks of it.
It was quite late and there was no traffic except more bikes arriving noisily to fortify the already significant representation while I was at that junction, a veritable congregation of two-wheeled owners.
I went on my way to do some grocery shopping before the supermarket closed β you know, the usual staples of bachelorhood β ramen, more ramen, ramen in a cup, bread, milk, eggs, sausages (erm) and crab sticks.
It took me about 30 minutes (even picked up some toothpaste on sale while I was at it) and my wallet was RM 80 lighter when I was done.
I took the same route back home and surprisingly they were still there. I couldn’t hear what was being said, it looks like Cars vs Bikes β with the latter dominating – there were a lot of gesturing and pointing going on, so I regarded them with mild interest, and drove back home.
Yup, I know, it’s anti-climatic but the answer to the question is…
This happened close to midnight. I had just finished watching a movie at KLCC and paid the RM 12 parking ticket. I casually tossed it on the dashboard of my car, which is the usual holding place until I exit the carpark.
Unfortunately, this was just after my car has been fixed in ways that I never imagined possible.
There was a hole inside the dashboard.
I don’t know where it leads to and spent a good 10 minutes futilely trying to retrieve the ticket by shoving my hand into the 20 cm crack before giving up and heading to the manned parking payment center.
It was still open β thankfully. I expected to pay the RM 50 lost ticket charge but the guy behind the counter just gave me another ticket instead after I explained what had happened.
I used that mysterious ticket and it turned out to be just RM 6!
It also showed that I had just stayed for slightly over an hour, which is wildly inaccurate β I was there for 4 hours.
I don’t know where the guy got it from, but I was so grateful at his kind actions that I stopped before going out and passed him RM 10 as a tip.
He was as surprised as I was β tipping is not customary over here.
…so now I know β Don’t put the parking ticket on the dashboard!
My car seems to have a positively voracious appetite after being fixed. I should start calling it Christine. π‘
This is a breakfast menu item from the fast food franchise giant Jollibee. Jollibee is all around the Philippines, you can literally see one at every street corner in Manila. I had this at the airport just before flying Cebu Pacific Air to Boracay.
The Hash Brown Burger is made with a 100% pure beef patty and a slice of cheese sandwiched between two golden hash browns.
It cost 88 pesos (RM 6.50) at the airport, I’m sure it costs less outside but it’s well worth it.
I love how the crispy hash browns substitute the traditional burger β it’s crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside, which makes the hash browns a much better bun!
It’s delicious stuff! I wish they had it here but I reckon you can make your own using hash browns and removing the patty from a regular burger. π
2. Chinese pao burger with pork sausage
This comes from Chowking, a large fast food franchise specializing in Chinese food in the Philippines. The interesting bit is that they use a Chinese style pao instead of the usual burger buns.
It’s even stamped with a βCkβ for Chowking on top. It looks like a typical burger bun but it’s actually a Chinese pau β the taste and chewy texture is spot on! π
I find that it absorbs the sauces of the ingredients well, but doesn’t over-saturate it β it’s a perfect burger bun substitute!
I had the one with the Chinese pork sausage (lap cheong) inside for 39 pesos (RM 3) inclusive of chicharap (prawn crackers) and a drink right outside Intramuros.
It’s ironically called Chowking’s Chow Pao β which means something totally different if you pronounce it the wrong way. Heh.
This group of fire dancers were performing along the vibrant night life section of White Beach in Boracay β around Station 2.
They’re called the Boracay Phoenix Fire Dancers and I was quite impressed by one of them β she has really good skills.
There were multiple performances β both indoors and outdoors simultaneously, and the latter having no constraints with ceilings and such, could perform aerial tricks.
One of them did an amazing catch after throwing the meteor hammer up in the air β she didn’t catch it the first time, but managed to snag it on the second try. It was the monsoon season so the wind speed was rather fierce, I was amazed she even managed to catch it at all!
The Boracay Phoenix Fire Dancers also lit a lot of cigarettes by spinning the fire dancing apparatus close to the cancer sticks.
…and they also managed to scare a lot of people shitless by spinning the meteor hammers around their faces.
This guy rear ended me while I was driving along LDP just now. Anyway, if you use that highway you’ll know that it’s almost always perpetually congested. I was moving at a leisurely 20-30 km/h with the start and stop traffic when I suddenly felt an impact from behind.
I got out of the car and noticed he was still inside, looking a bit lost and shocked. I just said βDude, what’s wrong with you?β and he got out and apologized.
He said a car cut into his lane so he was forced to cut into mine and couldn’t stop in time before he hit me.
There was a looooooong line of cars behind us but surprisingly no one honked so we moved to the side. I wanted to lodge a police report to claim insurance but he wasn’t very keen on the idea and wanted to settle it privately.
I was also in a rush and the damage to my car wasn’t that bad β he hit the inside of the bumper and probably damaged the rear proximity sensors. His car was much worse off. I asked him how he wanted to do it coz he mentioned he didn’t have a lot of cash on him and he offered RM 200.
He seems like a nice enough guy, and I’m due to fix my bumper and all that anyway, so I agreed and we left it at that. These things happen anyway and it’s basically a minor fender bender. π
